I am looking for a reel(100 bucks or less) to mate up with a Dobyns 7 Fury 702SF.
Daiwa Fuego, Excelor, or Legalis LT.
Shimano Nasci, replaced the Symetre the other year. Shimano guy told me had something to do use of the name “Symetre” copyrights. Just as good, I think better, not cheaper by any means.
I put a BG1500 on mine. Using light braid so I still had to lay down some backing on it so I wouldn't be spooling 300 yards of braid.

Tough to give or push your opinions. Everybody has their own gigs. Easy to be opinionated on a sight like this.
Personally for years I’ve been a St. Croix and a Shimano guy. Have no complaints. My last few setups have been Abu Garcia. I like that they put out rods with moderate and moderate fast tapers that are not hard to find. I bought not the highest end of their reels but the Revo series and they are fine.
Any Pflueger in your price range.
I've got a Stradic Ci4+ paired up with a 702S Sierra I use strictly for Ned Rigs. If you keep your eyes open you can buy a gently used one for ~$150. Other than that I'd recommend the Nasci 2500 or I've heard tons of good things about Daiwas offerings around your price range.
I've had so much success with anything Daiwa lately that I would go Daiwa. Since Ned fishing is a very "lightweight" technique, I would go no bigger than 2500 size, could go smaller. 2500 is a good all around size that can be repurposed to many other techniques.
I am a big fan of the Daiwa Fuego as a great reel for the price. My Ned rig rod has a KastKing Sharky II size 2000 on it and it's very nice for being so inexpensive. I will probably give the new Sharky III a try.
Pflueger supreme. I have the same rod i, the champion series with that reel.

X2
there are lots of good options. Cant go wrong with a Shimano/daiwa/pflueger. I would pick the one from each brand you like the best/fits your budget, and look at the differences between the three and pick which ever one you think is best for you. you are going to get a decent reel whichever way you go.
pflueger supreme 3000 - i have the exact same setup and it's perfect
Going to be hard to beat the tried and true pflueger president for $50.
I own 6 of them and love them.
Thanks to everyone for the feedback

What would be the better reel the President 25 or 30 for?
The 30 would be a good, all-around reel. The 25 has a smaller spool and only holds 90 yds of 6# mono where-as the 30 holds 145yds of 6# or 130yds of 8#.
Shimano Sahara FI, 2500 is a good reel under $100, $80 @ TW.

I have a nasci 2500 on my fury 703. Broke my Stradic which was on my 702 and I picked up a $30 Shimano sienna to use for the time being and I haven’t taken it off the rod in a year and a half. Great budget reel
Daiwa Eliminator, Fuego or BG
Ned rig was made for budget equipment.
KastKing sharky III.
Low cost. (around $50.00) Very smooth and the slow gear ratio works great with the midwest finesse retrieves.
Pflueger supreme 30
I know I will get blasted for the reel I just purchased , but I had to see for myself. I bought a KK Sharky lll 2000 for under 50 bucks with, no tax, and free shipping. Only time will tell.
A Pflueger in your price range. Size 25. You want the lightest line you can get away with and the slower the reel the better. 30 is too big for this technique.

Pfluegers are smaller than other makes. A 30 is more like a 20.

That's what I like about pflueger. A 30 is slightly smaller than a 2500 Shimano. The 25 is pretty similar to a 1000. I've used both for ned but the 30 matches up better with medium and medium light rods. Retrieve speed can vary depending on the gear ratio. The supreme is faster than the president for example

Generally true but a size 25 Pflueger on a ML especially with a technique like the Ned is absolutely perfect imo. However almost never use a rod long than 6'9 or 6'10 and my ML Ned rod is 6'6. Used for yaking and wading for river smallmouth.
