hey guy's and gal's, I recently went to a local gander mtn store to shop and I wanted to buy a new frog,I came upon a "clearance" bin with Spro frog's in it, but they were all 8.00! Whew! aren't clearance item's supposed to be marked down : junebugmn
Arent spro frogs original price 8.99? hahaha that's kind of funny.
Yeah, they are $8.99 here as well.
What a steal!...I guess
Are you sure there weren't any further discounts? Reason I ask is the gander near me will sometimes have things in the clearance bins that aren't marked down all that much, but the sales flyer or a sign near the bin says clearance items 1/2 off lowest stickered price or something like that.
Sports Authority here does the same thing. They put colored stickers on them to mark them as discounted. The "funny" part is when some joker throws expensive stuff in the bin and you run up to buy it and find you've been had.
yes chubaka man, they were 8.99 I must have been thinking of going fishing when I said that,my mind has a tendency to wander when I think of blonde's and bass junebugmn
Yeah, you have to watch them. When they advertise 50% off the clearance bins you'll get a deal, otherwise forget it. I won't buy anything there, at anytime, unless it's on sale. Their everyday prices are high.
I wont even go to gander mountain any more. Prices are high and when I do need something in a pinch twice I have called and been told they have it went in 20 minutes later and am told "Oh I thought you wanted this" when I very specifically stated what I was looking for. Its a 25 minute drive for me so I'm not to happy when that happens.

there 8.49 here lol, here's a tip : next time your in a sports authority/ dicks sporting goods and see a bunch of items on the wrong rack you can take them up to the cashier, tell them and they will give you that price. one time i got a bunch of lucky crafts for 2 $ each because they were where the eagle claw hooks should've been.
Help an old guy out here, isn't that called Theft? If some of you wonder why the prices are so high here is one of the reasons. What is wrong with doing the right thing?

If you lie and say they were on the wrong rack/switched the stickers yourself, then yes, that is wrong. However, if the item was stocked on the wrong rack/mismarked by the store employees, the store should honor the price they are being advertised for on the shelf IMO.
Let's be careful here...
Claiming an item was "in the bin" when it wasn't or
"relabeling" merchandise is theft. BassResource.com
DOES NOT support any illegal activities.
Furthermore, "mistakes" do not have to be honored.
Sometimes they are, sometimes not, but you don't have
a "right" to mismarked or misplaced stock.

You're assuming the employees stocked them on the wrong rack or mispriced them. Far more often, I believe, knucklehead shoppers grab those high dollar baits off the shelf, tote them around while considering whether or not to purchase them and then ultimately decide not to. Rather than return them to their high-dollar rack, they ditch them in the closest spot: the discount box.

I agree that this happens a lot more than it should, but there are usually ways to tell when this is the case. There will either be an orange sticker on all the true clearance merchandise and a few baits without them, or something just doesn't fit in with everything else, for example 4 crankbaits in a bin with 200 spinnerbaits and a big sign saying "brand x spinnerbaits 50% off."
The situation I am talking about happens more rarely, but I have seen it. In an aisle there will be several rows of an item on hooks which are labeled far below what I know to be retail for that item, so I grab a few thinking they are on sale, only to have them ring up full price. This is when I tell the person working the register the price that it was advertised for on the rack, and if need be show them where I got the item. If it turns out the item was stocked incorrectly, sometimes they honor the price and sometimes they don't like RW said. If they don't and I don't want to pay retail, I say thanks anyway and leave it there. If they do honor it though, I have no problem taking advantage of the deal.
Sounds like crap to me. Where I live, everything is barcoded and if you pick LC's off the eagle claw rack you'll still pay the LC price.

He is sweet 16.
IMO, when I buy LC's I buy the MSMJ american shad, especially any of the rattling series, I've got probably 10 of them in all sizes in this color. Any time I find them on sale I have to buy them up. If I buy 3, then normally I lose 1 to a hunger LMB, thats why I love them so much!

this is not theft at all, the employees who stock the shelfs wrong are at falt, i did not switch stickers and i did not steal. All of the lucky craft were on the eagle claw hook racks and had eagle claw hook stickers on them, I saw that as an opportunity and bought all of them. That just sounds like luck to me and one dumb employee,
Jason
How do you know its the employees' error? Someone might have simply moved the items. The right thing to do is to tell en employee that they are in the wrong spot. Often they will fix the error, but give you the lower price. Dick's has SKUs and a description on the peg hook price stickers that match the correct item. They have no obligation to honor the price if it doesn't match. In fact, in NY state, the only time a price must be honored is when it is printed or written on the item itself. Switch price tags or moving items to lower priced hooks in order to deceive a cashier is considered shoplifting.

i'm aware of this and i did not shoplift, the price stickers on the lucky crafts were "1.99 eagle claw hooks". I did tell them it was wrong when i got to the cash register and they changed it but honored the price tag, much like you said, and yesterday i went back and they had all there lucky crafts restocked and i bought one for 14.99. I'm sorry if I caused any confusion but I didn't say that i switched any stickers on products which i didn't, shop-lifting is wrong and I have caught a couple shoplifters in dicks, notified employees and said shoplifter was caught. Another great deal I came across was at sports authority, the Mustad Ultra Point hooks (big tube bite or something) EWG hooks were 47 cents a pack, i only picked up 10 but i came back later that week to pick up more and the clearence bins were gone, all items were back on shelfs, and all items were back to standard price.

LOL, OK dude. Sounds like your justifying your original post through backpedaling.
