KVD line and lure conditioner??? 2025

hey everyone, i just got a bottle of KVDs line and lure conditioner. so far i like it. it seems to really help with distance. just wondering what all of you think about this.

It's a good product. If nothing else, it makes the removal of backlashes much easier - not that I've ever had one.

I believe Reel Magic is petroleum based and tends to attract and collect dirt and debris in your reel's working parts.

KVD Line and Lure is one of the best products I have ever used. Very rarely do I use something that far exceeds expectations....this is one of those products.

I have no idea how much this stuff extends line life, but it is a BUNCH. Amazing stuff.

The fact that Reel Magic is still in business proves the amount of stupid people on this planet. I can't think of one single reason to purchase Reel Magic over KVD.

The place I went to didn't have the KVD stuff, so I just grabbed the reel magic... BTW, aside from the fact that it does not do well on your line, it also does not get the bug tar off of the grill of your car...

LOL.....I was just joking more than anything. However, you really need to have a couple of bottles shipped to you. I know it kinda blows to pay shipping on such a small item, but it really is worth it. I'm about to finish my first bottle and have been blown away by this stuff. I can honestly say I'll never be without it. It literally makes Reel Magic seem like it doesn't work at all.

No problem, I knew you were joking around... I'm gonna pick some up this weekend, I'm going up to PA and there's a Cabelas and a BPS near where I'm going, so I'll get some there. I've seen it at one or the other, but can't remember which one... Can't wait to try it out.

You won't find it at Cabela's. They take the Reel Magic mind set that Matt talked about here. You would be doing us and Cabela's a favor by asking the manager why they don't carry L&L (I don't think they like KVD). Suggest that they start carrying it and that goes for Gander Mtn. too. Too many of these stores only carry what they want you to buy and not what the customers want.

I bought a bottle and spayed it on my spinning reel spool twice can't tell where it has helped with line memory. Any suggetions on what I mite be doing wrong. I'm have my spinning reel spooled with 10 pound Yo- Zuri hybrid ultra soft.

All you do is spray it on. Is the line you are using freshly spooled. From what I hear Ultra Soft is pretty limp stuff. It can't help line memory if none has developed as of yet. All I know is I fish P-Line CXX and have had memory develop so bad that last year I would of just re-spooled. This year 4-6 squirts of Line and Lure and a little time to marinate does the trick. I have yet to re-spool a single reel this year. I need to re-spool my my main t-rig set-up pretty bad, but thats only b/c I'm running out of line. I just can't make myself do it b/c I want to see how long L&L can keep this stuff in good working order. I'm seriously starting to think a full season isn't unreasonable.

Triple R,

You will start to see the effects the more you use L&L. Spray your rigs down the night before (to let dry) you go out on the first application then reapply after a day of fishing. Your line will have virtually no memory and last 3 to 4 times longer.

thanks guys I just spooled the reel a few days ago and i've just noticed that when i cast out the line is all coiled looking laying on top of the water so should i just keep spaying it on every night for 3 or 4 days in a row.

Don't waste it. Just give it a good spray once when you put it up for storage and then a lite spray an hour or two before you start fishing. You'll get the hang of it.

I used this stuff primarily because when I used my spooks, subwalks, and any other top water stick bait my line would twist and not spool tightly over my shimano symmetre reel. As soon as my buddy gave me some of this to try my line spooled tighter and did not twist at all. I swore it was just coincedence/magic/whatever but this stuff works great. I purchased a bottle last week (after he showed me a couple weeks ago) and it's in the mail as we speak.

Definately recommended for line twist, line life, backlashes, etc. I would try this stuff out if your having any of these issues or just want your line to be in great shape.

I got snagged by Reel Magic too. The only reason was that BPS in MD has been continuously out of stock and I was too stinkin cheap to pay the shipping. Got the Reel Magic instead from Cabelas as part of an order that I placed. Stuff doesn't do s**t

Placed my order tonight for the KVD L&L through Clever Innovations. Hopefully I can clean my line using some soap and water while on the spool to get the other "junk" off, then spray on the KVD when it's dry.

I don't mind admitting that I felt "Reel Stupid" after buying Reel magic and finding out it does nothing but pick up dirt.

I'll add a little to it...

Dont just think you have to spray this on mono/fluoro....put it on your favorite braided line and watch how much longer it holds its color.

Also makes it RIDICULOUSLY easy to untangle backlashes.

Bottom line....Its the sheet.

all i can say is WOW. i have used it for about a week i think and have noticed a major improvement in casting, back lash removal, and line twist. this stuff is amazing ad i can believe i waited to long to buy some. I am definetly staying with the product and getting all my friends to buy it also ;D

I finally broke down and gave braid a try this year. Spooled it on my flipping set up and the PowerPro is still green. Since i've never used braid before I can't totally credit Line and Lure, but from what I heard it should of lost a lot of its color by now. It has lost very little. Also I've yet to have a single backlash with the braid. Again, in fairness, I have no prior experience with braid so this may be normal.
