Hey guys,
I'm all out of P line Fluroclear and before I buy more I was wondering if you guys have any other line recommendations, it'll be going on my jig/ t rig rod.

I like Floroclear lines. Have a number of spools, but ended up using
my Yo-Zuri Hybrid more (since I have many more spools). 600 yard
spools can be found very inexpensively on eBay, fwiw.
For all my t-rigs, I use only YoZuri Hybrid. Low stretch, good abrasion resistance, great knot strength and consistency. I've always used it on my casting setup. I use it on my spinning setup now, too, thanks to the advice of some people on this forum. Previously I used AN40. Great line, and very versatile, but not as tough. jj
CXX P-line 12lb for casting reels and 6lb CX for spinning reels. ????
McCoy xtra clear or mean green
Yes, any other brand of line out there...except maybe Vanish Depends what you are wanting to try. You could go straight fluoro with something easily managed like InivisX, or something more similar to what you were using like Yozuri Hybrid, or a copolymer like McCoys ("Mean Green"). All would be fine for what you are doing. Sure you'll get a lot of other suggestions...
I use Gamma High Performance Copolymer in Moss Green Color. This is a very strong line & will do what you want it for.
I've always liked P-Line CX for co-poly.
I'm a yhb fanboy and I fish what line I this is best cost not a barrier. 10lb yhb is great for cranks, jerk baits and worms 12 for jigs and 15/20 for swimbaits.
Hi-SEAS Grand Slam has been really good for me.
Anyone tried the new Sufix Advance yet?
I'm a McCoy clear user. 15lb and 17lb for jigs and T Rigs. It's a super strong line and really limp. It lays nice and straight making bite detection easy. Knots tie very well too. It's the most issue free line I have ever used.
I like McCoy’s
There are several good ones. Pick one you like. I spooled some 10# Floroclear on a casting reel last February before heading to Florida on my yearly visit. Broke (too easily) a time or two the first time out with it. I had a couple spare reels with me in my tackle bag so I changed reels right away. Haven't tried it since. Maybe I got a bad spool.
I use a lot of AN40, but also have McCoy Mean Green and Izorline XXX that I am trying. Have some CX and CXX to try, but not spooled yet.
I use to use P line fluroclear exclusively until it kept breaking on me in a tournament. I switche to yozuri hybrid. IMO it’s a lot softer than gamma and suffix.
High Seas Grand Slam Select is my go to copoly.
I bought some Yozuri hybrid 15 lb, we'll see how it works in the future. Thanks for the suggestions
If you don't like it, don't write off YZH completely. I use Yo Zuri Hybrid, but I don't use 15 anymore...it's just too stiff. 12 is as high as I'll go. I highly recommend KVD Line conditioner with all YZH.
MCCOYS EXTRA CLEAR
Silver Thread AN40 17 lb is what I use for worm/jig. 3000 yard spool is $40.
I wonder why YZH doesn't make a green version as well as clear.

+1 ... Also Yo-Zuri Hybrid line could be added to the mix.
Another vote for McCoy copoly.
Silverthread Excalibur, in 10 & 12lb (for cranks & spinnerbaits, & pitching) , or Izorline XXX copolymer in 6 & 8 lb (for all plastics) been using Excalibur for around 25 years, and just started using Izorline XXX last year, with great results.
I buy both in bulk spools.
I quit using Yo Zuri as I got breaks in the middle of the spool I guess all Fluoro lines do it at times if you have had an overrun. I went to Gamma copoly and I think it's better. I also like McCoys. This year I am going to try the Sunline Defier lines to see if they are worth the hype, if not it is back to Gamma or McCoys.
I use YZH on my spinning outfits, never tried it on my baitcasting setups. I use 6lb on my Ned Rig and weightless Senko setups and it's been great.
Add one more vote for YZH.
I've never used copolymer before.
I'm thinking about trying it to save money on my bottom contact baits, is it as sensitive as fluorocarbon?

I have to try this.... It's easy to get a hold of from Walmart and everyone talks highly about it.

One of the methods to get rats nests out of baitcasters is to tighten the drag all the way down, press down on the tangled line with your thumb, and crank the reel a few times. Repeat until the rats nest is gone. I have found on fluorocarbon lines especially (and sometimes co-polys like YZH) this can cause small fractures in the line - and you get break offs later.
For this reason, I only use that method to free tangled line with braid - and I tediously “pick out” rats nests on all fluorocarbon and sometimes Yo-Zuri. Sucks, but it saves the line..

I’ve saw a great review for it on YouTube. It was from tackle advisors.
Silver Thread AN40 especially 6-8# on spinning set ups...12# on bait casters
McCoy's has done well for me the past 2 years. Mean green (12lb casting) or clear blue fluorescent (6lb spinning). Seems strong, had a few I thought would break me off for sure after running for cover in a laydown or ledges and boulders. As another user has mentioned it has good knot strength, little memory and casts well.

I have 3000 yd. spools of 8# and 12#. Both go on baitcast reels. 8# on a couple spinning reels.
I've been using izorline xxx super co-polymer in 12lb and 15lb test for years. Found out about this line while watching Flukemaster videos... I think he uses something different know, but I have had no problems with this line and at a much better price point. I buy it in the big rolls to save extra $... My spinning reel I use braid with Fluorocarbon leader.
Tight lines!

*Gamma is one I would like to try ... Maxima Ultra Green is a good co-poly as well and is almost invisible under water .
An40 12lb on casting reels
An40 8lb on most spinning reels, but I do use 10lb on one specific smallie rig.
I really liked the P-line C21 12lb on my casting reels but nobody in my area carries it, come to think of it I haven't seen Silver Thread in stores for about 10 years. The wonderful world of "just in time inventory" these days.
I don't care for flouro coated lines... Had too many break offs... Yes ,I now how to tie a knot.
not limp enough either, The CXX reminded me of Excalibur... Probably all made in the same factory.
I'd guess that Silver Thread Excalibur is simply the old Bagleys Black label line renamed, I tried it a few years back and it was as dreadful as the black stuff was during the late 80's.
Tough, but not limp enough. My wife still uses that old black label pony spool for hanging decorations in windows during the holidays
Do IGFA line rules even apply to record catches anymore ? I haven't seen IGFA ratings in years.
Though off the copoly topic. I really like Stren Magna Thin 6 and 8lb test for lighter spinning applications.
I've landed 7 lb Bass on light rods with 6 lb test while fishing Gillies, and very nice Northern as well.
Nice thin limp line.
I really liked the old black label silver thread and excalibur back in the 90's, till I got into Pline the CX not the CXX. Used 12lb on most of my casting rigs.
Just getting back into fishing after about a 20 year break been using Suffix elite, and suffix advance. 12, 14, and 17..
All my artificial lure bass to date have been on crankbaits with 12lb Suffix advance,,, cant say it is as sensitive as braid,, but doenst feel like a rubberband like old original stren and Trilene XL did.
I prefer copolymer and have tried a couple extensively.
1. Yozuri Hybrid: initial impressions were good. Touted as low stretch but am not convinced. Has a thicker diameter/breaking stength than listed. My 8lb (more like 11) is what I use for cranks and have broke off 4 times in last for outings....on casts. I also had just spooled it up for this year so it has no damage from previous backlashes. I also had a knot slip on a big bass but that may have been from lack of concentration when tying. Overall I tend to have positive impressions of YZH.
2. Pline CXX: another line that is overrated. Can be stiff and unmanagable but is very tough. Not my favorite.
3. Pline CX: Possibly my favorite. More accurate diameter to strength rating. More manageable than CXX. I use 20 pound for chatterbaits and have hauled 5 pounders out of spatterdock fields with it. I really dont see the need for CXX.
I want to try Maxima ultra green next due to thin diameters.
I lost alot of fish yesterday using P-Line Tactical as a leader. It was not breaking at the knot, it was snapping right in the middle. Big thumbs down ????

P-Line tactical is flourocarbon line, not a Copoly. What size were you using? I use the 12lb and find it to be very strong line.

My bad I thought I was on the other P-Line thread. I do use P-Line copoly on other rods and I have not had any issue with at all. I was using 8 lb line with 12 lb braid on a spinning reel. It is I use for wacky worming. It was breaking off on the hook set of which I do more reeling into a fish then let er rip.

+1 on the KVD line Conditioner - it will make you like #15 lb. or higher YZH a lot more !
