Got a link? What is sheltons?
sheltonsclothing.com
Thanks..
good seller, no worries with them!
Many outlets selling them at huge discounts. great time to buy, that's for sure
How well do they handle weightless plastics like speed craws and light baits
I throw a 1/4oz shakey head with no problems..
Just picked up another one.. My 4th

To late. Bought mine for 139.99 last month.
Do you suppose that they are being phased out?
Hootie
Makes me wonder.
I just found it's a 30 day promotion & I think it runs out Tomorrow 4/30.
Seems like its a 30 day MAP holiday.Probably a way to get them moving. This deal coincided with a massive marketing push on them, as well as giveaways at the Guntersville event and through Dave Mercer/Mark Zona. The #curadocatch contest was a good idea as well.
I am beginning to wonder if they are not selling that well or if the they just made too many. In any case, it is hard to find another reel to compare it to at that price.
AmericanLegacyFishing has them on sale too. That Shimano reel only has 6 ball bearings.
It seems every month there are a few dealers offering big discounts on popular reels. I think it's about market share and valued sales outlets. a Good philosophy.
Thanks for the post; picked up another 1. Great bang for the buck.
Shimano's are never on sale unless they're closing them out. This one has been on sale several times now; no clue why but I'm not complaining.
Shimano reel design is successful without numerous bearings in every model, because they are not necessary. The new Curado has three bearings on the spool shaft (the new X-Ship feature), one on the draft shaft, a pinion bearing and an anti-reverse roller bearing, all that is needed to do the job. Of course you can always change the handles for four bearings if you want a nine ball bearing count. The Curado bearing configuration is the same as the $420 Metanium, which with the handle bearings has nine bearing with an anti-reverse bearing. Of course the Metanium has higher quality bearings. If you have not tried a new Curado you will love the reel.
So my recommendation is do not get caught up in a bearing count when deciding on a reel.
awesome post, thanks for the heads up.

Story of my life, girlfriend, fishing equipment, tickets, kids....just kidding
Well that's a competitor. Tackle Warehouse has them for 139.99 right now
Gander has the Chronarch for 160. Is worth the extra 30?
Some people think so.On 5/11/2015 at 7:56 AM, Nstd said:Gander has the Chronarch for 160. Is worth the extra 30?

Yeah some do. I'm gonna be honest, I like the Curado I, but I much prefer my Curado E's. Don't like the Chronarch E because I don't like white reels lol. Curado I is a great buy at the prices you can get them for, but I'd rather buy a used 200E or 50E. For some reason the I just doesn't do it for me, but the Met XG...that's a whole different story haha. John did you ever find out about the Antares HG from Japan Tackle?
Chronarch E for the win. White looks good on both the Avid & the E6X.
its a toss up for me i like the I and E. i think my next shimano will be a chronarch 50E whenever i can find a decent deal
I have not hear from JT about the Antares. In the meantime, I sold my Scorpion 1500-7 and I bought a Curado 200HG from TW at the $140.00 price. It should be here Wednesday I guess. I like how the new Curado/Scorpion looks and palms so now I will get to find out for myself about the performance compared to the Curado 200E platform. On 5/11/2015 at 9:20 AM, JGBassinAL said:Yeah some do. Japan Lure Shop has the XT1000 for just over $150.00. It will be around $170.00 with shipping. On 5/11/2015 at 11:17 AM, robster80 said:its a toss up for me i like the I and E. i think my next shimano will be a chronarch 50E whenever i can find a decent deal
