What knot would you recommend for crankbaits?
Would you use a spinning swivel to quickly change crankbaits? Does the swivel affect the action of the Crankbait?
No swivel. I use a trilene knot tied to the split ring. I put the knot inside that little groove on the split ring .
No swivel, you can use a clip and tie it using any knot you are good with.
Tom
Tie directly with an improved Trilene knot.
I tie directly to the split ring with a palomar or 6 turn San Diego jam knot.
braid or mono improved cinch on everything never had one fail

You are supposed to avoid where the ring splits. That's the reason behind oval split rings. You are also making it much easier for your line to work its way between the ring.
No swivel. I use the rapala knot.

I use a palomar or a SD Jam tied to an oval split ring.

Do you cinch that knot all the way down to the ring or do you leave a loop in it like in the video? Admittedly I don't know anything about knots but it would seem to me if you were going to leave a loop in the line like that you might as well just use a snap.
Sometimes i attach a small oval shaped clasp (not the swivel kind)
Especially when I go banking, I use the smallest I can get away with. I don't notice a huge difference, and saves time when I have a time limit on fishin. Don't use for spinner baits though.

Same here, and I never use a snap or swivel on a crankbait.

Palomar or double San Diego Jam

i've tried many different but fx2 and pp are my go to.
I tie directly to the ring. Polomar, Trilene knots work fine. I just started tying the albright knot for braid to leader. It's much thinner than a Uni.
I use a snap because it makes lure changes to quick and easy. I usually only take 1 crank rod so it has to throw multiple lures. I use an improved clinch to attach the snap and it holds just fine.
I use a swivel + snap combo. Has never failed me. Love the ability to switch up on a moments notice.

^^^ This but I place the knot 180 degrees from the "groove".

I dont want the groove touching the eye , thats why I tie it there .
No one use the rapala knot?
Palomar with an Owner snap.
So would you recommend to use a knot that is synched down or a knot with a loop? Sometimes I think when I synch it down the mainline doesn't come out of the knot perfectly straight and causes my crankbait to steer to the left or right and impedes the actions but I could be all wet on that.
I think it is better to use "knots" that are not actually a knot. All the slips are excellent knots for any bait. If I had to pick it would be San Diego Jam and a Uni. They both are easy to tie and are slips.
Palomar with a snap.
I've always tied direct using a Uni Knot. I don't want the knot in the split section of the ring. I don't want the split section of the ring to be located at the lure's eye loop. This requires more time than I like to spend changing lures. However, after reading a thread on another forum, I believe I will remove the split ring from a couple crankbaits and try a Norman's Speed Clip and maybe a Decoy Egg Snap...both with and without the lure's split ring. These 2 items look like they would not interfere with the lure's action while making it much faster to change lures,
No swivel and I use either the Palomar or Improved Clinch knot..
