Crankbait is my crack, yes I have a crankbait problem. I simply just can't stop buying them. Anytime I'm at Gander, Dicks, or any stores that sells tackle, I get what I need then I immediately walk to the hard bait section. Anytime there is a small sale on cranks, I'm looking to buy some if it catches the fisherman in me. I know that some catches fish and some catches fishermen, but even knowing that, I still seem to want every cool color and want every brand I feel like has a good design. During a normal fishing day I might try a few different colors and brands, but then when I do fish the few tournaments yearly I only end up throwing 1 or 2 cranks. It's just this thing with me about collecting them, almost like jewelry for men lol. Sometimes I will just stare at cranks for a long time thinking what colors I need. I usually get a natural color, a dark natural color, a bright chartreuse color, and a red color. Then I think to myself about thinking outside the box and get a unique color. Usually I never end up using that crank lol.
Two plano full of cranks, working on my third. Lipless cranks, I'm working on filling my 2nd plano. Jerkbaits and topwater, also working on my 2nd plano. I don't see myself stopping, Today I just picked up 2 Spro fat pappa 55 and 2 Spro Little Johns because of a measly 20% off even though I went to the tackle store to buy hooks . Yes I am a crank addict.
Admitting it is the first step!
I see no problem Keep up the good work!

Soon you won't even look at the crankbaits that places like Dick's and Gander Mountain sell because you have all of them. Ask me how I know that.

2 boxes full of cranks is a good "starter kit".
When I reached 600 pcs I stopped counting.
We are here for you! We are all crank addicts!
the way I look at it is I can buy 3-4 crankbaits and it's about the same amount I might spend on 3-4 drinks if I went to a bar. My addiction is swimbaits, it started with a couple and well now I need a bigger drawer to put the back ups to the ones I fish not to mention the ones I have on order and waiting for them to arrive. I just wish they were the same price as crankbaits
x3 to the picture showing!
Well, I guess that makes ALL of us.
I acquired 7 or 8 this week (mostly red/craw colored), and I too realized it's time for a new plano organizer.
Life is hard.
Well i order the blanks from predatorbassbaits.com and i have painted 75 in the past 2 weeks...

Dang I'm sure glad I don't drink $6-7 drinks. $2 bottles of Miller High Life for me. I just started purchasing beginner swimbaits about a month ago and even those add up quick. Hopefully I don't get into the bigger/expensive ones. My wallet will hate me.
I have a crankbait problem too... I keep buying them, even though I never throw them. Its gotten really bad this year since I started to buy more JDM cranks... Most of the time I just think they look good so I tell myself I have to buy them haha.
I wish I felt like I could get by with just 2 or 3 Plano boxes full of cranks...
You know you have it bad when during the annual winter hook changing ritual you find crankbaits in your box you didn't even know you owned...

This! Heck I think I have three boxes of just shallow and square bills. And at least two boxes of lipless cranks. And a least a dozen or so cranks Still in the package in various grocery store bags laying on my work bench...
...and I don't even see myself as a cranlbait specailist
I'm right there with you
I have e boxes of cranks and just added the new live target bait balls
It took me over 8 hours (not consecutively) this winter to change my hooks out to the kvd must ads on them all
I don't know if it's because I have so many or if I'm just slow at changing them out :-)
I read on here about guys changing out the factory hooks for better quality hooks to catch more fish.
I have 2 bait coffins full of square bills and other shallow divers. 1 box of lipless and about 4 boxes of mid to deep divers.
Hello, my name is Darin. I have a crankbait problem.
if you have a crack problem, pull your pants up

lol good luck it started with a bbz shad and snowballed into baits that cost as much as 4 bbz's. its a slippery slope my friend slippery indeed.
Just be thankful that you don't have an addiction to G Loomis rods...lol.

No joke! I haven't even purchased a Shimano baitcaster and it's all I'm thinking about.
Go head first into heroin- start buyin custom balsa baits now. I recommend the WECs from Peepers and Jawjackers.
I used to be a big time crankbait fanatic, but now I have basically quit buying them, because I have 3-4 of each bait that I use. I have 2 full size planos for squarebills, 1 for deep divers, 1 for jerkabits, and 1 lipless. I have about 200 cranks for walleye fishing in about 5 other planos that dont make the cut for bass fishing... Crankbaits are great, but I have other baits that I find catch much better quality for me... I still love them though, my pb came on a square bill...

I have larger cardboard boxes full of each manufacturer's crankbaits. Bomber, Norman, Mann's, etc. Each time I find a crank that's hot I buy them when ever I order other things.
I buy for the fear of my hot lure being discontinued someday.
These older craw colors are still my front line up of lures even still today the bass try to rip them off my line. Then I stock up n what I can before there gone.
I even stocked up on BPS stik o worms in the color I can't get anymore and there Amber red flake color is one hot senko type baits. In certain water and light conditions of course.
Trust me if you have a hot lure size and color combination stock up on it.
I carry four of the largest split barn roof tackle boxes made today. That's besides my 17 tackle boxes are backup and my cardboard boxes as extra supply. My tackle room is past being full.
I have every color of every crank made.
Got a kick out of your Topic Heading and was sure glad to find out it was nothing serious....I have been trying to figure out what my addiction is and the only thing I can come up with is it starts with JDM. To make matters worse I can't even read the boxes....On 3/8/2014 at 9:23 AM, bass1980 said:Crankbait is my crack, yes I have a crankbait problem. I simply just can't stop buying them. Well before I used to just fish to fish, never really getting deep into techniques, lures, and gears. The past 1.5 years I've been hooked. I haven't had a chance to really loud up on buying a bulk of cranks because I'm still testing to see which ones I really like so my problem is I buy too many kinds and every kind I want to get a few different colors. I'm also spending majority of my money on setups so lures are second priority until I can get my 8th setup, I'm at 5. I'm well behind so of you guys that have 100+ cranks, but I'm not sure if I want to get there lol. My problem is I know not to buy, but I stare and stare and then I end up buying. Cranks hasn't even produce the most or biggest fish for me, that would be jigs or power worms, but there's an attraction with cranks I have I guess.
Well I have the rest of my cranks in my shed which to get to I would have to walk 60 yards in knee deep snow so I can't take pics of those. These are what I have bought since winter. Wonderful winter up north is collecting season.
those look good man, I have quite a few of the same baits. I am looking forward to getting them wet...

Yes you have the same signs and it will not be long before you cannot read the boxes either ....On 3/9/2014 at 7:22 AM, bass1980 said:Well I have the rest of my cranks in my shed which to get to I would have to walk 60 yards in knee deep snow so I can't take pics of those. These are the two cranks I am really looking forward to try this spring. One is the spro bluegill. I've had success last year with the KVD bluegill and this spro looks fabulous. Also I'm trying to think outside of the box. Going to try this blue Rapala DT during early cloudy mornings or near sunset. Retrieving it with a lot of pause and hope they are taking it on the pause.

What a waste of space, you can store a couple more pieces per compartment.
Do not stop now, the economy depends on guys like you!
