Looks amazing!
Anyone looking to get one?
Looks like they are available for pre-order already.
did they finally get with the program and put on hook keepers for the north American market?

I’ve come to strongly prefer rods with out hook keepers as I’d rather be able to use one of the Fuji ones placed exactly where I want it, rather than being stuck with whatever the factory decided was best. I fish a ton of t-rigged plastics and the common closed-loop factory keepers are useless to me.
Nice looking rod but I am not sold on the shinny plastic handle.
Only a few models shown on TW right now.
nah ... not willing to spend 360.00 dollars for a fishing rod ... if that floats your boat ... have at it ...... and .....
good fishing ...

I used to say the same thing.. now I'm like "$360? That doesn't sound so bad..".
Slippery slope.
These rods look SICK. Shimano is killing it. The spinning handle looks like the same one they use on the Zodias.. anyone else notice that?
Hopefully, they will have more models.
Especially, in the spinning line up.
Do you guys notice a lot of fatigue in the hands from fishing with your current rods?
Not really.
But then again most of my combos are fairly light weight.
I have several of the old model adrenas, and they are pretty light weight.

Depends on the combo. Spinning combos used to kill my wrists after a long day using one until I changed how I hold the rod and started buying lighter reels.
Nice, I had no idea these were on the horizon. I'd have to get one in hand first as I'm not sure about the handle style, but I really like the colors.
I have a Shimano Soare and it is a great finesse rod. One thing about it that is most noticeable is its grip. Gosh, it is just so comfortable to hold, much different than any other rod I use. I see a similar designed grip used on this Poison Adrena rod.
Agreed, pretty expensive but these will likely sell very well if the performance is there. The workmanship, the lightness, the appearance? Off the charts!

Sometimes. My heaviest combo that I twitch a lot is a 7.55 oz Megabass IP68 (TD Zillion) on a gen 1 Orochi XX Perfect Pitch. I walk frogs with that rig and while it is heavy it is well balanced. I don't fatigue using it but you can definitely feel the weight in every twitch. I also have a Megabass Hyuga 72H that is lighter weight than the Perfect Pitch but not as well balanced so that can fatigue you over time walking a frog so I don't walk frogs with that rod very often but it is also on the slightly heavier side of a heavy powered rod.
Hmm, the video is impressive. I hate to get Shimano fanboy over Rods, but I do like their rods. Things like this mess up my plans....
These have been on the JDM market since 18. Brian.
The more I look and research these I think I'm going to get a spinning rod for weightless Senkos. It'll look killer paired up with a Stradic Ci4+.

FTFY: Shimano Essence
felt the full line up at the classic. Very very solid feeling rods. Talked to Alex Davis about them and he gave me a rundown on the features.
That is impressive. I did a similar two finger wiggle test with my lightest rod, a Steez Skyray ML, and it is about the same. That is a 6'8" ML casting rod though. That kind of light weight with strong backbone at heavier powers is nice to see.
Posted this vid in another thread, sweet lightness!
June 14 is approx date of availability.
I have a spinning rod of the older version and I love it. Easily my favorite rod.
Only a few models shown on TW right now. The 73MH looks like an absolutely sick jig rod.
I got hold these rods this weekend at the Shimano booth at the NW sports show and they are AMAZING. The balance is fantastic and It's ridiculous how light there are without skimping on the handle and guides. The taper is quite powerful for a rod that light. I don't know what voodoo Shimano is doing but its shockingly lite. The Phenix feathers feel this fight BUT they have super bare bones handles and components to achieve that weight. This is a fully baked rod. For 350 these are gonna be popular. It felt like a more expensive rod. The 7'3 MH is the obvious front runner.
Im very interested in these, and def think I’ll be trying one in the future. I’m curious if those carbon grips are going to be slippery though in the rain or with sweaty hands in the summer. That’s my only concern. Though in the summer I’m always wearing my half finger sun gloves that have some grippy stuff on the palms. The 6’11” Med+ looks intriguing to me.

They are very smooth, they are not the 'soft touch' material like on the Expride. They feel more like the handle on the St Croix Legend Xtreme IMHO.

That’s interesting bc the handles on the Leg Xtreme that I’ve held in the store as I recal were a bit of a soft almost neoprene like material. I expected these to be a solid smooth finish.

I own a Xtreme and yeah i'd say it's close to what the Posions are. The Posions have kind of a matte finish. I'm just going off memory from two days ago but the handles felt pretty nice.

Any idea how they compare to the expride?
Anyone got one of these coming? TW had the 6'11" Medium+ and 7'2" Heavy marked as in stock on June 9th but they still say that. I "preordered" the 6'11" Medium+ as a versatile rod, for everything from 1/4oz lipless and Texas rigs to 3/8-5/8oz lipless, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, jigs, you name it. I don't really throw larger baits, though I do have 2 glidebaits, an S-Waver 168 and a similarly sized Savage Gear 3D something or other, neither of which I've gotten wet yet.
I have a few rods already, but I would love to be able to bring a single baitcaster and single spinning rod and be covered for pretty much any fish and any presentation, at least around Minnesota anyway. If I had a boat I wouldn't mind having 4 or 5 rods rigged up for different things, but being limited mostly to bank/dock fishing, I don't want tons of rods with me, just 1 or 2 at the max. I'm thinking the 6'11" Medium+ should be able to wrestle big pike or muskie and pull bass out of thick cover, while still being able to throw light baits like a Ned rig or weightless Senko (though they are a little light for it). If I bring 1 casting and 1 spinning, then obviously I will throw the lighter stuff on the spinning setup, but I think the Adrena should be able to throw ~1/8 to 1/10oz stuff. Obviously there are better options for various presentations, but I think this should be a wonderfully lightweight, very sensitive jack of all trades. That's what it appears to be anyway!
Oh, and I'll be slapping my Bantam on it... what a great reel. Might make the setup a little back-heavy though? lol

I think you might be overestimating the power of the rod. I'd bet it will be seriously underpowered to deal with big bass in cover never mind big pike and musky.

Of course a more stout rod is ideal for that, but up here in the north, people land 40 inch pike using 6'6" to 7' medium power spinning rods out of a canoe. If you want to horse such a fish, or a big bass in cover, into the boat, then yes a thicker rod is necessary. But I think if you don't completely lock down drag, big fish and fish in cover should be perfectly do-able. It's just that, given the option, everyone would prefer a bigger rod to make it easier. I'm not planning on using the 6'11" Adrena for muskie fishing anyway. I just want a really nice do-it-all rod instead of a bunch of decent specialized rods. I simply don't have the luxury of being able to easily carry or use 5 different rods at all times.
Checked TW's page for the Poison Adrena casting rods and now the 6'11" and 7'2" are showing stock on June 29. Not sure if some people got theirs shipped from early (June 9) stock but my order tracking is showing the delay until 6/29.
Does anyone have the rods? I am eyeing the 72H for frogging.
Outdoor Pro Shop/Monster Tackle in Cotati/Rhonert Park near Santa Rosa had 4 of these in store. Beautiful rod..extremely light, way more sensitive than my Levante thats for sure. Different price points I know lol. Although no hook keeper for those that are still wondering if it had one.
