Just looking for anyone's opinion and input regarding their favorite vibrating jig. My personal go to is D&M 3/8 oz Piranha Swimg Jig which seems to have an aweosme hook-up ratio and attention to detail for price.
Booyah.... I like the flexible hook.
I've gotten hit with the trailers that come with it, but latley I've been experimenting with super flukes.
Got a 3 lber last night. She hit it so hard i thought I was gonna lose the rod.
Color..Any as long as it's white

Gotta be the Molix Lover
Hands down the best is the TNT baits claymore jig. Look them up
I have had no problems with z-man chatterbaits but I haven't tried others to tell if they're better
Z-man by far.. hooks never give me problems.. got my 9 pounder on z-man
See and that is weird because I have had terrible experiences with Zman hooks
I have only used the Zman lures. I have seen the Booyah's but I'm not sure if I like the flexible hook set up. Somehow it just seems a bit "suspicious" to me.
z man, in white with a summer craw chunk or fluke trailer. caught my 10lb on that set up.

What's happens with the hook

One hook broke clean off at the jig head and I have had another hook bend after catching a 5 pounder. On top of that my skirts on these baits seem to fall off all the time so I've had to gorilla glue them to the jig head base. Maybe I was just unfortuante enough to get two seperate terrible chatterbaits from Zman but I remain skeptical.
I guess Ive never really experimented with others but the Strike King Pure Poison has worked just fine for me!

Havent had a problem with the hooks yet on my Zmans, but have had several of the skirts come off. Ive had better luck though without the skirts!

That sucks.. I've heard people say that on here but for me no problems with hooks.. also I do use alil caps of super glue to keep the skirt on.. no gorilla.glue tho because it foams up and I don't like that on my bait..

Without the skirt? What do you use as a trailer

Been all about the ***! Cant wait for the tandem spin spinnerbaits.
I use zman.. I bought a d&m pirhranna and love it but I accidentlly bought the 1/2 oz and that with a swim jig trailer looks huge... I haven't thrown it much..

That's weird, when do you use the glue? When the bait is wet? If so I can see why it may happen, I tend to use it after a day on the water when the bait is dry. If you use gorilla glue when the bait is dry you shouldn't have any issues with foaming.
Has anyone used the j-will rocker jigs? I saw a ton on clearance at walmart the other day. Looked like they had a much bigger blade than zman or booyahs.

I understand we all have prefferences, but I don't understand what you find "suspicious" ?

I have had doubts/suspicions about a flexible hook being able to hook and keep fish hooked. After reading your first post I thought I might have misjudged them and posted to see if others shared my concern or if they were raving about the product and I were missing out. If somebody you can tell me they work as good or better I will try out one in I believe golden shiner color I have had my eye on for a while.
I make my own and catch far more on them than I ever have on store bought bladed jigs. I build them on a 3/8oz football jig or 5/16oz ballhead jig with a 4/0 black nickel Mustad ultra point. Plus I can customize my skirt color. I've caught a ton of good fish on them the last couple years. Caught my two biggest bass of the year on them in fact, one on black and blue and one on zebra shad.

Nah I don't really need to glue then if I do its with super glue on a dry bait of course.. gorilla glue foams for me I treid it on my terminator jig the weed guard came out.. foamed like it had rabbis. Also with the z-man skirts I will get a few here and there that need to be held BC there those.
Rabbis**** I hate my phone
Lot's of success with strike king pure poison...bought several at walmart for a buck each.
lately, a local fellow makes some that are sold at our local fishing store, and I have been using them. they have a "holographic" front on the blade. he has one in green pumpkin and the holographic front flashes green pumpkin, a hint of yellow, and a hint of orange as it vibrates. well made, and so far no problems.

Yes sir! Zoom flukes or hollow belly swimbaits.
I like Z-Man , and I also like some custom made ones a buddy here on bassresource gave me!
I have Booyahs and some Zman and haven't caught crap on any of them. Really wanting to test out that flexible hook on the Booyahs though if the d**n fish will ever bite it.

This in Bluegill for me.On 6/6/2013 at 11:37 PM, Mikey Bass said:I guess Ive never really experimented with others but the Strike King Pure Poison has worked just fine for me!
zman did have some hook issues, when they went with a cheap hook, when demand was crazy. I had heard that they have fixed it, with a Mustad. New ones should be good. Don't use em much myself, but that's just a story I heard...maybe its true, with all the stuff I've heard about their hooks...I've got a few Pirhana's I need to try...

I really like the ones I've been making, and more importantly so do the fish. I've been fishing a lot of black in combination with some other color and it really seems like I catch better quality fish than I do with white or chartreuse.

Same here...I enjoy tying my own skirts. I also like using those blades with holes in them offered by Barlows.

I have some of the bubbler blades but can't really tell a difference in them. What difference do you see when using them?
Blue, that's a scrounger. You shouldn't throw those, they don't work.........

How do you like working your chatter baits? I normally swim them or just jerk em down on the bottom like a jig

Slow, steady retrieve normally. I was catching fish reeling it as slow as I could get the blade to work last week in muddy water. I've had a few times in clear water or over weeds when running them just under the surface was best though.

I agree with this, seems to work best for me as well. I'm not saying bass don't want them on a fast retrieve at times but usually it seems to put off a little too much vibration for the fish when it's done that way.
Personally like the chatterbait! Have caught many large fish with them. I must remember to check the lure after catching a large one. Broke off two last fall but that was my own fault for not checking., It only takes a second to tie a knot!
where are you guys buying your blades?
Yeah that's what do today... I was throwing them today but nothing.. its was raining and muddy water...On 6/11/2013 at 11:01 PM, Bluebasser86 said:Slow, steady retrieve normally.
