Bass season is just around the corner.
The ice is on the thaw and the days are getting longer. Its time to put the shotgun on the rack and oil up the reels.
I dreamed last night that I caught a 7lb bass on a t-rigged powerbait lizzard, which is clearly prophetic.
And now that I have a job, my good old friend the baitmonkey will never go hungry, infact I'm feeding him right now.
Bucket,
I have to meet with a client that has a fantastic bass pond on his property to discuss a situation that will occur later this year so we made the appointment for the latter part of April when the weather will be warmer.
Hey, you and I are thinking ahead.
Can't wait for the appointment!
My season won't start until late April, but I'm sniffing hard!!!!
Here in Georgia the winter has been colder than any in recent memory but each day I look at my boat and start getting ansy. Since I really only got back at fishing last summer, I can't wait to go during the spawn and maybe nail a DD.
3 begrees BELOW Zero F. this morning in Cleveland. When I tried to "take a big sniff" my nose froze > :(

Shorts, flipflops, and a tshirt here. LOL
another 6 inches of snow and degrees in the teens sure made it hard to sniff around here, but i still have faith that spring is coming sooner rather than later. IT BETTER! >

Getting up to 40 the next five days!!!!!!
Hopefully it will last ;D
I think the temp is supposed to be about 60 degrees tomorrow. I live on lake Guntersville in AL where I can walk to the water. The question: What will I do tomorrow?
Reality, I prefer boat fishing to bank (pier) fishing; so, the Yamaha/Triton will be running for most of my fishing.

Season? My season never ended, Ive been beatin the ice off my rods for weeks now!
im not getting excited till the water hits 50 degrees. in kansas i might be waiting a while.
Aw, come on guys. The high was 20 degress today and there is 6in of snow on the ground.
If you cant smell it in the air, go open a bag of powerbait.

Matt,
I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I don't know what you are smelling?? Yesterday, it was 8 degrees with snow on the ground and I only live a few miles from you. It is 10 degrees this morning and the snow is still there. Optimism is great, but I am not taking the cover off my boat just yet. LOL
Ronnie
Well ive been smelling it for a month. But here in SE kansas all the lakes have been frozen over for a month and the ice is to thin and ice fishing isn't for me. But tomarrow its going to be 70 and sunny and the old ranger and I will be on the water.

Enthusiasm?! Optimism?!
Tisk tisk.... what is wrong with the older generation? When it was 8 degrees out, I was running around town in just my underwear (my BPS brand underwear, mind you!) leaping and shouting "SPRING IS HERE!!!! SPRING IS HERE!!!" and handing out fishing magizines to all the little children to promote the next generation of anglers.
The funny thing is, "enthusiasm" and "optimism" are the exact words the police chief used...... :-/
OK where you handing out things to children in your underwear those poor kids, lol ;D ;D ;D but I don't know what you guys are talking about, that smell is there air we breath down here in Texas all year long, hope you guys enjoy the whiffs

Was low 20's this morning, so hit the heated water at the power plant. Good way to get over cabin fever...dress warm and head out....
Can't wait to get a bad case of bass thumb
supposed to be 52 on sunday and i went to the fishing show in worchester last night. getting a little to ansy for my own good
The record low temp for this area was set last Tues an -29 degrees. Record snow of over 180 inches so far this year have hit the area, but why am I smiling?
7 more days to the start of my fishing season. I leave the snow and ice of Northern NY for the Kissimmee/St. Cloud area of Florida next Saturday morning. Have one week left to get the boat and truck loaded and ready.

you lucky dog.
take lots of pics for us iced out guys.
I just went out to shovel off my boats this morning "after" it warmed up from -7. The only thing I can smell is the price of oil running through the heating system to stay warm inside.....
68 here in Carolina. Weird because it snowed just this week. Time to get the boat floating and reels oiled. Im READY FOR PRESPAWN.
Just last Thursday I was sitting on 8 inches of ice. Now it's 52 degree's and supposed to get warmer. Come on global warming! Do your thing!
