What is your favorite jig? Which trailer do you prefer? Share some pics with the rest of us!!
I really like the war eagle heavy finesse jigs in black and blue with the net bait paca chunk trailer also in black and blue. I just love the way this combo looks. I have a lot of confidence with this jig. Sorry about the poor quality pic, my wife had the digital camera :'(
Alot of people use the black / blue combo.
Since I fish and weedy shallow / deep semi - clear water, all of my jigs are green pumpkin with either a watermelon trailer or some other darker color. Brush guard modification is also a must.
I fish GMAN's jigs (a member here).
Favorite trailers are Net Bait and Rage Tail products.
No pics, but I like stanley jigs/ a Uncle Josh jumbo pork frog trailer

My most productive jigs this year, homemade green pumpkin/blue/blue fleck finesse w/ 3" green pumpkin blue chigger craw...
...and Ozark craw Booyah pigskin w/ green pumpkin/blue baby brush hog
I've really taken a shine to Terminator's Pro's Secret and Football jigs.
Mann's Stone jig is great also but hard to find. Strike kings Denny Brauer Premier Pro series are great as well. Don't forget to check out ***, who has a great selection, and the Evolution Jigs.
For trailers:
1) Rage Craws. 2) Rage Craws. 3) See one and two.

Outkast RT Jig
In Florida's salad and Canada's cabbage, you won't last long with a 60-degree hook and an upturned line-eye
> Embedded Eyelet (line-eye on nose of jig offers the best weed penetration)
> 135-Degree Angle between weedguard & jig forehead (Square corners are weed traps).
> 5/0 Mustad Extra-Strong Round-Bend Hook (ample for 50-lb musky)
> 54-Strand Silicone Skirt
> Double-Barb Trailer Keeper
> Double Rattlebox (which I remove)
CAVEAT> The bristleguard is very soft; do not remove any bristles or shorten the length (flare as usual)

The old berkley Jay Yelas Flipping jig in Black/Blue with a Chigger Craw or a Smallie Beaver as a trailer. I am not real fond of the new berkley jigs I guess it is a good thing I bought all of them I could find when I found out they were going to be disc.
I don't fish many jigs, but for color, size, and all round looks, I love ADORE a Booyah! Baby Booh 3/16oz jig in 3-D Watermelon Red:http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SceneSevenDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=-51623&scene7Path=BassPro%2f76000%2foptimized%2f76255_psd.tif&sourceName=images2%2f76000%2f76255.jpg&type=1&linkEnabled=false With a Yum! Chunk in Watermelon/Red Flake(02):http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SceneSevenDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10151&langId=-1§ion=Home&productId=-58615&scene7Path=BassPro%2f248-532-02&sourceName=images2%2f200-000%2f248-532-02.jpg&type=1&linkEnabled=false. With the red stripe aligned with the trailer this is the deadlist lookin' jig you'll ever see, and I beleive the best I've ever combined, not that I've done much.
I make my own jigs as well. I've pretty munch gone to a football for everything. I make finesse footballs and regular footballs. I don't pour my own heads; I use Picasso or All Terrain Tackle's.
Finesse Jigs...
Regular Football...
ive been doing really well with a booyah boo jig black and brown spice with a yamamoto craw trailer in watermelon seed.

That is my favorite flippin' jig of all time. I still have several that I have made new skirts for. I just can't see why they quit making them....I will search FFO-tackle and ebay every now and again trying to find them.
Jewel Eakins jig and Jewel Football jig
I get mine custom made and love them!
http://mylegallimitlures.com/
The_Natural, those look good dude. Those first finesse jigs look like they would bring a limit in fast
I like the Jewel Baits jigs with none other than the rage tail craw (Craw so I can trim for trailer or leave long for texas rig craw
Gotta love the good ole Mop Jigs, if your on a mop jig bite, your cashing a check ;D
However if I'm not throwing that then I throw PJ Jigs for everything else.
chompers 3/8 ounce football jig heads with weed guard and an array of starflash skirts my fav colors are bluegill/junebug/red+black/summercraw
I always use flapping hog for my trailers i love the thick fat juicy trailers lol
these just always work for us and there relatively cheap for 4 jigs for 5 bucks and 3 skirts for 3 bucks
I've seen the Naturals jigs up close and they are impressive. Awesome skirts.
I just recently discovered the Chompers football jig. This thing comes through wood cover like no other. I'm not going to take any credit b/c I came on it by complete accident. Had a guy tell me that they were really on the deep bite at fork on Booyahs nest robber color. wnet to bass pro and they only had 3. Chompers Brown Orange Craw was the next closest thing so I bought all they had.
After about the first hour all the Booyahs were gone. Fished the rest of the day with the Chompers and caught more fish. Really cheap too.
4.99 for 2 I think.
I am yet to do much jig fishing. But for trailers, I realli like the Mad Man Craws if you can find them in a clearance bin somewhere, since they went out of business.
Pepper Hawg Jig in Green Pumpkin with a black Uncle Josh #11 pork frog. Half ounce jig.
I make all my own.
Well I make almost everything I fish. 8-)
I like booyah boo jigs w/ ragetail lobsters
Booyah jig in black and blue with a zoom trailer and 1/4 to 1/2 inch cut off the weedguard.
-gk
I tie my own.
My current favorite is a junebug colored Jewel football jig with a Zoom Baby Brush Hog in green pumpkin purple color.
WOW,
most every one likes something different..

Very good Jeff.
And therein lies the most significant message of this thread

EastTexasBassin gave me a tip earlier this year and it's been paying off. Booyah Boo Jig, but on a Paca Chunk. Awesome. Still a really crappy jig fisherman, but it works.
I picked up a few boo jigs earlier tonight. I might have to try the paca chunk with it.
That is a do-it poison tail jig, could be from alot of different smaller manufactorers
Rolo,
so, do you feel that....
where you fish ( area of lake or river )
and
how you present the jig
is just as or more so important than
the jig it self ?
That sure does look like a *** jig.
I have 2 favorite jigs at the moment.
Eakins 3/8oz flippin finesse jig and Gman 5/16oz finesse jig. I like both jigs in black and blue with either Berkley Black and Blue Chigger Craws or Yum Money Craw in Black and Blue as well.
Later,
Booyah swin n jig
with
zoom super speed craw 4"
This combo has been the dominate fish getter for me this year. Fished high in the water column in vegetation it looks just like a brim or blue gill.

Well, different anglers, fish different waters and are faced with different situations and cover.
"Favorite Jig" is a generic question, and doesn't address the criteria that caused each angler to embrace it as his 'favorite'.
For instance, the jig I pictured satisfies most of the things that I like in a jig, but places the emphasis on "weedlessness".
However, the fellow who spends most of his time in stumpfields would probably favor an "arkie head",
and the rock-bouncer might opt for a "football" head, and so it goes
Roger
I've been fishing Dirty Jigs for a while now, and really like them. Originally I was tying my own, but the color combos he ties up are incredible. For a while they were tough to get as he made them per order for the most part. But now you can get them online at HookedUpTackle.Com which has made things much easier.
My favorite I actually have two, First Evolution jig 3/16 Black and the my old stand by Gary Klein Weapon jig 1/4 in the weeds 1/2 oz pitchin and flippin. All with *** chunk black neon or black/blue pork in cold weather below 55 degrees Black The Evo jig is my jig of choice right now ... Nothing looks like it in the water
QuoteThe_Natural, those look good dude. Those first finesse jigs look like they would bring a limit in fast
X2 those look awesome!
