To dehydrate more effectively, we recommend the following:
1. When drying more thinly-sliced food items, please use the 0.79-inch height rather than the 1.25-inch stacking.
2. Rotate all trays horizontally after 2-3 hours of drying.
3. Exchange top and bottom trays after 2-3 hours of drying.

Answer: You don't clean it, you eat it.

Answer: Yes. I put them in at the lowest temperature. 95 degrees for 5 mins. They come out dry enough to put on another layer of icing but not hard enough to write or draw on. Works great so far.

Answer: This item is a cheap brand x Chinese piece of CRAP. Mine broke after 3 months of light usage. I've since bought a very similar Hamilton Beach model. With 6 trays, about 3 lbs. of meat can be dried yielding about 1 lb. of jerky. Given 3/16" thick slices, about 4 hours should do the trick. It's like a slow bar-b-que; don't leave it unattended; taste test for your preferred amount of dryness. I prefer moister than most commercial jerky; it is easy to cut into bite-size pieces with scissors. Good luck!

Answer: No they don’t warp. I wash my trays all the time in the dishwasher and they are fine. I even washed the door and it was fine too.

Really like this food dehydrator. I like banana chips every time when we went to foodliner I have to get two or three bags that. So first time I have to make banana chip. I don’t have have enough banana and my son said let’s try apple. They took 5 hours to dry. My son was right apple taste great. Just cut too thin stick in the tray. Second time I cut little bit thick. Was perfect and yummy. This food dehydrator is easy to clean and use. Recommend.

Before I buy the dehydrator, I did not know how easy it is to make dry fruit chips. I used to buy them from stores, and it was quite expensive.
I also have a dog who loves meat jerky treats, but because of the recalls from a few years ago, so I choose the brand very carefully.
You can make almost every fruit and meat into jerky, at least you know the real ingredient of it. Slice like 0.5cm if you want them to be crispy. The process takes about 10-15 hours depends, but the result is well worth it.
