lol, it takes a big man Burley,....Well done 8-)
Atta boy Burley Sue!
I can't speak for the rest of the group but from where I'm sitting that looks like a Flooger, and a good lookin' Flooger to boot. Which one is it?
Supreme
That thing looks like a $300+ reel. Nice!
It is a nice reel, but one thing bothers me. :-/
That little sticker on the left.
Don't get too worked up about that. I just found out the other day that a few of my beloved Daiwas are made in Thailand.

It's all your fault. >
Just wait till you see what rod I'm putting it on... ;D
Just peel it off. That will probably make you feel better.

Better there than the ROC. :-X
I thought that looked like a lead based paint! :-?QuoteIt is a nice reel, but one thing bothers me. :-/That little sticker on the left.

Ugly Stik I presume?
QuoteQuoteIt's all your fault. >Nice......blame it on someone else.
Well, you're the one who pulled it out of the locker and shoved it into my hands.
QuoteQuoteJust wait till you see what rod I'm putting it on... ;DUgly Stik I presume?
No, although that would be fitting since it is essentially a Shakespeare reel.
I'll put the photos up in the AM. Forgot the rod at home.

Shakespeare reels have won a few Field and Stream tackle tests against other reels in the past.

Just messin' with ya. I think reels have the least amount of influence on one's fishing.
Thats real purdy.

Don't you mean (Thats "reel" purdy)?

uh.... :-[
Burly i dont no where ur fishing but we are close and all i can find is water 35 deg how u gonna experiment with that nice reel
nice! i picked up an 8035 a couple weeks ago, hopefully yours doesn't have to sit around waiting to get used like mine has to.
Well I hate to say it will be setting around waiting to get used. The last time we tried to hit the water 2 weeks ago everything was froze and now for his next weekend off we got 4 inches of snow last night.
All you have done is bad mouth and put down FoolGear for the past 2 years we been fishin together and now you go and do this. What happened to going with a Stradic or Stella?
Thats a good reel. Youll be happy you chose it.

Correct though you may be..., it's like the difference between the $15
Timex or the $300 Seiko (or perhaps the $10,00???Rolex) For most of our purposes, the $15 Timex serves the same purpose with similar functionality. But the Seiko/Rolex is so much nicer to look at.
Although a lot of fish that most of us catch could be caught with a Zebco 33, it's all those casts in between and the feeling of satisfaction in worksmanship that make it feel good and worth owning the good stuff sometimes. (Maybe a bit of a stretch...but not by a lot) And in the off-season, makes a nice decoration in the beloved "fishing quadrant" of the house.
A lot of us, when we see the pictures and read the reviews, are unbelievers. We have to buy it and see for ourselves....and then say...."Yep, they were right about this one!!!"
Nice reel...Enjoy.

i've tried explaining this to my buddy countless times but it never hits home. he's happy with his $35 shakespeare ugly stik walmart combo and is always baffled when i spend $100+ on anything related to fishing. this is also the same kid that has 5 or 6 honda xr50 mini bikes in his garage, 3 or 4 vintage yamaha street bikes and numerous other 2 and 4-wheeled toys, all with $1000's upon $1000's invested into them. when i make the point "well it's no different than you and your bikes" he always retorts "yeah but those are internal combustion engines, blah blah blah..." as if that's justification
to me a hobby is a hobby, regardless of how much you spend on it. i'll keep spending 100's on fishing and he'll keep spending 1000's on bikes and we'll both be happy doing what we're doing (while constantly raggin on each other for 'wasting money' on a hobby, i'm sure!)

Since I am new to the board I don't get it?????
What size did you get and what are you putting it on?

I can answer the reel size question. It's an 8030. While no pictures clearly show the model number, the spool capacity gives it away.
Ummmmm
gee, um like way to go and atta boy dude.
I think that spinning reel will look real nice on your Hannah Montana rod
Nothing but Barbie for me. That Hannah Montana is the antichrist. ;D
Yep, a Flooger on a Shimano rod. Nicely balanced. It is kind of like watching some weird Japanese porn though.

Well, Shimano rods are the red headed stepchild of Loomis rods, so...
