Answer: Maybe the 40. The 30 is nice! But I think u would need more line and drag.

Answer: I would do the 40.

What's the 3 extra plastic washers for that it came with?

Answer: Spacers for adjusting spool height incase the line isnt laying properly. I myself have never had to use them.

How do you remove the spool?

Answer: The same way you remove any spool on a spinning reel, you turn the drag knob until it pops off and then you pop the spool off. Spend an extra $75-85 and get a Shimano Stradic Ci4+. Much better reel that is completely and easily serviceable.

I’m going to use 40 lb braid to fish for large mouth bass that may be in heavy cover. i think the 4000 would be the best size...what do you think?

Answer: Yes. With larger diameter line the 4000 is the way to go

Answer: Yes just unscrew the handle and then take the dust cover off opposite side. Them screw handle in that side and put dust cover on opposite side.

Answer: I use the reel for big bass' spinnerbaits swimbaits. I would use this reel in saltwater. Inland and also surf fishing, Cast really good with 20 and 30 lb braid lines.

Very solid and smooth reel that you can quickly service the drive mechanism to keep it clean and well lubed. The exploded view diagram that comes with it kind of sucks, so take pictures of how things fit together before disassembling anything ( except the easy to access service port located under the black cover on the right side of the reel ).

LC : Great reel for the money

I bought this reel 4 years ago. I bank fish for bass and do a lot of pond hopping. I use this reel on a 7' med heavy veritas rod that I bought for the reel. It's been thrown in the bed of my truck and dragged around on countless outings without a problem. I've used smoother reels but for what I paid for it and the use and abuse it's taken it's well worth the money. I'm thinking about buying a Revo sx when the Revo s finally gets retired.
