Answer: The 4000 holds 200 yards of 10 pound test. I visited the Shimano website when ordering because this is confusing. I fish in saltwater and these reels work better than most reels in the 100 dollar range and last longer. Great choice in a reel, I changed over about 12 combos to the AX 1000, 2500, 4000 reels and absolutely love them all!

I'm confused on what the ax1000fb size is. I only see a axulsa, ax2500fb, and ax4000fb listed twice as 5.2:1 10lb 200yd and ax4000fb?

Answer: Candlesticks: I ordered an ax2500fb, however, Amazon sent me a ax4000fb reel, a much bigger reel. I have used it for saltwater fishing (Redfish fishing). So far so good. A fishing guide friend of mine uses these reels. They can take a beating in saltwater. No need to buy expensive shimano reels. These do the job.

In einem Produktsektor, in dem nach oben gefühlt keine Preisgrenzen bestehen, hat mich diese Rolle echt überrascht. Ich sollt noch erwähnen, dass ich das gleiche Modell nochmal im analogen Fachgeschäft für 12,99 im Angebot bekam.

Zum Einsatz kommt die kleine Shimano an meiner Dropshot- und an meiner UL-Rute. Hier macht sie einen guten Job. Die Schnur (geflochten) geht gut herunter und lässt sich sauber wieder aufspulen. Die Lager arbeiten ordentlich und die Bremse lässt sich wirklich fein (mein wesentliches Kriterium) einstellen. Ich bin 3 - 4 mal in der Woche am Wasser und konnte keine Mängel bisher feststellen.

I have been a shimano spinning reel fan for years. I have had lower end shimano reels last for a decade of hard fishing. I also sold 1000s of them in a high volume sporting good store.
This AX1000 was very smooth for the first few months of use. However, after a few months of use the reel gears got rough with a feeling of about to fail. In addition, the bail spring is failing. Two defects on a reel indicates the shimano quality was not what it once was. In addition , line twist seems to be a problem with this reel.

Replacing reel on my trout pole.I put this same reel through 7 years of hard abuse in both salt and fresh in the Puget Sound and the river and lakes of the Olympic mountains.It.I am a die hard fisherman and this cheap little reel has outlasted everything else.the one con would be it is very difficult to service.For the price, you can not beat this reel.I would even say that for a hundred dollars you would have problems beating how tough this reel is.I will get back to you in another 7 years!

Forse il più economico 4000 ed e molto funzionale non ha difetti,faccio notare che il guida filo e girevole memtre gli altri 4000 economici come i Daiwa non hanno questa caratteristica che è molto importante per chi usa il filo trcciato,l'ho usato anche a spinning con filo fluoro carbon e non ho mai avuto una parrucche o inceppamenti , forse ne comprero un altro.

I ordered the the AX2500. I wanted something of decent quality but didn't want to break the bank. To my surprise Amazon had this reel for $14.99. It's worth every penny. The drag is smooth and it casts great. I really can't find anything to complain about on this reel. It's just great! You will not find a better spinning reel under $30
