Sup LMG lol #teamshimano
Anyhow ran to cabelas to pick up the new Cumara for my Spinnerbait set up. They do not plan on getting the Cumaras. So I'm checking out the 3 other ones and decided on the Clarus. Me personally coulnt justify the extra $ for d**n near identical rods even though they sport stronger blanks. Wish me luck! Btw: Paired it with another Chronarch.
I've owned the first 3 and can say they rockfor a rod at their price point. Don't think you can go wrong with either.
Yeah, where did LMG disappear?

I'd only pony up the money for a Cumara if it was for jig and worm, that is where I think they would excel and worth the extra cash. I own a Clarus crankbait rod, works well and had no issues with it. I wouldn't pay for any rod in that range for moving baits, but that is a personal preference.
I have the last model Cumara ML 7'2 for finese paired with a Stradic CI4, loveeeeee it! If I were to have gotten the new Cumara for SB I would have prob splurged for the Core as well. Lol Thanks for the heads up guys. Wish everyone a good season! Just got my 1st tourney schedule so this year should be interesting.
LMG is MIA. I sent him a pm last week to check in on him and still no answer.

Some conflict with the mods, so he moved on to a couple of forums on other websites.

The new Cumara's are leaps and bounds above the old ones in pretty much every way, the reel seat takes a little getting used to but i have come to love it! the reel seat and handle design is comfortable enough for me to use for extended periods of time. As far as how the rod fishes from a performance stand point I'm very impressed to the point where I am starting to sell some of my previous generation cumara rods.
You will use the lifetime warranty with the Clarus.
I've used the warranty once for my Clarus and that was my because the threads epoxy was cracked and started to unravel. Besides, that's what it's there for right? They also allow you to cut the rod in half to save in return shipping. Took about 10 days to receive my new one. What's another 70 rod you can do that with?
Thanks for the heads up hootiebenji. That's too bad.

I'm looking for a new wacky, shaky spinning rod and found a new maroon colored med/ fast Cumara.
Man, I like that rod but for 259.99 for a spinning rod....I passed.
I'll keep looking.

He became a "Shimanos Witness" and is out knocking on doors disturbing people's dinners/family time to spread his fan boy drivel.
I heard he was doing time for attempting to hi-jack a Shimano delivery truck.

I have both the Crucial and the Clarus rods. I really didn't like the Cumara's that I messed with. That and the price was way to high. For the price of the Cumara, I could get another Loomis.
I really like my Clarus. I got the 6'8" MXF. It has plenty of bounce in the tip almost giving it a parabolic feel. I use mine for hard jerk baits and top water. They also come with Shimano's over the counter lifetime warranty!
The Cumara is my favorite over the counter rod. The only way to get that kind of sensitivity and a comparable warranty in a rod, is to go custom.
Is that over the counter warranty serious? Like, you just take the broken rod to a store and they swap it without hassle? I heard you have to send them in now.

Last I was told by BP guys was bring it to the store with receipt and they swap it out no questions asked.
I swapped a Ctucial no questions asked. They didn't have the model I was swapping so they let me a different one.
I really like the older cumaras. I almost bought the new model but held back. Besides topwater, all my fishing is with braid and flouro leaders and i dont want to worry about my knots getting stuck in the microguides...
No one local has the new Cumaras. Hit a few more places today. Tried out the Clarus this morning with the Chronarch. Gotta say I'm impressed. Its the cheapest rod I have for personal use. (Have cheaper stuff for friends to use.) I gotta say I like it. You guys running the spinnerbait clarus, what # line you throwing?
On a side note today was my first day out this year. Nailed a 3 pounder on my first cast (cumara/stradic/blackworm) then didn't catch nothing for another 150 casts. Caught a 1 pounder then left.

At least you can fish! I can't until season opens on June 22nd, 2013.
Here opening day is 3rd weekend of April for waterbodys with trout.
I got the Clarus, Crucial and Cumara. I would go for the Cumara next is Crucial.

Whenever I catch a fish on the first cast, especially if it's a good one, the rest of the day goes just like yours did. Nothing!

I would go crazy. In KY we can fish year round, there is no season on it.
I would recommend the Clarus Crankbait rod - spent over 6 hours this past Friday using mine slinging a square bilI. No issues at all. am a cost conscious buyer when it comes to rods. I have yet to pay more than $110 for any rod in my inventory. I own four different Clarus rods (the crankbait casting, two of the worm and jig casting and one of the worm and jig spinning), a Compre Musky Rod (my swimbait rod and live bait rod when in the salt), and a Crucial spinning rod. All three are rock stars. The Clarus rods were all $79 from BPS, while the Compre was on sale at BPS for $99. The Crucial was on sale at Green Top for $69.
The OTC warranty is no joke. I use to own a Shimano 7'11" Crucial Swimbait rod I had purchased for $100. I snapped the tip by accident leaving the house one day and was able to swap it out OTC for the newer model at no cost. Ended up selling the rod, because it was too big to transport inside my vehicle and I had nowhere to store it in the house - 8' ceilings and all rooms have ceiling fans - YIKES!!!
Needless to say, the tallest rod in my household right now is 7'2" with most in the 6'6" - 6'10" range.
@Hanover thanks for info I may end up picking up another one of these for another application.
