product description
The new REVROS LT incorporates the LT Concept of light but tough in a proven reel design. The spinning reel’s weight was reduced by 2 ounces in the 2000 model and a hefty 5 ounces in the 4000 model. The Light Composite Housing greatly inproves the strength to weight ratio while still providing a solid framework for the powerful gearing. The Machined Aluminum Handle smoothly transfers power to the main gear. The Air Rotor System is 15 percent lighter than compatable rotors and well balanced for smooth positive retreivals.

Questions about Daiwa Revros Lt Spinning Reels, 6.23: 1 Gear Ratio, 34.50" Retrieve Rate, 22 lb Max Drag, Ambidextrous-REVLT2500-XH
Q:
What is air bail and air roto on fishing reels?
Answer: Your bail is hollow. Air roto if you look down in the middle of your reel you will see how open your rotor is. All of this was for weight reduction and speed.

Q:
Is there extra spools available
Q:
Can this reel be used in saltwater?
Answer: Yes, this reel can be use in saltwater.
Answer: Amy reel can be used for saltwater. That being said, you would want to take extra time cleaning/ rinsing this one after. A true salt reel will have stainless bearings and associated components, this does not. So a true salt water real would be better. But if it's a choice between using this and not going fishing? Go fish! Just rinse it good after, and I'd take it apart and clean and lube everything once or twice a year, but that is true with a saltwater reel also. It's a great reel!
Answer: Hi, I dropped this reel in Saltwater and it became almost inoperable. It works but not smooth like before.
Answer: Thank for your question.
Answer: Yes but always rinse with fresh water after every use.

Sandy Olive : great reel

Maurice Pancho : Awesome Spinner
Love it great for small game fishing
Robert L. : Fantastic
Smooth reel for the price!!
Emil Cee : Worth The Money
I received my Revros LT 2500 XH paired with Ugly Stik Lite and tried it for Trout Fishing. It Runs Smooth with 15 Lbs Braided Spiderwire but the only Problem is the Spool which is Shallow.It will be for my Son because i do not like him to be using my Pflugguer Supreme Reel...
Bob : Great Reel for the $$ Diawa knocks it outta the "water"
Great reel, but needs to hold more 8lb test. Strikers here may spool you.
Capt. RL : Excellent quality, but don't hold any line
I'm a big, big time Daiwa user and a 30 year fishing guide. The Daiwa quality is definitely evident in these reels as soon as you spin the handle. The cheaper price of these lower end reels comes with an issue..
The issue with these is the spool is extremely shallow. You won't get any line on these 2500s. The 3000 size reels from Daiwa and their other models hold 5 times more line. It should not be this far apart from the 2500, but it is.. You might want to consider a 3000 size, I'm not kidding.
I'm keeping these for maybe lake bream fishing or something, other than that I have no use for them as we fish for large Redfish and grouper, etc. These won't even come close because they won't hold enough 20 lb braided line.
SARPER ÖZCAN : BEAST!!!
Perfect, delivered in 12 days to Turkey. Recommended. Smooth and tough reel.
Josef Wagurak : Smooth and long casting
Update: I liked the Revros LT 2500-XH so much (still happy with it) that I purchased the Revros LT 4000-C. I don't usually leave reviews of anything so soon, BUT I felt this needed one.
I was looking for a larger spinning reel (than my 2500s) for steelhead fishing and according to DAIWA's website the 4000 should have fit the bill. I am not big on using braid and much prefer the characteristics of monofilament, typically I use Trilene XL as it is slim for its rating. The 4000 is advertised with MONO: 12/160, 14/140. What's printed on the side of the spool says something entirely different. Yes the spool says 10 and 12. I have a 4000 size Shimano and a lot more line than this one. Please don't misunderstand me. I took off one star for what was advertised as a larger reel and find out is not as big as its was said to be. Much closer to a 3000 in capacity. Should be advertised with 8lb 200yds and 10lb 160yds. If one were to use say Berkley Trilene Big Game or Maxima Ultragreen, that 10/160 becomes 10/135 (Shimano 2500 holds 120yds of 10lb), far from the supposed 12/160 and 14/140 that its advertised at. This falls squarely on Daiwa, not the sellers as they are pulling information from Daiwa's website.
8lb=.010", .25mm=.0098"
10lb=.011"=.28mm
12lb=.013"=.33mm
14lb=.014"=.35mm
Monofilament (Trilene XL is a good quality line that I personally use).
Now that that's out of the way. The quality and fit and finish are good, just like my Revros LT 2500-XH. The lip of the spool is rounded and smooth. Turning the handle on the 4000 reveals the same smoothness of the 2500. The braid is PE #1.5 and has the diameter of .008" or right close to 4lb test mono. It can hold a fair amount (nearly 220yds) of braid and I may end up doing just that.
I took 1 star off my original review due to the size and capacity difference vs what was actually advertised for the Revros LT 4000C.
Original review (5 star): Bought one of the Daiwa Revros LT 2500-XH to try it out. My current reels are a bit heavy and the angle on the arm is very uncomfortable. The Daiwa Revros LT was a real pleasant surprise. Fairly light, yet sturdy and rather comfortable to use. Caught a couple of nice sized trout the first time out. A gentleman fishing next to me was really impressed with how smooth and long casting the reel was. Asked me about my line if I was using braid. Told him I was using 6# Trilene XL and not braided line. I used the supplied inch per turn and put roughly 100yds or so on. But, I do have to agree with that gentleman, this reel is smooth for sure and definitely casts a good long distance (not nearly as far as the Calcutta Conquest BFS HG though). In case any are wondering I am using a St. Croix Triumph 7' 2pc ML rod. Hope this helps...

peskiman : Excellent price
Very nice reel ! Super smooth
Isaac Engle : Solid for price
Purchased the 2500 model. I live in the northeast and fish mainly for largemouth and smallmouth bass in the 1lb to 7lb range (if you are lucky!). I use this for smaller finesse presentations like neko rigs, drop shots, and ned rigs. Handles these just fine. I agree with other posters that the spool size is smaller than that of other 2500 reels I have fished. It’s fine for my application but if I were to fish salt I could see this being a issue.
Overall I like the feel and layout, it feels similar to my Shimano Nasci at a cheaper price point. Mine did seem to have some rotor wobble and noise at first. I oiled and greased the parts and the noise seemed to disappear after mounted on a rod. Still smooth and works great.
Great price point reel. Functions much better than all the Walmart reels at this price point.
