Both that one and this "Fezen" don't have all the bells and whistles. This unit is a little lighter and the clamping mechanism is a little clunky comparatively. To close, you press on the edges until you hear a click and then press the side buttons to release to open.
The biggest difference to the FoodSavers is that the vacuum is comparatively slow. However, it gets the job done in the end. When comparison shopping similar units, keep in mind that the product description states -60 kPa, while the manual specifications have a range of -50-60 kPa.
This unit also weighs less than the FoodSavers. However, I am actually impressed at the quality for the price. This unit gets the job done if you are occasionally vacuum sealing. I would recommend a quicker and more heavy duty unit for frequent use. I don't think I would get this if I were vacuum sealing a whole animal or if I had a larger family.
I find that it vacuums and seals probably as good as the FoodSaver FM2000 that I had. In the end, that's what matters the most for me. The procedure is a little clunky, takes a little more time than the FoodSavers and does not feel as "high end" in general, but realistically this is a fraction of the price and does the same job and takes up less cabinet space. You can buy many of these for the price of one FoodSaver.
Update: I recently purchased a FoodSaver jar sealer with hose and it works great. It plugs right into the accessory port on the "Fezen." I lightly burned myself before I realized that the heat strip activates. This unit doesn't have an accessory port button so the heat strip activates.
