Yum dinger vs senko (in my opinion) 2024

fishing user avatarYankee_lake reply :

Well i went to gander and was looking at some plastics cause they looked fun to fish so i said what the hell... Senkos were like 6 bucks and no i am not poor nor cheap but the yum dingers looked just as good for 2.50 to 3 dollars... The label said catches more fish its proven, heavily salted blah blah blah... So then my friend bought the same exact color senko as i did yum and well i caught more in the same spots fishedbought weedless/wieghtless..

Well except mine had a yellow tip they were the same... does any1 agree, i feel a yum is better its half the price and comes with 12... they also tear easy so i get 24 for 6 bucks and not 10.. they also worked better for me

Yum dinger=new love.

fishing user avatarBoo reply :

I love Tikki Stiks! But Ive heard alot about Yum products and think Ill give them a try. Anyone tried those Senko  clones that they sell on Ebay? 50 stiks for bid prices of 7 to 10 dollars before shipping, looks like a good deal.

fishing user avatarfishinfool reply :

i'm a big fan of yum dingers. i havn't gotten any of the tiki sticks yet but i do plan on it, they have a different color scheme than i've seen on any other senko type bait. just to let you know, the senko's sold on ebay, are just rip-offs. they are good for one thing though, if you take buddies fishin w/ you and they always bum your baits, you can toss some of those at them and they won't know the difference and you won't go broke as fast!  ;)

fishing user avatarKU_Bassmaster. reply :

I absolutely LOVE the whole YUM product line.  It's about all I carry except for Flukes and tubes.  And yes I also think the Dingers are just as good as senkos plus I think the Dingers have a better color selection.

fishing user avatarMarty reply :

I have used Yum Dingers on only one pond, a pond that's loaded with small bass which rarely exceed 14". In that limited environment, the Yums seem to do as well as Senkos, but then, I have no way of knowing what would have happened if I'd been using Senkos instead of the Yums.

fishing user avatardodgeguy reply :

i carry both.there are some days when they will take one over the other.

fishing user avatarCurado reply :

I also love the whole line of Yum products. I've got some of almost everything they got.

fishing user avatarBD reply :

Yum fan here as well...

fishing user avatarHookhead reply :

Never used Yum Dingers.  I just checked out Yum's website but didn't find any close up pics of the 5" Dingers.  They boast "a unique hook slot for better hook-ups".  Someone plz explain the hook slot.  :-/

This Senko man is going broke!

fishing user avatarCurado reply :

It's just less plastic to go through on the hook set.

fishing user avatarDePoy79 reply :

i like the tiki sticks too there colors are pretty cool, and i think it gives bass a new look on the old stickworm

fishing user avatarbooty0 reply :

The Dingers are a little more resilient than the Senkos. They don't tear up as easily so they last longer.

fishing user avatarPond-Pro reply :

Yum Dingers = old love, still love

I think that the sink rate is different. There better than Senkos in my opinion, plus they are cheaper!

fishing user avatarTIEDROPE reply :

Ive yet to use the yum dingers i bought last week. Once i get my new truck ill get fishin alot more

Someone plz explain the hook slot.

It is actually a slot in the worms body that the hook sets in. So... The worm has a recess (1/8 inch deep)  in it's back that is say 1/16 of an inch wide (or the width of a hook) and 3/4 of an inch long. The hook sets in the recess and below the body of the worm.

So the hook is still weedless and the hook has less plastic to go through on the hook set. Make sense? I didn't think so. ??? Oh well I tried. :-*

fishing user avatareyedabassman reply :

Try this www.bigbitebaits.com I have been using them for along time and are as good as the senko and alot less money. ;D

fishing user avatarChris reply :

I used a Yum dinger yesterday to catch 20+ fish before a bass slung it off my hook. The senko I started to to use only took 3 bass to sling it off the hook. With alot of these baits the more mangled the bait gets the more action it has. I started off fishing it like a slug-go then after the action slowed down fished it wacky style. The yum dinger seemed to stay up out of the grass a little better than the senko but both are great baits. Yum Dinger is a slower falling bait.

fishing user avatarYankee_lake reply :

so according to who read this more ppl said yeah yums are better then people saying senkos were better... but not enough ppl to make it final.

fishing user avatarBrad_Coovert reply :

Yamamoto

ASSALT

NetBait

Wave

These are the best four stickbaits made IMO.

I was not impressed with the YUM Dingers for several reasons.

What did You not like about them.

fishing user avatarBrad_Coovert reply :

I bought several bags of 5" and 4" Dingers to try when they first came out.  I had to take several baits and save them for Wacky rigging only as they had some big air pockets in them that rendered them useless for Texas rigging.   Also, some had plenty of salt and sank right, but most had no salt and nearly floated.  The wiggle was not nearly as good as the Senko either IMO.  I had the same results with the BPS Stik-O's.

In the end, the cost of each "good" Dinger was not much less than the other baits I used, so why change brands?  Maybe YUM has improved their quality since they first came out, but after a lot of use last season these baits were just not something that I saw replacing the baits I like to use.

If I buy a bag of baits, regardless of price, I expect all of them to have good, consistent quality so that every bait I grab out of the bag is basically the same.  I get that with Senkos, Assalt, Wave and NetBait and these always catch fish for me and I have 100% confidence in them for tournament use.

I love the YUM dingers.  I have been using them for over a year now and have never had problems with them.  I have witnessed a time or two that senkos would outfish them but not enough to make me switch.  I use tiki sticks from time to time too and I like them as well but if it came right down to it, and I could take only one brand, it would be YUM.

fishing user avatarBiggerWorm reply :

I like all of the yum products.  Price is probably what lured me to this stick bait over the Senko.  I do beleive the Dingers hold up better too.  As far as catching fish I beleive both are about the same.  I do prefer the 4" over the 5" dinger.  I don't really beleive the hook slot is worthy of boasting, but it certainly can't hurt.

Happy Fishing

fishing user avatarww2farmer reply :

I have never used senkos, so I can't comment on them. But the yum digers sure do catch me a ton of bass. I use the 4"and 5" and the 4" out produces the 5" for numbers, but the 5" sure does a job on the biggins. I tried the 5" Tiki sticks this weekend, and while a caught a bunch I think I like the yum dingers better.

fishing user avatarBoo reply :

Tried Strike King 3X senko copy cat bait this weekend. Its called Zero. I like the bait. It worked just like the other senko style baits but lasted much longer. I wacky rigged and tx rigged with 1/8 oz weight and had great success. I would recommend to make the hook point come out the top of the bait and then bury it again on top. This plastic is really elasticity. They last longer than my beloved Tikki Stiks. ;)

fishing user avatarYankee_lake reply :

i use yum dingers more but i just bought some tiki sticks... It was a terrible day when i went out and i had some bites thorugh lily pads but didnt set the hook... I texas rigged it? any suggestions for that?

fishing user avatarYankee_lake reply :

wait today i had a lot of success with tiki-sticks and i bought kinami plastics they sucked lmao
