Since I have come to the realization that who I have been using is no longer I need a new resource.....Any suggestions looking more on the side of custom made but did like some I saw at Revenge.
I've been using Revenge spinnerbaits for about 4-5yrs now. Really nice looking with quality components. I had one break last year for the first time while reeling it in. The arm snapped. I have decided to try out War Eagles this year and so far, they are great spinnerbaits. I notice they are a little easier to reel in too.
Under Glenn's suggestions here I been using the Mann's classic spinnerbaits. From shore I like the smaller 1/4oz. Gold Colorado blades, with the blue glimmer skirt with a mister twister 4" split double tail grub for a trailer with a trailer hook with a shot of YUM shad scent. I set up the Mann's classic in chartreuse the same way but in chartreuse.
I also use the smaller strike king 1/8oz spinnerbaits too. I set them up like the Mann's classic using the blue glimmer skirts or the hot chartreuse skirts and using the mister twister 2" split double tail grub as a trailer or I trim the 4" split double tail grub to fit the smaller 1/8oz. Spinnerbaits.
I use the smaller spinnerbaits from shore. The 1/8oz. to 1/4oz. When setup right work really well.
The grub trailer has to be installed exactly on the centerline of the spinnerbaits so it runs exactly vertical and doesn't spin around. I also prefer the Colorado gold blades too. But my water conditions are slightly stained to stained most of the time.
Through trial and error I figured out what setup works here. Maybe a different setup may work where you are. But you understand a basic starting point. Now you just have to refine it and steel it in.
Sometimes Mann's are hard to find. When a lure is hard to find I go to Amazon.com
War Eagle and Revenge get the nod for me
I almost exclusively use War Eagle. I know you were asking for a custom. So the ones I have been looking into lately are Sieberts spinner baits or Megastrike's. I have purchased some specialized scroungers from Revenge. So I bet those would be the real deal too.
There are dozens of good brands of spinnerbaits out there, even before you get into custom manufacturers. I tend to use Terminators and War Eagles.
However, every time I walk into any fishing tackle store, I look to see if they have any custom spinnerbaits. If they do, I always buy some, just for my collection if for nothing else. I'd hate to count all the spinnerbaits in my collection - several hundred easily. The vast majority of them will never see water, but they are a valued part of my collection.
Love the war eagle screaming eagle.. hard to beat
I am fishing MegaStrike StrikeBack and Siebert Outdoors Cosmic.
Both brands are built with superior components and built to last.
One adjustment I make on all spinnerbaits is replacing the skirt
with Lumaflex skirts.
i have some sbs from mr siebert, they are the nicest ones i own. powder coated, owner hook, worth blades, sampo swivel and awesome skirt choices
war eagle for "specialty" colors. but if I am throwing a white or white/chart then I have been using either BPS or H20 because they are cheap, effective and easily replaceable.
War Eagle, Premier League Lures, D&M Sniper, Revenge
I fish Stanley, Mann's, Booyah, and SK mostly, but I seldom fish them with the stock blades or skirts. I've found a few blade combinations/sizes that work well, and use whatever weight head for the speed/fall I want. I'm on a good spinnerbait bite now, only regret is the Jerkbait bite was short this year.
Stanley: Vibra Shaft, Vibra Wedge, or Wedge Plus!
Mostly Strike King for me, some custom made ones from guys on this site.
I don't have any custom baits, so I don't have any suggestions on that topic. Hart, Stanley and Terminator titanium get my custom treatments or I'll fish them straight from the pkg.
Gosh!
I am so surprised you guys aren't alll using Bobby's StrikeBack and Mike's Cosmic.
Nichols for me
My favorite is the pepper hawg spinnerbait from pepperjigs.com. Terminators used to be my favorite but the quality has gone down, especially for the double willows, as the smaller front blade often won't even spin. I also love Nichols spinnerbaits, as they make custom lures for you. Plan on trying some war eagle and revenge, and hoping Northstar comes back strong soon. But pepper hawgs and nichols are the best companies that make custom ones IMO.
Strike King or Booyah
Thanks to all of you for the great suggestions. I look forward to reviewing the input offered here and your efforts are very much appreciated...
I I use war eagle but plan on buying revenge soon
War Eagle is my top choice. 3/8 oz. in Chart/White and double willow blades with a Zoom twin tail

I have a strike back that I bought from all the high praises from you, and wouldn't you know it's the only spinnerbait I own that hasn't caught a single fish.
My War Eagles on the other hand get gobbled up. :-)
Not custom, but I mainly use Terminators. They're hard to beat!
Siebert, Strike King, War Eagle, Stanley, are what's in my bag.
for size, about 99% of the time I use 1/2 oz.
I have really gotten to like the Lucky Strike closed loops
War Eagle and Booyah!

Same here.
Still can understand why-has the more unique features than any spinner bait out there
Don't know the brands, but, they cost $1.00 at Wally world and $1.49 at Academy sports.
All of my spinners are Strike King.
I used to buy stupidly expensive spinnerbaits. Now I buy generic ones that are 3 for $10. What have I found? I catch just as many as I did throwing $10-15 spinnerbaits...perhaps more since I'm not afraid to throw a cheap one into any kind of mess.
For years I bought tailor-made spinnerbaits from "Heavy Cover Spinnerbaits".
Then the owner allegedly became ill and the site was shutdown. Then under new ownership it was back up,
but not long afterward the new owner went belly-up.
In the absence of custom-made spinners, I've been using War Eagle spinnerbaits with good success.
Roger
Roger, if you like War Eagles, give Siebert's a try. He uses a similar head and the wire tie skirt is very durable.

Thanks John, I wasn't aware of that.
Roger
Sieberts are great catching HAWGS on them already.
I like the Max Tackle Ghost Minnow spinnerbait, and the Terminator T-1 spinnerbait if i need more thump.
