Answer: There're perfectly fine trout reels. I wouldn't use it in the salt, but it's a fine reel for single hand rods in small to medium sized rivers.

Answer: I don't believe they do. Don't buy this reel if you require any drag. If you want to finger fight the fish it would probably work.
Answer: for the price, I would think it would be better to just order the second reel. I do have a second spool for a couple of reels I own, however, for these, just order a second reel, maybe in different color.

Answer: Yes. Just mount it 180 degrees for right or left handed retrieve. Doesn't matter for front or back other than for your preference of retrieve.

It's a rather good fly reel - machined, not cast, and of a good quality alloy. It's really for freshwater I think, I don't see much if anything in the way of seals.
Set up for right hand retrieve out of the box, and this has a smooth action and nicely adjustable drag...in fact, the drag adjustment is probably the best part of this reel. This all said, reversing the reel is done pretty easily.
It's a good reel, something that offers quite a bit of value for the price. I like it quite a bit.

Out of the box this feels like a really high quality reel. The got a great weight and the retrieve is silky smooth. The drag is fully adjustable with just enough effort you won't do it accidentally but can absolutely crank it down when you have a fish on the line. The spool is a great size for a good run of 7/8 line and the weight isn't going to throw you. I do kinda wish it wasn't so shiny but it is beautiful. I expect many years of good fishing out of this one!

Goture is somehow able to bring high dollar quality and features to this very competitively priced reel, the Cyrax 3/4.
The reel arbor is very finely machined and well finished, with no sharp edges to be found.
The drag mechanism is satisfying to adjust and is silky smooth and quiet when engaged.
The knurling and anodizing are very well done.
A retail fly fishing outfitter would ask a lot more money for a reel this nice.

I can remember my first cane pole fly rod with a cheap reel. Fortunately, we've come a long way from those days. This reel is precision. Nothing like reels from years ago. I marvel at the quality of workmanship that went into this.

What a beautiful reel! Superb machining and design make this one good looking reel. Very lightweight and best of all, a super smooth drag. I had not heard of this brand before now and at a fraction of the price of the big name reels, it's a tremendous value. Super easy to convert to right/left hand and take apart for cleaning.

my how things have changed in the last 25 years for fly fishing equipment... ever lighter rods, computer-machined reels, and the loss of domestic manufacturing - these are the facts of life my friends...
i compared this reel - a 7/8 - to a 7/8 Browning reel i've had since the late 90s...
this one wins hands down for quality of construction and ease of use... the only sticking point was the ease of removing the spool - and with no replacements in sight, i guess not really a factor
i also compared this reel to some of my hand-made Lamsons from the early 90s' - this is a much lighter reel, and as you know, as the day wears on, the rod and reel get heavier and heavier
this reel is lightweight and strong... you'll be able to use it for light-duty saltwater *if* you take the effort to thoroughly rinse and clean it after every outing...

Not bad for the price. Operates fine except that the brake seems to slip while I'm using it and all of a sudden it's not very tight.

Okay, first of all we need to establish right off the bat that no one is going to be able to tell you how good this reel performs until they catch a fish that takes them to the reel. I'm going to give you my first impression and opinion after my initial inspection. I opened the box I found that like most fly rods, it came in a soft drawstring bag. The Reel itself is very good looking! However, we all know that that really doesn't mean much... LOL. I can tell you with the utmost certainty that this is one of the smoothest flywheels that I have had. Forward action is completely unrestricted and the drag has a very solid and distinct click. I tightened the drag down all the way just to see what it had and I was actually surprised at the amount of drag. In the description, it says that it is a freshwater reel. We are going to put that to the test next week in the Keys and I will get back to you to update this review.

I have been fly fishing for over 50 years and can tell right now that this is not just for beginners. The quality and finish on both the rods and reels is unmatched. I have very good and expensive gear now and bought these rods and reels as backup but I would be very comfortable using them as my go to gear first. Service and deli were excellent. Couldnot find out how to go from R to L on reel but finally found full explanation under goture on u tube
Jeff Wignall : Surprisingly well-machined reel with good drag system
I have to say that the Goture Fly Fishing Reel Large Arbor is first of all a very handsomely made (machined aluminum) reel that seems like a very good buy at the current price. I stopped fishing a few years ago but returned recently because I re-connected with an old friend that wanted some company (we're both catch-and-release people so it's nice). I sold off all of my gear or gave it away years ago so this is the first new reel I've had in many years. I'm impressed by the quality, the relatively easy drag settings (cork drag--though I think my last reel was something like Teflon, not quite sure) and the lightweight body and there's no back-winding at all that I'm detecting. So far all I've done is cast at sticks and things on a local stream (getting good at catching sticks) but so far I have no complaints about the reel at all. I'll know more when something is actually resisting me (particularly with drag) but I really do like the feel of the reel.

It's very light-weight aluminum alloy and the craftsmanship seems good. I like the smooth and consistent drag most of all, which is also quiet ("silent retrieve"), with the drag knob. I prefer a heavier drag setting that I can really feel and control better. Changing left to right was also smooth for me. Better instructions would be helpful, but the average fisherman can work around it and figure out the little things. Have used it only on freshwater fish so far, and, (unfortunately) only caught medium and smaller size. I may knock some of the shine off with my own "field expedient" treatments and dull the reflection, as I'm really partial to flat black (or camo) and no reflections for long-term equipment. I think it would be huge fun to try this in saltwater, though not expecting it to be on a par with the far higher-priced reels for that purpose. Future replacement parts may be a concern, as I like to be able to self-repair and modify everything I buy, too.
