As the title states - what is your favorite current co-poly line ? I see the true co-poly lines as : Gamma , P-Line , McCoy , Izorline , Hi-Seas , Silver Thread and Vicious . Your thoughts and experiences ?
I've used the first 4 on your list a lot, and like them pretty much equally. If I had to choose...probably Mcoy's mean green.
McCoy Mean Green would be my choice.
McCoys mean green/xtra clear. Have it on probably 85 percent of my rods. Definitely has replaced fluorocarbon in my books.
Run 6 lb McCoy Xtra Clear on my ultralight setup and it works great. Use Hi-Seas copolymer on my baitcaster and it feels like a typical monofilament, nothing special. Hi-Seas braid is actually pretty good though, comparable to power pro except that it can be found for pretty cheap.
Check out Maxima Ultragreen. Admittedly I don't know for sure whether this quality line is a true Co-poly or not. TW say it is & the Company website calls it monofilament. Whatever the case, I'm a believer.
Maxima Ultragreen features outstanding abrasion resistance and unchallenged tensile strength that holds up to punishing runs of all sizes of fish. Used it exclusively for smallies on Erie, for Brute Bass in the trees in Mexico and for everything here in my home waters in Michigan both as a main line & especially as leader material. Its trademark strength is a hallmark attribute.
Others may be as good but I haven't found one Better.

P line cx premium
Using Silver thread, have some Izorline on hand, and want to try McCoy and now Maxima Ultragreen. Thanks A-Jay. Already have too many brands laying around.
P line cxx
P Line FloroClear and CXX
Izorline xxx, strong, good knot strength, and you get over 1000yds for under $20.
i use 25 & 30 lb. Gamma co-poly for my swimbait rod cause it's the strongest line on the market and for these heavier test lines i use it has the least amount of memory for a harder line with not that much stretch . i used to use Izorline XXX till i got a couple of bad batch spools that Izorlines customer service didn't want to make right so i stopped using it , must say it's a great line when it's good but awful when it's not ...
Maxima ultragreen is the best line I've ever used, second place for me would be p-line pf orginal. I use maxima on all my big swimbaits as well
Gamma 8lbs / 12lbs
Silver Thread AN40 6# on my 3 spinning rigs. Never get line twists and it ties strong knots. Tried fluoro but got line twists on every 5-6 casts; hated it. Silver Thread casts a mile too.
P line fluoroclear is the only one I have used but I want to try McCoy X-tra clear/mean green.

P-line c21. Dirt cheap and a great line for crankin and topwater. Bulk 1200yd spools are $8.99.
I use Yo-Zuri and CXX.
Cxx. It was easy to make the switch from trilene xt/xl to pline cxx/cx premium respectively back in '99.
i just started using co-poly line and am using yozuri and i really like it. A few squirts of KVD line conditioner and no issues with coiling or memory. Also seems way stronger than the lb test on the label.
Have used vicious , ccx, yo-zuri , silver thread. All very good lines but mcoy is my favorite line. Seems like it is only sold online . Yozuri seems to underrate their line. Their 10lb would compare to most 12 to 15lb lines in diameter and strength.
Hi Seas Grand Slam Select - great line, incredible price.
P line C21 and xtra strong.
McCoy and Yozuri for me.

Don't bother, McCoy is highly overrated. IMHO

I have tried Yozuri Ultra Soft and found it a very good line for castability. What is the primary attribute you want in a co-polymer, beyond the absoloute necessity for it to be fundamentally as strong as its rating? You want it to cast well, assuming bait casting here. And McCoy's is nothing special. Yozuri Ultra Soft is. And P Line CX is. If it casts like a flourocarbon, and it sinks like a flourocarbon, then I don't want it.
Huge fan of yozuri
Ive been using the P-Line CXX and Im having a terrible time with the line memory. Im about to switch it up too.
if you are gonna use CXX , buy a big spool as you have to respool after every other outing ...
Treat it with KVD L&L...
Been using CXX for over a decade, spools last a season or better, unless I retie a lot and have to refill.
Yozuri & Pline CX, CXX. silverthread is good as well. Softer line on spinning reels for me.
