I'm considering a 6'6" Herm or the Low Rider 20 6"8" AOY any thoughts?
My son has had a couple. One got broke in transit in a car wreck. He told me not to ever use his, because I would want one. I made that mistake, and fished a texas rig and caught a couple. It is an awesome $100 rod. Light, balanced, sensitive, Falcon build. That says enough. Just a work horse rod.
I have 6, 3 casting and 3 spinning. I love them. Great quality and light. My favorite is a 7ft medium fast spinning

That would probably be my favorite spinning rod to if they actually made a bucoo 7' medium fast rod.
they're light and sensitive. i had one that had specs made for cranking, but it didn't have enough power for me really. ended up selling it off, but nice rod nonetheless.
Probably the 7' med moderate but they do have a med lt 7' fast
Decent rods for the money. Their power ratings are a bit generous though. The 6'10 pitchin' stick is labeled as a heavy, but it's a true mh with a softer tip due to the mod/fast action. Also owned the 7'0 med/mod and it was the same way. A bit too whimpy for my liking. I cut 1.5" off the rear of the 6'10 and installed a new but cap I got from Falcon. It makes a great rod for treble hooked baits. Great squarebill rod for sure.
I've heard a lot of good things about them lately. In hand they feel pretty good, they're about as light as a $100 rod can get.
I just checked my rod, your right. My medium fast is a 6'6 and my 7ft is called the cranker spin and does not say if its moderate or fast. The 7ft is my favorite rod i own. It takes a beating.
The 7ft is moderate, i didnt know that lol
Here's a list of all the actions.
The "trap caster" is one heck of a rod. Its light sensitive and obviously excels with lipless baits. My only issue with the bucoo's are the micro guides are way too fragile. I don't beat my gear, but the slightest bump from another rod and I need a new guide. It is 4 years old though.
i had the 6'6" herm action with the micro guides...i thought it was great rod. mine only weighed 3.5 ounces and the sensitively was amazingly good for the price.

Nope the 7' medium light is also moderate. I ordered one because tw has it listed as fast but it was moderate. Falcons site has it listed as moderate, guess I should have looked first. I love the bucoo casting rods, but don't understand why they don't make any medium power fast action spinning rods! I also really don't like how they leave all the threads on the seats of their spinning rods instead of trimming them.

Yeah I have that rod to and it will LAUNCH a small crankbait! Just wish they would make a 7' fast action to.
I never noticed they dont make a 7ft medium fast. Thats odd that they dont make one. That would be a near perfect rod considering my 7ft medium moderate bucoo
Well I guess they tricked me to. Oh well I have the cranknspin also, used it for light cranks before I set up a bfs combo.
Ive thrown frogs, jigs, texas rigs, cranks and spinnerbaits on the cranker spin lol works great for me. I love the rod. I imagine a medium fast would be even more perfect. I love the parabolic bend on a medium moderate rod. Seems like i can keep pressure on the fish a little better

They don't make any bucoo medium or medium lt fast action spinning rods. It doesn't make sense!

Tackle Warehouse lists the BCS-3-17 Medium Light spinning rod w a fast action
Good to hear all the positive feedback. I'll keep the action in mind if I decide to buy. I was thinking mh, I suppose I should get a hvy.

That is a great rod! Very versatile. I agree about the micro guides not being very good, I only buy the regular version bucoo now, not the micro version. I'm up to 8 of them and plan on buying more.
Yeah i agree about the guides. All of mine are regular guides
I've said it earlier, but just to get an idea, I've had mine for 4 years. Sunday it's going to the shop to get a guide replaced for the 7th time. If this thing wasn't such a sweet rod other wise, it would be given away. To anyone looking at one, get the regular guides. On 10/2/2015 at 4:58 AM, d-camarena said:Yeah i agree about the guides. So what about the Jason Christie rods as compared to the straight up Bucoo?
I have one of them too. Also really light just like the bucoo. I have the 6'9" and what makes it shorter is the smaller rear grip. I think it's a better jerkbait rod which is what I use it for. Casting with two hands bothers my bottom hand on a hard cast. Totally different specs than my bucoo but I got it for $20 so I can't complain. On 10/2/2015 at 9:56 AM, WPCfishing said:So what about the Jason Christie rods as compared to the straight up Bucoo?

I don't like a short handle either. I"m totally uncomfortable with a shorty. 10" -12" works best for me.
i see TW has some new rods listed in the bucoo micro line. does anyone have info on them as there are no action ratings for them on the TW site ?
I have 7 of them myself. 2 of the 7'MH, 2 of the 7'M, 1 6'6"MH, 1 7'3"H, and a 7' in spinning. All micro, all great. Never had any real problems with the guides, the 7'M is a great crankbait rod. My buddies call it the buggy whip, just because it loads up and doubles, but for cranks it's great and light. The 7'MH as mentioned is a great trap rod or spinner/chatterbait, swimjig. I use the 7'3" as my frog rod and can pitch with it if needed. Just a great line of rods for a great price.

The rod is a great value. Think about it.. It really is quite a deal. USA Blank and hands on with good components and a good warranty. How can anybody go wrong buying one or two or more... In fact I think the Falcon line as a whole is something we should all consider.
I need a good all around rod and I'm torn between the Bucoo and Low Rider 20. They're so close...

Then I'd say go with the 7'MH Bucoo. I've fished just about everything on it and it performs great and it's Moderate Fast action lets you pretty much fish any way you would like. I've fished, jigs, worms, frogs, cranks, topwater, swimbaits (4" versions), and blade/spinnerbait/buzzbaits on this rod. It lends intself to be a great all around rod.

Sounds good but I'm looking for a 6'6'-6'8" rod with a 10" handle.
The 6'6" MH isn't bad either. I use it to fish tight spots with 1/4-3/8oz jigs and plastics.

How long is the handle?
i got one on Academy for $30 a couple years ago, it was marked at $130.... its a 7' M. it just sat there in the rod holder for about a year, as i had another rod i used for cranks... once i lend my crank rod to my dad and picked up the Bucoo.... that was the last time the other crank rod saw the water.... i also have a Falcon Cara for worms, those are the rods i use the most...
Lol thats funny because i got my first bucoo as a gift. 7ft cranker spin, never used it until i broke my cranking rod. Been using it ever since.
I have the same problem with my trap caster micro guide rod. Great blank but absolutely hate the fragile guides. The tip guide has given me a lot of abrasion issues too.On 10/1/2015 at 4:47 AM, zachb34 said:The "trap caster" is one heck of a rod. Its light sensitive and obviously excels with lipless baits. The Falcon Original line of rods is the best 100$ value of all time. Get the "Herm" and thank me later. However, I do own several Bucoo rods. They are good rods. I especially like the 7' Heavy rod for frogs and heavy top water stick baits.
Does anybody know if there were changes in the rods for 2016 other than the additional models added to each line?
Great rods at that price. I have 5.

I believe it's either under 10" or right at. I think it's 14" from the fwd part of the handle where it meets the blank. I don't like long butt sections at all. So the Bucoo's work great for me. Hope that helps.
