Just saw these on the retailer to not be named. Pretty good price and they look pretty cool on their videos. Anyone ever use one or know much about them? Might be a christmas present for the bait monkey from me.
I hope to see some responses here. They are pretty new, but as you said look good.
Looks really similar to the R2S S-Waver. So I'd assume it performs the same or close, but you never know. Could be a hunk of junk. I really like the S-waver so if this is an even better option, that's a plus!
I don't think you're going to get any responses as these just came out a few days ago. They do look very similar to the S-Waver and are about the same size. From what I've seen so far, Savage Gear makes good stuff, I would expect these to be the same. I plan to get a couple. They have a few new swimbaits coming out that look great.
I like the bluegill and perch options savage has. Hopefully some of you southern guys get a chance to use them and then I can benefit from your research when the ice goes out
i didnt care much for the bluegill color. baby bass looks most realistic.
A couple of those colors are gonna tear up muskies on the river.
They looked awesome when I was at ICAST this year. Here's the video:

That line through soft swimbait has really nice swimming action. Think I'm going to add it to the list! The never ending list that is!
Kinda wish they made a bigger one.
In my experience, the smaller glides do not swim nearly as well as the larger baits.
River2Sea is coming out with a bigger S-waver, pretty pumped to see that one.

Hard to please a guy throwing a Deps 250 SS, no?
In all seriousness I notice the same thing. Glide baits definitely seem to work better at the 6+ sizes.

I've been waiting on TW to release their Line Thru trout for months.
+1 on the River2Sea recommendation. R2S and Savage Gear both make really good quality products. I hope to see them expand.
Mike Bucca said if the guys at Okuma love them, he loves them. I am getting two of them on my next order. I have an S-Waver and love it. Awkward on the cast but action is great. The colors of the Savage gear is much better than the S-Waver.
No experience fishing the bait but by the looks of it - It's Killer.

i watched video of swaver and its swimming action doesnt appear to be as good.

It's supposed to have a pretty subtle action. They are pretty easy to modify to get a wider glide out of though.

It is pretty under the radar but Savage Gear also has an 8" model of the glide swimmer, I have only seen a few pics of it and not sure when it comes out but looks good.
I have had my savage gear glide for a few days now but today was the first day I was able to throw it. I is definitely very similar to the S-waver. It seems to have much better hardware than the stock hardware on an s-waver. also the joint is a LOT more free even on my favorite s-waver which I modded to be a lot more open. That should translate to a wider glide but not always. I only got to fish it for about 30 mins on the bank in stained water so I can not say to much on the action. The one thing I really dont like is that it has rattles in it.
It's pretty sick. That's about all I can say.On 12/11/2013 at 1:26 AM, SPEEDBEAD. said:River2Sea is coming out with a bigger S-waver, pretty pumped to see that one.
Well, hook a brotha up LOL
my SG glide swimmer just got dropped off today and from what i can tell it looks to be a pretty well made lure the fit and finish is really impressive for its price range
Has anyone tossed this thing yet? Hoping someone outside of hard water realms has had the opportunity and can chime in.
Mark- I have been looking at mine everyday wishing I was out throwing it... does that count? Hopefully someone can give us an update soon.
I also seen TW has the Savage line thru now, but they went out of stock pretty fast. Wish they would have been on there when I ordered the Glide a few weeks back I would have picked one up.

Bummer. I wasn't aware either, however I thought they would have more of a color selection on that bait. Was planning on nabbing one too, but not in any real hurry. I know they have some interior nylon construction to keep it together, but I'm still uncertain of what a few pike would make of it. The pike on my lake love to bite the tails off of everything I throw....
It casts well...but the action is lacking as I drag it across the ice.

I read somewhere that there are more colors coming out. Some time in February they're releasing a baby bass pattern and a shad pattern.

It looks like Monster Tackle has some in stock still, I ordered some from them a couple of days ago.
The line thru will have more colors released in february. I've been able to fish the glide swimmer for almost 2 months now. from what i can tell its a little heavier then id like and the joint is a little too free. makes it a little harder to control. don't get me wrong its a nice bait but i still favor my s waver over it
Basshole- When you say heavier are you referring to overall weight when throwing it or do you mean it sinks faster than you'd like? I know it says slow sink but can you put it in perspective to a Hudd? Is it similar to say a ROF 5? Thanks buddy for any info.
It is heavier both weight and sink rate on thr rof system i would probably rate it at rof 7-9. Its just too much free movement in the tail for me jerk a little too hard and it spins 360 and fouls and its not as easy to keep in a desired depth range through out the cast. it may just be that I'm not quite adjusted to how it fishes yet though

Here is a nice write up on TT for the line through swimbait from Savage.
I wanna try that double darter rig, BAAAAAD. It almost looks like a recoil rig. If they can resist that, Ill just quit.

I've seen that it does look like it'd be killer on summer bass around docks
Anyone know how to set that up so it reacts like the video? It wasnt very clear as to how that happens like that.
Found a better view
Took some digging, found the entire article

their new line through soft swimbait looks great, but TW only has in trout pattern. I'll need the baby bass around here

supposedly they're releasing more colors in late February
Found a video comparing the swimming action of the Savage gear glide swimmer, R2S s-waver, and a Gan Craft joint claw.
Thanks for finding that Branden. I think the action on the Savage isn't all that bad to be honest. I like the more erratic movements. It's not as fluid as a Jointed Claw but for a 3rd of the cost, I could live with that. What I didn't particularly like was the sink rate but perhaps its good to know and use that in a situation you want the bait down a little quicker. I think any 3 of these baits are worth while to have. I only have 2 S-Wavers, so I'll probably try a Savage next. If I can get a deal on a JC, i'd certainly entertain it but paying MSRP just isn't happening for me right now.
New S-waver 200 in Pike coming out.
When are they going to release more swaver 200's
On 2/7/2014 at 2:00 AM, basshole8190 said:When are they going to release more swaver 200's
According to info from another forum source. Late Spring 2014 the 200's should be restocked. I'm unsure of this Pike color, I saw this on R2Sea Europes facebook.
How much did the S-wavers 200 cost? I must have been living in a hole when they were released. And does anyone know someone who has fished one?
On R2S site they're $36.74. Nothing is available right now. That price jump is quite big from the smaller version. I do not know anyone that has one or fished it.
Thanks Mark. I seen they were 36 on R2S but with the price jump thought maybe they were sold cheaper elsewhere. Guess I'll keep my eye out for some reviews and water testing this spring.
Hopefully they have similar action to some of the higher $ larger baits. Even at 36 that's way better than 100+. Wouldn't feel so bad if/when that snot rocket bit me off.
Thought I'd let you guys know TW has a few of the S-waver 200's in stock. Light trout, Firetiger, and Party Crasher.
