Hello everyone, I am currently in south GA and having some trouble finding a decent place to fish, so recently I've been stopping at random spots where I see trucks pulled at and see whats going on. I am from the north so mostly I would trout fish only occasionally fish for bass/pike. I really am starting to find a love/obsession with catching bass, and I was really hoping you guys could take a look at this spot I found and tell me whether I should even try for bass in here. It seems to be a really slow moving river, it really looked like the water was crawling/barely moving. Thanks for the help everyone. Also up the river a little there is tons of cover and objects in the water
Might be, might not be. There's only one way to find out
its hard to say doesnt look all that deep throw out some bread and see if any bluegills stir up thats a first step.

whats the name of the place? google that and see if you can find info on what type of fish it holds.
Unless it goes dry at times or is salt water it will hold bass.
YEP !!!
Toss a little 4" senko in there and find out. That's how I test out new waters.
Ask Dozer-some people say he can catch a bass in a puddle-LOL
Where abouts in south ga are you? The south ga area is loaded with bass.
No way to tell by looking. Go fish it. Get some polarized glasses and walk around it too.
Is that part of the Withlacoochee river. If it is there will be some shoal bass, and mud fish in it. Both or fun too catch, just be cautious of the mud fish they have sharp teeth.
yes it is part of the Withlacoochee river. Thank everyone, I'll go see what I can do today.
I just looked at the pics closer, i know right where that is.Be ready to lose some lures there are alot of branches, and trash under the water there.
:-/ have you ever fished there? I was hoping to walk up stream a little ways to find a more secluded quiet spot
Do you live in hahira ? (not stalking) If you do i can tell you about a few ponds up the road from you. There some very nice bass in these ponds. Just let me know i will give you direction.
haha yes, yes I do, I looked for ALOT of ponds but when I call the city hall they say they are all on private property. If you could help me out, I would really appreciate it.

I have fished there, Haven't walk very much. If you walk under the bridge, and go that way there is one spot. It's not very far to it. Just be careful of the black mud on the bank. It will throw you down very fast, Don't ask how i know. lol
haha ok I'll keep an eye out. I guess I'll give it a try today, but am all about seeing what ponds you know about.
Provided the water is not contaminated (can't tell by looking)
and provided it doesn't dry up during a prolonged drought,
it's a pretty safe bet that it holds largemouth bass.

Ok, what road were you near? I fish the Flint River above/below the dam at Albany. In addition, the Kinchafoonee and Muckalee creeks that merge into Lake Chehaw before going into the Flint River above the dam at Albany. From the pictures, I can not tell where the are taken. The Flint and Kinchafoonee have a lot of Large mouth and shoal bass. Below the dam, Spots and shoal bass. In the last 3 month the Flint has been way up with a strong current. The Kinchafoonee has also had a strong current, but in may places it does not seem to have a current from the bank.
Give some roads/streets you were near and I can tell you which body of water you were at.

He was close to hahira ga.
Here are some Pics from above and below the dam and the creeks.
and more
Close to Hahira is a mater of perspective. Hahira is close to Valdosta, about 70-80 miles south of Albany. The Flint goes to Bainbridge, well west of Valdosta.
Hahira is the home of J.D. ,Tim and Stephen Drew, baseball, anyone.
I'm sorry i wasn't clear. It's not the flint river. It's the Withlacoochee, or atleast the pics he has up.
From the pics it looks like the kind of place that I love to fish.
just to let everyone know I fished this spot and at 8am I caught a 3lbs shoal bass(blue silver floating rapala), but after for the next 2 days NOTHING..
keep at it you might be surprised
Could be some bass in it
Small river/creek, take you a 1/8 oz white spinnerbait and walk the bank and cover lots of water.Hit all the cover you can and make multiple shots to the good looking spots.Look for any bends.Bends cause a current break behind them. Also hit spots where it shallows up then gets a little deeper. This is one of the quickest and most surefire ways to find out whats in a place like that.
also carry a 1/4 oz jig for those holes that you can't cast a spinenrbait into.

Well guys, I have tried this spot for the past 3 days at all different times and all different baits. I still just can't pull anything out of this area, but I KNOW they're there I mean I caught a REALLY nice bass there, Thanks everyone for the advice, and I DID try it....just not working out in that spot anymore.
