I need to replace an scale with dual needle memory, will this scale hold the maximum weight reached or just continuos reading?

Answer: Not sure I understand the notion of dual needle memory. But, mine will reach a maximum reading and if I relieve the weight by lifting with my hand, it will reflect the reduced weight.

Answer: I have only zeroed mine after each use. I have had up to 27b on them without damaging calibration.

This is a nice scale to have around the house. I am able to weight my bike(s) with it as well as little parts. I even use it occasionally as a postal scale. To weight the small stuff, I just put the items in a plastic grocery bag and hang it from the hook. The spring (weighing) mechanism rattles when you handle the scale, but overall durability seems pretty good. One word of caution though: The batteries that come with this (4'AAA') are those super-cheap non-alkaline type (I didn't even know they still made those!!!), and after about a year inside they will corrode and leak some bad stuff inside. My advice would be to go to Walmart (or Target), pick-up a set of decent batteries for $1.99 and toss the ones that come with this ASAP. Unless you run a bike shop, there will probably be a period of time when you don't use this (several months) which will be enough time for the cheap batteries to die and begin to leak.

I bought this to help the kids in the boy scout troop learn about and begin managing their pack weight. It has been quite useful, and works very well in this role.

It is not useful for weighing small items, but works for weighing larger items (backpacks). I have not verified accuracy, but it is precise (consistent measurements).

End of the day, it's a scale and it does what you would expect a scale to do. Primary goal in buying it was to weigh my bike and accessories. It helped me trim 3 1/2 pounds off my wife's road bike, which made her very happy. It seems very accurate and sturdy, the only thing that would be a great addition would be if it came with a hook on the top to hang it with.

this scale has two ways it can be hung so it can be used for weighing.
1. It has a large strap on top so that you can hang the scale from.
2. Or the metal cylinder underneath can be clamped in place by a work bench or bike stand.

Objects that are to be weighed are placed on the large hook that hangs from the bottom. How you hang things from the hook is up to you. The hook is coated thick with a plastic so the hook won't scratch anything.
The scale weighs to the nearest 0.001kg or 0.01 lb.or lb w/oz.
the massing is accurate, consistent, easy to read.
I like things that do what they are supposed to. This is a quality scale.

Left this hanging by a larks-head knot in my closet (around the clothing bar) to quickly measure anything - packs, luggage, bulky equipment, etc. Super handy, measures in varying units, and is built like a tank. Highly recommend it!

This is an excellent digital scale - very easy to use, accurate, and it appears to be sturdy. The range is perfect for a weighing a variety of outdoor items - bicycles, packs, skis, boots, bags of food, etc. In our house, these sorts of devices are usually relegated to the garage, but this one is so useful and fun to use that it lives in a drawer in the hall where we can quickly get at it. Not only useful, but really fun.

I should say a word or two about the design: it feels solid, and I really like the think rubber shielding. I've only had it for a few months, but the solid feeling and good protection give confidence it'll take some abuse and keep on going. At some point I might actually want to clamp it in a bike stand. Regardless, the pipe on the bottom is very convenient for holding the scale. Even when holding something relatively heavy, the scale stabilizes well. Highly recommended!

Got this for my boyfriend. If you're a weight weenie like him you will be using it a lot. For me it is interesting to see the differences small things make, but not a totally necessary tool. Seems to be accurate, and does stay in a work stand very well. You can also just hold it for smaller things if you don't have something to hang it from.
