Just curious - What do you do to blow off steam when you don't catch anything all day?
Nice shot of Pappy Van Winkle 20 year old Bourbon! Takes the edge off!
In fact, I didn't catch anything today and I'll pour one right now.
Nice Musky in the avatar, what was the length?
I still don't get steamed if I get skunked, I'd rather be out on the water than in the office so I'm happy either way. But a tall cold one helps to think about what I could have changed.
If I dont catch anything I get on the internet and find out why.
Whenever I get skunked, I always feel there was someway to catch them.
I'll watch some youtube vids to get the confidence going again.
If i get skunked i get home, smoke a bowl and read up about what I could have done wrong and what to do better next time.
Doesn't bother me.
I never don't catch anything
Hook up the battery charger so I can catch them tomorrow
I go home, kick the dogs, slap my wife around, and go on a three-day drinking binge. After all, it's their fault, not mine.

And how do you celebrate a good trip?

Same as above, except I don't kick the dogs.

That would be just about EVERY day from July through October in North Central Texas. The fishing around here will improve to 'generally sucks' by Fall.
I do get frustrated at times especially after multiple outings with minimal to no fish caught. most of the lakes i fish are heavily pressured. there are some brutes in them but you must put in lots of time and effor on the water.
what is very frustrating to me is when you think you have a pattern going and you return the next day with perfect conditions and don't get one bite!
My skunk remedy.....a few Miller Lites and start up the BBQ!!
It's actuall the same thing I do when I catch 'em
I really don't need to blow off steam after a day of not catching fish. If the fish aren't biting, I can always find something else to do. Lite's too short to get steamed up over fishing.

Jackie had a question for you.
On a roadtrip, does Roadwarrior take the place of your wife or the dogs?
With 5 kids and the wife, the water is calming no matter what the catch is for the day, I rarely get upset anymore, unless everyone around me is catching fish and I'm not, then it's more of a "what the heck" or an injury to my pride....lol
One way to avoid getting skunked is to throw a line in with a soft bait on, I like to use a fire tail bass stopper 3 open hooks, I'll dead stick that while I cast out my spinner or crank, last few years when I'm not paying as much attention to that line, I'll get one on.
I love being out on the water so I never really get unhappy if I don't catch anything. It irks me a tad when the day before I KILL them, and then the next day they decide they are too good for what I'm throwing. I fish at Douglas lake here in TN, and the water levels are all over the place. One day it's up, one day it's down, and the next day it's waaaaay down. Makes fishing consistently tough.

Good One !
When nobody´s biting ----> drink beer, enjoy the scenery, listen to the sounds of nature, be happy.
That´s why it´s called fishing and not called catching.
The older I get the less I care if I catch something.
I go home Thankful for the wife , kids and grandson. have fun with them and wait for the next time i get to go out and relax on the water. with or without the company of one or more of the above.
I just think my worst day on the water is still better than my best day at work.
Jump right up from the nightmare I just had, drink a little coffee ... and GO FISHING
Seriously, take it a learning experience and re-think your decisions from that day being determined that if the same ever starts to be happen again... you'll slow down to a snails pace and fish only high stakes areas like points with bottom change/structure and/or drops etc. using smaller than normal line and baits covering every inch of the bottom. If I have an inexperienced person fishing with me and just want them to get bit to see what it feels like to catch fish, the above method is my favorite for just that. Favorite presentation for that is a C rig or Rage Rig a Craw or a small profile Worm.
Hope that helps!
I go finesse and I just don't leave until I catch something. It could take all day, but I always end up catching something. I'll stay on the water as long as I have to until I figure them out. Never give up!
Around here somethings always biting...........might not be bass, but something. First few times every year after ice out when the water is still in the mid 30's for temps is usually when I can't quite get it going, and the last few trips of the year in below 40 degree water are tough as well. Once the water hits 40-45 degrees, I usually start catching something consistantly, mostly pike and smallmouth, with the occasional walleye. Upper 40's and on is when the green ones start snapping.
crank up the tunes, grab whatever lure looks most promising and just enjoy the day.

Once on the water, never leave without at least one. Can't leave with a skunk in the boat.
hire someone to take care of the honey do list so I can go again asap
In all fairness to my wife I have to say there are 2 types of fishing trips.Type 1 is the hun this is done i think I'll go fishing (60/40 chance i make it to the lake) and then there is type 2.The babe I NEED to go fishing(99.8% chance I hit the lake).............on the I NEED to go type trip I will not leave till I catch a fish,it could take 3 days and a case of dynamite but I won't be home till there is a fish caught
While on a need to go trip my phone doesnt ring unless it is a emergency and my wife understands i get home when i get home(this privilege comes with paying for the home).
I average about 70-75% NEED to go fishing trips vs want to go trips.....................it's a happy balance in my houshold
I mostly fish a few lakes/ponds in my area so I dont get skunked anymore. I dont always catch quality fish but I can always get something.
If the bite is tough, a drop shot with a roboworm or spring worm will almost always get some dinks. A weightless t-rigged fluke jerked around submerged weeds is a good bet also. If all else fails I might have to dig up the wacky senko. If there are bass in the lake, these tactics thrown towards the bank around cover will get a bite.
