Had a half a bottle of Yum garlic spray, and half a bottle of Spike It dip and dye Chart. Garlic. So......I mixed the 2 together. I can now spray onto a lure, or in a bag, and get a hell of a reaction! Gonna try some baits tomorrow and see how it does.
Sweet. Mix in a 5 year old throwing rocks in the water and babbling on and you have it made! Lol
Ok, dont do this and leave it in the Yum spray bottle. For some reason the chemicals ate through it. Good thing I put the bottle in a Ziploc freezer bag. I took the remains and put it in the thicker Spike It bottle. Haha, oops.

I've taken kids fishing with me my whole adult life, wouldn't know how to fish without rocks being thrown. Used to get aggregated until that eight pound bass destroyed my buzz bait. honestly I think there are times the disturbance gets them curious.
I've mixed some JJs with some other attractant I've got, but didn't put it in a plastic bottle. JJs would eat right through it.
And hey, if you can catch bass while kids are throwing rocks, you're a master!
Well, recommending a mixture without testing it seems silly.
Stick with JJ's Magic and separately, MegaStrike. Both are
proven winners!
I chalk it up to luck and being rewarded for taking the kids out. Btw rock bottomed rivers are noisy anyway.
Why do you always have to be a party pooper! ..lol..On 9/21/2012 at 11:07 PM, roadwarrior said:Well, recommending a mixture without testing it seems silly.

An old recipe I heard about years ago is anise mixed with baby oil.
It last's a long time, doesn't eat through anything and if you believe that atractants are just that, mix a little up and try it.
25% / 75%
You'll be surprised

Don't laugh but try soaking your soft plastics in Italian salad dressing, not the creamy one.
Also coffee.
LgMouthGambler,
I asked Dr. Keith Jones of Berkley what is the ultimate attractant and he said to grind up some Nightcrawlers and use the paste as your attractant.
Have not done so as yet but will give it a shot when I get up the nerve to put the live worms into a blender.
I bought a separate blender for the occassion but so far JJ's and MegaStrike are what I use in tournaments and Carolina Lunker Sauce and spray-on attractants for fun fishing.
So if you are experimenting how about trying the Nightcrawler attractant and give us a detailed report.
OK, nightcrawler update: couldnt put myself to use a good blender for this, and wasnt going to buy another. Chewing them in your mouth tastes bad as well. lolOn 9/23/2012 at 6:42 PM, Sam said:LgMouthGambler,

My mixture update: so far so good. I am just leaving the mixture in the Spike It bottle, and using a 3ml syringe to pull some out to spray in the bag of bait and then just smooshing it all around. The fish seem to be a little more aggresive, but then again we are having some strange weather down here right now. Gonna have to give a solid months testing.
DO not put nightcrawlers in a blender-Stupidiest thing i ever hear-besides me coming back as a sponsor cause glenn dosent like me. Ok back to the nightcrawlers. They will decay and becomerancid--- more of a fish repellant . DO NOT DO IT- bass are preditory fish.
I still like you glenn-

They really are all you'll need.
I see Crazy Bobby is still around. LOL
I always thought the best attractant was the right lure thrown right at their nose! :-D
But I did get some JJ's recently. Havent noticed any difference in the amount of strikes...We'll see what happens after the turnover. I sure hope its not all just hype.

Not necessarily about "more bites."
ANY attractant will not magically draw fish to your lure. These ultimately keep the fish holding onto your lure long enough for you to wake up and set the hook. LOL

I bought 2 bottles and they will be my last. I did as the instructions and warnings stated, and this stuff is still a mess. Maybe it works better if you apply it to the bag directly with a syringe but I could not get this stuff to quit leaking out from underneath the lid, and it made my hands stink. There's no doubt that this stuff is potent but I can't say I got any more bites with it.
I want to try JJ's, done the mega-strike, its like petroleum jelly, I know you aren't supposed to use any petroleum based products. I even mixed up some garlic and Vaseline once just to see what would happen, not much. I use spike it regularly and believe it helps, I will be ordering some JJ's next week.
I read a post before about tricks with JJ's. Someone recommended keeping your empty bottles and pouring half of the new bottle into the old ones and you wont have the leaking problem. Im gonna try this when I order more. I DO like the dying properties alot even if the scent isnt "magical"...
Not petroleum jelly--we just let you think it is-
JJs absoluly works... nothing hits the water before being dipped in clear JJs.
I also like megastrike, though I do not use it often...... I swear last winter I got a bass to the boat that was not even hooked, he just hung on LOL.
I don't see JJ's and Megastrike in the same realm. Yeah, they both stink, but they serve different purposes for different baits. I would not dip a Hardgill in JJ's, but I'll slather it up with Megastrike. I also wouldn't slather Megastrike on my crawfish claws to enhance the color. Megastrike really is an attractant. That JJ's has scent, is a bonus to me. I'd say use them both equally. Going without both in my boat just feels wrong.

I'm sorry if my post was misleading, I know its not petroleum jelly.
