Spinnerbait Blades 2024

I'm looking for some beveled edge willow leaf blades, like they use on the Terminator spinnerbaits. I've checked most of the tackle making websites, (Janns, Barlows), and such, with no luck. I am looking for 4.5, 3.5 or 3 sizes. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks.

I did check out them sites, and thanks, but that not excatally what I'm looking for. The one I am looking for is on the left. I added the other blade to compare.

im not sure if barlows carries them but they have something pretty close there called

I dont know if you're making baits but the new Dr. Spinner baits come with those style blades, just got mine in the mail yesterday cant wait to go test em out

Worth has their Colorado equivalent (olympic willow with beveled edge) shown on their stock paint colors in the catalog. Have not seen the willow. They are not a catalog item so it is probably a custom die for terminator.

The blades you are looking for are made exclusively for Teminator, as long as they keep paying the manufacturer a fee to keep them exclusive then custom makers won't have access to them. I've been making spinnerbaits for over 15 years and what I can tell you is the beveled edge on those blades are for light reflection more than anything else. If you want a good blade like that look to Worth company for a fluted olympic blade, it isn't beveled but the flutes in the blade reflect light in multiple directions. You also need to go to Janns Netcraft and check out the closeouts and check every week, every so often they will have blades for terminators for sale, they are usually gold and size 3 or 5 but the are the real deal and they get them about twice a year.

I was hoping you would chime in Smalljaw, I was actually using this blade in a painted version. I got into some fish, and the wife tied on the same bait, but the blade was not beveled. I was catching 4 fish to her 1, and the only difference I could see was the blade. So I was looking for some extra blades. I have resorted to tearing apart other Terminators just for the blades.

Skeeterman, I will give that a try, see where I get. I was on their site, but I don't remember seeing any contact info, but I will give it another look.

CHRGD, Right now Janns Netcraft has them in a gold size #6, if you go and look under "specialty blades" you will see a listing for "oklahoma blade" and the pic doesn't look right but trust me, this is the terminater blade. It describes it as a mag willow or olympic blade with extra contours which is the beveled edge you want but a #6 is pretty big. The other thing you can do is go to lure parts online and they sell a wide willow that is fluted, it is a slightly different look but it does the same thing the oklahoma blade does and that is reflecting light at a different angle than the rest of the blade. If you need any other help feel free to ask and I'll try to help.

Thanks smalljaw, I did go look at them, and took some measurements, and I believe that they are the Indiana blades that come on some Terms. I took a pic of the blades I have on my older Terms. 99% of my Terms have either a willow leaf blade in a 4.5 size, or a Indiana blade in a 4.5 size. I took another pic of what I have.

The Indiana blade measures 1 5/8" 4.5 size

The Willow leaf measures 2 3/8" 4.5 size

Like you said, that #6 blade is going to be a BIG blade. I will call Janns and see if they ever get any Willow blade from this manufacturer.

I am looking to paint these blades, so I not using them for flash, it just seemed to me there was a difference in vibration, as the only difference was the big blade, hers was not beveled.

The Willow Leaf blade is what I am looking for, and again, thanks for your help.

The wide willow, as pictured, isn't an Indiana, and it's not exclusive to terminator. You'll see that one from time to time on quite a few websites, including Janns. You'll see them on Ebay, too. They have a VERY different thump than the traditional wide willow, or Olympic blade. The bevel isn't about just light reflection on them, I'll disagree with that to the NTH degree. You can feel the difference on the wait virtually immediately...

Anyhow... The Turtleback, wide willow, or olympic on the top bait is a blade that can be had, though it seems to sell extremely quickly.

The top blade is an Oklahoma blade. These blades have a crease/bend in a "Y" configuration like the one shown on the Terminatior. The Mag willow looks close, but it's creased/bent down the middle and not out to the sides. Same shape, different crease.

I have become a big fan of this blade - and I have also looked for a source of supply other than the original bait but have been unsuccessful as well.

I did find a sale on the bait itself last week for $3 bucks a bait - bought them all.

Janns Netcraft has the Mag Willows in stock. They have the Oklahoma blades in stock, but start at a size #6. The Oklahoma blades are sweet blades, no doubt, but the mag willows are a pretty close cousin. Check them out @ jannsnetcraft.com.

Hooligan may be right about a different vibration with that blade but he is wrong about the avialability. I contacted Rapala which owns terminator and I was told that the closest commercially available blade is the mag willow or olympic blade, the bevel is a patented design exclusive to terminator and can only be purchased through terminator or one of its approved partners. The blades that Janns gets is the oklahoma blade and they are allowed to sell them as they were excess inventory from an approved source and every blade will have Terminator stamped on it. The bevel design is is made by only one manufacturer and a copyright agreement is in place as well as a patent as to insure these blades are only made available first and foremost to terminator and resale can only happen upon approval from terminator from approved sources. That is why you can't find them, as they are exclusive to terminator. I knew this before as I've been making spinnerbaits for over 15 years and I probably have more than a dozen suppliers as well as 3 manufacturers that I do business with and I was told a long time ago that only a few get sold from certain dealers every couple of years, I tried to get them before and while you can find them it is usually only in one or two sizes and most likely one finish and everyone I ever came across had terminator stamped on it.

So Rapala owns them now? The info I got off an old package is Outdoor Innovations, LLC. So if I contact them, they won't be able to help me? I should maybe contact Rapala? Having Terminator stamped on them is no big deal, as we are using them on our older Terms, and we want to paint the blades.

Outdoor innovations is the old company and when you see the blades for sale they are usually overstock that was made for them but now Rapala or should I say, Normark owns them and I guess old stock from outdoor innovations probably turns up now and again and gets sold upon approval of Normark. If you contact Rapala they will put you in contact with the division that deals with Terminator.

Cool - Thanks - but isn't a #6 a fairly large blade ? Sounds too big for say 1/2 oz bait.

It is a large blade, but you can check out the Magnum Willows they have. Same shape and you can get them smaller, just a different crease. I'll PM you the link.

As far as a #6 on a 1/2 oz: I use a #6 colorado on a half oz for after ice out. It really slows a bait down, problem is, you look like you were jack hammering the road all day...LOL...what a thump it produces.

I've been searching for some Terminator spinnerbait blades. I was told that your company now owns the Terminator now. I need some willow leaf blades in the 4.5 size. I would even take some that have no finish, as I would like to paint them. I have several older baits that had painted blades, but can no longer find them for sale. Could you put me in contact with a place that I can place a order?

Unfortunately we no longer carry replacement blades. I did a quick online search and found a couple companies that do carry replacement willow blades. Below is a link to Bass Pro’s replacement blades selection. Hopefully this helps you out.

While I appreciate the link to BPS, that willow leaf blade does not have the beveled edge, like the Terms use. You are still using that blade on your Terminators you make today. I would really like to purchase 50 of them. As I stated before you do not make 1/2oz spinnerbaits with painted blades, and that is what works for us. Is there any chance you can contact the company that makes your Terms now, and have then sell me a handful of blade, PLEASE?

Now you understand why I tell those who say you can buy them that it just isn't so, what you see turn up at Janns netcraft from time to time is old stock from outdoor innovations. And when Terminator was owned by them they only had the oklahoma or turtle back blade, they didn't use the beveled willow leaf blade you see on them now. I know the company that manufacturers the blades and I contacted them and I was told that those blades are patent protected which is why you don't see other places copy those blades and Terminator or Rapala continues to pay a nice sum of money every 10 years to keep them exclusive to Terminator and that tells me they get quite a few request from us do-it-yourself tackle makers to purchase their blades. The only reason I contacted them for you twas to show some people that they are not on the open market and while the mag willo is a good substitute for the oklahoma blade there isn't any for the beveled willow. I also tried to get the Nichols shattered glass blades and they too are exclusive.

I searched their new bait on the market, and while they are still using this blade, I can not find any of their painted willows in the 4.5 size on a 1/2 oz. I see some smaller ones, probably 1/4 or 3/8th oz. I guess I'll just buy up some of the older Terms I find on the bargain table sometimes, and tear them down for the parts. That's what I was saying in my original post. You see them turn up a LOT. I used to buy them by the thousand, but now some guy name Chris has me covered.
