Who plans to crank some Normans this weekend?
https://t.co/U5vps6mJv4
went out yesterday and did not do as good as i thought i would. cranking was a plus, but i was in the wrong places. i was all the way up a creek and it was slim pickings for cover and structure. i should have gone closer to the lake body. part of fishing is learning and i am always learning.
tight lines.

Sometimes it seems like all the bass in a lake are grouped together in one spot and that spot might be indistinguishable from others , especially in autumn .
Not here - yet. But for three days in a row the nighttime temperatures will be in the 60's and the daytime temps in the low 80's - finally some cooler weather! I'm hoping that the cooler temps pay off with some better fishing when I head out to fish on Sunday.
I cranked a couple bass out last weekend on some normans. Goofy looking eyes on them but boy can they catch some fish haha
Our water temps have dropped 10 degrees in a week with heavy cold rains causing flash floods and night time temps nearing the 30s. Bladed jig and squarebill were both working yesterday.
It has rained the past 3 days and they say it will continue through the middle of next week, then the temps go up to high 70s. I'm cocked and ready.
I'm ready!
If you don’t have a few Norman crankbaits in your arsenal or have never fished them I consider you a rookie fisherman. Sorry just my brutally honest opinion. ????
Yeah it is!!!!

What a beast. Get a weight?
I don’t have any and I am definitely a rookie. I like throwing cranks I guess that’s next on the list to check out.
Threw cranks to a 4th place finish last week in my club. Was slow but that was the only thing working for me, dealing with post front blue bird sky’s and a turnover
It's starting to get too cold for me (chemo makes my hands go numb in the cold), but I did have a lot of success fishing cranks this year. Along with the dropshot (which I didn't get to fish a whole lot), crankbaits were a lure that I planned on fishing more of this year since my youngest son catches a ton of bass on a crankbait, and I sure did.
I had great luck early and late in the season with a Norman Fat Boy -- it's wide wobble moves water almost like a spinnerbait, but I believe I caught even more fish on a River2Seas Ish Monrow Biggie Small which was quite effective for me all year round.

Oh yeah that's by PB. I just started fishing in June lol. She was 26 inches and 8 pounds 2 ounces. I swear my scale is light. She seemed double digits. Still exhilarating!

Started in June and you caught a hog like that? Happy for you but jealous at the same time. Congrats dude!

The picture of the lure with a bent hook that’s just classic! It needs to go with the mount.
I bet you go out rite now and start throwing square bills you won’t hardly catch anything you got that giant at the perfect time perfect day and perfect moment to be throwing that specific bait. It happens like that, sometimes.
its fall buzz bait time down here. lost count sunday on number i caught on a white buzz bait in the dying pad stems. Caught six on consecutive casts at one point. as soon as it hit the water you could watch them wake up on it from ten feet away. crazy fun.
we just got two days of cold rain. so i'm going at them again tomorrow.
Temp dropped from 84 to 59 today. Tomorrow is in the 60s. Should be the kicker we needed to get them moving

I would've loved to put the same lure but I lost it when a monster hit it a few feet from the bank. Line just popped... I look at the top eye and the insert had broke and a sharp edge was shredding the line. Gonna have to order a replacement cuz academy didn't have another. Of course I drove straight there after it happened ... ????????????????
Cranks,Spooks,Traps OH!my its what Fall's about for me????
We seemed to have skipped fall and gone to winter and monsoon season in Northern Texas
Even I got into the act before the cold weather from Canada dropped on us.

It’s gonna be cold in Texas this year above average 2018/2019 from the yearly forecast I’ve been seeing on YouTube. And it’s gonna be dry and a warm winter for us in the west coast ???? dry not a good forecast hopefully they are wrong we need the rain and snowpack.
Still too hot down here in South FL. November and December are my best months. Looks like we may see some 60 degree nights at the end of this month. I Did have a great day last Sunday morning with a top water spook, caught 11 in less than an hour. It was interesting, the bait fish were breaking the surface but the bass really were not but thankfully there were still going for my spook on a regular basis.
Squarebills have been the ticket up here in SE New England the last week or two. Don't think there's much time left though, night temps are getting down in the low 40's here....
I got on em with a brown DT last Sunday but it's gonna blade bait weather here in another week

Is that an echo?
Nope. I believe its a SK KVD Square Bill in neon bluegill.
In my last 4 trips I've caught 49 bass, probably 45 of them on cranks. Of the 45 on cranks probably 35 on a squarebill. Yesterday I caught 5, threw deep cranks, spinnebaits, jigs without a bite All 5 were caught on a 3-5 foot running squarebill.
Water temps were 52 on the cold end, 57 on the warm.
Thursday was cold (air temps high 30’s) and 10-15 MPH winds. Not a day I wanted to be out there but I love a good crankbait bite and it was on last week!
I had to substitute a spinnerbait for crankbait because of a massive out break of skunk weed . Havent missed a beat .
Crushed them on an h2o squarebill yesterday, those cheap suckers are absolutely legit. Nice fish, @LuffDaddy!

Thanks bud! For some reason the bite has just vanished here in Central Florida the last two days. I keep getting pickerel when I throw the crank now haha
I'm going to try my luck tomorrow at my local lake. I'm mainly going to try out a new rod that is supposed to be delivered today providing it survives the journey intact. Hit and miss on rod survival during shipping.
Other than some cooler temps, water temps dropping, lake on a slow rise again, leaves turning color, it isn't quite fall here in SoCal yet it looks like.
I'm not really anticipating having a knock them dead day, but one never knows without at least trying. I'm just going to grind away and see how she goes!
They're holding to the upper water column in the cold water here in the afternoon. That works great for me because deep cranking is out of the question because of issues with my left hand. In-line spinners and an occasional taker on a 1.5.
