$179.99 is the word on the street.
That's tempting.. If its better than the last one.
I bet is a downgraded Metanium ie. Heavier, no micro gears.
I dont know if i will get it a guy at my local Dick's said once they get in the new curados they most likely will have the chronarchs anywhere from $100-160 if thats the case i dont think I can refuse that offer....
Much nicer color
Smh @ shimano
If you look closely it' looks line the new chronarch ci4. Turning the other way from curado to chronarch back again. Have to wait and see if the braking sys is the same or something else. Any pics of the other side
Here are some more photos and info on the reel.

GHEY!! Only 200 sizes.
I'm hoping the 50s come out later similar to the E series.
Give it time
Should be good.
Anybody know when the current Chronarchs will go on sale? I'd love to snag a 50E or two
I think during the bassmaster classic things will get interesting. Curado's will be available, TW usually has a sale, and hopefully Chronarch E's go on clearance. 4 more weeks!
Hm. Interesting. 200 sizes only...for now, at least.
Not my cup o' tea, like smaller reels like the 50 size, or 100 Daiwa sizes.
C'est la vie. No biggie. As said before "give it time", they may release other sizes.
I've been waiting for a while to try out a Shimano reel. They're pretty much the last major brand I have left to test out. Part of the enjoyment I've had while getting serious about bass fishing has been figuring out what brands/types of equipment I like. I'm looking forward to giving Shimano a fair test. Plus, a Chronarch E is going to look pretty sweet on my Duckett
It should be the new JDM Scorpion equivalent, new spool design called S3D, 4 brake SVS, and a very recessed external brake dial.
Anyone know if the side plate will be attached like the E series CU/CH were?

It's not attached on the Chronarch CI4+ so I would doubt it.

Yes. The one I got to handle was attached.

Thanks. That was a big reason I went with Shimano. I may give one of these a shot.

That's awesome. I love my CI4+ but am a bit afraid to lose that little side plate. Fortunately it doesn't have to come off much.
WOW!
Looks like it's going to be a winner.

Bantam gave the official specs on TT

If you look even closer, you can see the thumb rest look very similar to the curado G thumb rest..
Here's one of the features that Bantam1 posted - nice to see this added:
Center Clutch Design
The clutch has a more positive engagement and disengagement with this new design. It is also a two way clutch. This means you can use the thumb pad to engage the clutch for flipping applications.
Excited about this new reel but I'm more excited to see how low the prices drop on the Curado's and Chronarchs. Eventually I'll have to try one of the new Curados after the hype dies down and there are more reviews on how they preform.
Just a heads up to anyone there is slightly used Chronarch 200e7 on ebay selling for 135 i know i should have waited but i bit the bullet and had to get one since i have never seen one so cheap, even on ebay
I cannot wait to supertune that .
Where is the external dial for brake adjustment?

It's on the underside, towards the front of the reel.
ok. Thanks.
They definitely sold me on this upgrade. I was trying to decide between the Tatula-R or spending the extra $ for the Chronarch Ci4, and now my procrastination has paid off with this coming out in a few weeks. Hopefully TW discounts ShimLoomis during the Classic again or BPS has them in stock for the reel trade in. Can't wait!
Apparently TW has had them since last year February 2013
I like the somewhat curved handle. I think those will look good next to my 200e's
Gotta try one for sure!! And also excited for Chronarch's to go on sale when these drop!!
