The Hawg Blog is now online. Rob and I will be posting content frequently to the site. Check it often for South/Mid Florida bass fishing reports, product tutorials, tips/tricks, on-the-water videos, maybe even a salt water fishing or hunting video or two.
Rob and I have a trip coming up with Captain Steve Daniel on Okeechobee. There will be a lot of video from that one...you won't want to miss it.

What does the Hawg handle do for you while fishing? Being a little longer surely helps reeling in.. looks nice.
The longer length is especially nice for crankin applications...frogs, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, etc. The extra length really adds a lot of power. We've got an elite series guy using the handle (not going to use his name because I don't want it construed as a sponsrship) and he uses it for flippin, as do many of the guys here. That extra power is nice for winching fish out of the nasty stuff.
Carbon fiber lets you go longer while reducing weight. I liken the comparison to steel shafts versus graphite shafts on a golf club. Hardly any steel shafted drivers anymore.

9-15-2012 @ Loxahatchee
Mike looks like Luke is a fishing machine. Nice bass, keep them coming.
Thanks Dwight! Luke turned seven on Saturday...for his birthday, he wanted to go fishing at Loxahatchee in the morning and on the golf course in the afternoon. I thought HE was supposed to get the present on his birthday...
Blog update (9-16-2012).
Loxahatchee tournament. 1st place: bocabasser!
Very cool site.....
I'll be out chasing salmonoids with mine tonight.....
Gonna be using my Hawg Handles Oct 2, and 3rd for the FireFighter Classic on Lake O out of Clewiston to pull some Pigs out of the slop. These handles havent failed me yet, and have made my Shimano reels more of a dream to fish with ever since they were added. GET SOME!
I'am digging mine as well. My clients and You Tube subscribers are liking them too.
Good fishing reports.......maybe some members don't read the Southeast reports, think this thread may get more looks elsewhere, like fishing reports or the general section. Better exposure for the advertisers too, a positive for their products.
If I caught bass that size in Virginia I would probably have a coronary!
We have Florida strain bass in the Chickahominy and James River but they don't look like the ones you catch.
It is great seeing pics of the big girls and thanks for creating your blog. One day I hope to fish the Disney ponds and canals plus the Okie.
Thanks for creating a very interesting site.
If you haven't seen my post on other fishing species I hawged this beauty in last weekend. The extra length give more leverage and is more comfortable to fish with, the knobs are the best part, not little slippery paddles.

Glad you enjoy it, Sam.
There's a young guy who posts here who catches some awesome sized bass out of Virginia. 12-13lbs...much bigger than any bass I've seen come from South Florida. We are certainly blessed though...we have some tremendous fisheries in South/Mid Florida that pump out big numbers of 5-8lb bass....with an occasional 9 or 10. Being able to fish in T-shirt/shorts in January is a nice bonus.
Congratulations to you both. That was a heck of a run to the north end!
Hawg Handle: it's not just for bass.
Jfrancho with a nice Brown Trout.
R.I.P. The "Hawg Trough" has gone dry. Two weeks of +30lb bags....yesterday couldn't break 10.
Redemption in the afternoon....Urban Fishing in South Florida.
Dang Mike! I was hopeing to get out with you guys this coming week.
Mike, I got a monster I'll post up later. Check my FB page if you can't wait.
Wow..the smile says it all. What a fish!
See what's on the deck?

Ooh. I do I do!
Heck of a fish right there bud. That's one awesome kool aid smile to boot.
Sweet picture, John! How big?
Not weighted - too big without killing it. Mid teens.
Very nice!
Hawg Talk with Hawg Tech!
Attention Okeechobee "Lake Rats"! Listen to Mike and Rob in the studio with Elite series pro Steve Daniel tomorrow morning.
Very well written blog....
Good stuff guys!
Hooked up on the radio....on the water, not so much!
Mike (piscicidal) and Rob (South Fla) on the radio Saturday morning, followed by a little fishing. Catch the first six minutes of the broadcast here...
Very cool, guys. Glad to see things keep going well for you. I had a feeling it would when Mike showed me that initial prototype a while back. Congrats you two. Looking forward to seeing what's coming in the future.
This "flippin" wind!
Post-Sandy conditions (cold- for Florida, very windy)...made for some tough fishing. Salvaged a tough day by flipping up a couple nice bass...plus one surprise!!
Dad-stickin!
Okeechobee fishing tough today. Improvise, adapt, overcome! I love it when a plan comes together.
PB for my Dad...
WTG Mike. Great pb for you both.
Way to go Mike! Alot of guys got shut out in the cold snap.
Lox Rox!
Very tough conditions yesterday at Loxahatchee...cold, sunny, high pressure, very windy.
Put together a little something though. Caught about 30fish, including one about 5lb. Pitching a Rage Tail Space Monkey to thicker cover was the ticket for the bigger fish. Details on the blog.

Something Different.
Took a break from the bass today, and went after some hard fighting saltwater fish.

Now you're talkin, Mike! Bet he had an absolute blast catching that one! One of the harder fighting fish swimming down here.
East Side massacre
Fishing is lights out right now on Okeechobee's east side.
Nice Report!!!
Fished their the same day right outside of the hole and did pretty good. It was like a parade of boats coming and going out of the hole.
Yeah, very popular spot now. Supposedly there were thirty boats in there on Saturday. Surprised they didn't have a ticket machine there with a "Now Serving:" sign!
Thats a sick report!
As usual great write up.....
Posted the video link. Enjoy!
