Can this reel handle Marlin fish?

Answer: No, this reel is not designed for big game like Marlin, Tuna, Dorado, ect. The drag and backing capacity are not enough to utilize when looking for these pelagic fish.

Answer: No, I believe it is a 5 wt for larger trout

Answer: The rods are made in Washington, but I don't know about the reels. They are top-quality, I DO know that! You'll be happy with the drag on this reel but beware of using too much backer.

Is this reel suitable for saltwater?

Answer: Yes. This reel is suitable for saltwater use. We recommend washing it down after every use.
