Product worked as promised very happy

Sealing is the way to go : Once you figure it out things go a lot better.

I had a little bit of a learning curve that took about 15 minutes to work out. Once I got it down it worked great. One thing that helped a lot was to make sure you had plenty of space on the counter to work, and then I put a 3/4 inch cutting board in front to support what was being sealed which helped hold the bag up in place for the sealing step. I love the fact that you can seal and cut the bottom of a new bag much easier than the food saver I had from 25 years ago. The only drawback is that the 50 foot rolls of bag material won't fit in this unit. But I solved that problem by using the left over tube from my last roll to reduce the 50 foot roll down to two 25 foot rolls.

Prior to purchasing the 5200, we had one of the original FoodSaver machines for over 13 years. It worked great and was easy to use. For some inexplicable reason we decided to purchase a new 5200. I rue the day. Okay, it works, but you almost need 3 hands. The instructions on the machine are different than in the owner's manual. The area in which to wind the cord is too small and the cord, for my purposes, is too short. Feeding the plastic bag material thru the machine is a pain. Too many doors and other fold out pieces that really do not need to be there. The sucking apparatus sits too high causing difficulties in holding the bag while sucking and insuring a tight fit. This is a perfect example of taking something that worked well, and was easy to use, and turned it into a id creating piece of doo doo. As I said previously, it does work, but is a pain.

Would never recommend this Food Saver, it’s been nothing but a pain, sealing is awkward and doesn’t work the majority of the time. All it creates is huge amount of frustration.
