Okay, so You know those days when nothing goes right, and you have one disaster after another? Well i think i almost took the taco today. so here is what happened today
wake up with non-charged dead batteres
1st time ever happening , but my boat came free from the dock and was floating away, luckily i was able to hop on another persons boat to retrieve my boat ; but when i hopped onto his boat i fell backwards onto my head in a kind of half backflip (feet way up in the air.)
So i get on my boat , and first thing i noticed was there was still 1 old screw hole that i had not been able to plug (installed 3d structure scan transducer , and few other ). so now my boat is slowly sinking.
when i turned to check the water level again i noticed that one set of acessory wires was on fire (yes i had a fused on that, but still caught on fire). great , my sinking fireboat. great. So my reaction was to just remove the wire on fire (which had not burned through 4 or 5 other sets of wires ) , well that was't smart cause i grabbed a bare wire that was on fire and sliced my index finger very deeep (one of many times i would gush blood ) .
as i spend the next 2 hours trying to put it all back together so i can go fish , i end up I slcing both my legs really bad where they are gushing blood , 2 shin brusies , 1 bad lump on my writst and one more deep slice for my right index finger, so im covered in blood and sticky sticky black undewater hole plugger stuff that has found its way into all of my open wounds. I had spent 2 hours trying to rewire everything and i go to relaunch , and no, i managed to get the black goop everywhere but the leaking hole. r
So I manage to get my boat back on the trailer. where i spend the next 2 more hours rewiring all my accessorries and plugging the leak in the lake parking lot of oreilly autoparts parking lot. I had to replace the majority of my boats wiring . By the end of it , its now 4pm, i had gotten to the lake at 1030am.
so i get on the lake by 5pm, guess what ? trolling motor batteries got no juice, so im without a trolling motor, and there were more major malfunctions and i caught no fish.

Man, that's a full day.
Since you've endured a couple of years worth of Bad JuJu all at once, perhaps you're due for some good karma.

sorry about your bad luck, but maybe now youll learn to prepare a little better before even leaving your house. perhaps create a checklist of things to look over on the boat and do so the day before your trip. being prepared and organized can be the difference between fish and no fish

you are more determined than me my friend. after the fire and boat leak I think I would of called it. working in a parking lot is no fun and when im frustrated my workmanship is not good

I seem to always be able to cast and get a lure hung-up in places that I couldn't do if 5 million dollars were on the line and I tried all day but I will stop complaining after reading this

I had a day like that a few years ago while duck hunting. A buddy of mine borrowed one of our friends boats. We go to load it and while we are throwing in the decoys the boats start sinking well pull it out and no plug. So we let it drain and thank God I had one in a bag that I had brought. Put it back in the water and get ready to launch and it start sinking again. WTH. Take it back to my buddies house and find out that he took the depth finder out and forgot.
So we decide to go get my john boat. We load it up and take it to my dads on the ohio. River we were only going less than a half of a mile. Start up the boat to head over to the island and water is running fast. Well as we are pulling in the island the engine quits. Forgot to fill the gas tank. I said tick on it we would hunt any way. Put out all of the decoys and set up the blind and hide the boat. Well after an hour of nothing a boat comes up to us. Well it was DNR. Both my buddy and I are by the book guys. He checks our licenses and starts talking to us. Said the only way he spotted us was he could see my shiny boat even though we tried to hide it. Then we got to talking about our guns. I was using an over and under but my buddy had his benelli. The officer asks to see it. My friend had forgot to put the plug in because he was target shooting the day before. Well there was a ticket even though he had only loaded three shells in it and had the plug in his bag. We go back to hunting and forgot to ask for a tow back to the dock. So now we have to paddle back but it is upsteam and I only have one oar. I had to point it straight across the river and by the time we got to shore we were over a mile away and had to carry the boat back to Dads property.
Made for a long day but many laughs over the years.

You make me feel better about my " bad" day on Tuesday. I ran over a curb with my trailer en route to the ramp. No harm, no foul just hurt my pride a bit. Then get the boat on the water with the assistance of my girl, park trailer, get on boat and crack a cold one. Life is good. Idle to first spot, drop TM. I dip my seiko into chartreuse dip and remove the lure. Then I drop the entire full bottle of spike it die on the drivers console of my white ranger. Chartreuse dye everywhere. I am able to get some cleaning supplies from my girls parents who live on the lake. Get most of it out. Then go back to this main lake point. First cast, massive strike, feels like a 5+lber. I have him hooked good and get him halfway to the boat and he comes loose. Then I remember I got hung up the night before on a log, and it straightened up my octopus hook. I look at the hook and it needed to be bent back. Totally lost that good sized (estimating) fish because of my failure. I casted to a few high percentage areas and then took my trolling motor up, got off the lake and grilled up some steaks.

some very expensive, some exiremely bloody, some life changing
But that takes the cake

i have two of those small holes in my boat where i took off old transducer to mount structure scan and ive been on the water 8 hours and barely anything gets in. i need to fill them. but havent thought about it enough to actually do it yet
or did i put screws back in those first? now i dont remember

I was thinking how good all my fishing trips had gone for a long time now.I've got a system now, and as long as I stick to it, things usually go well.
Enter my new(used) kayak.Somehow it keeps filling up with water.I thought it was the lack of a plug.So I used a large pencil type bobber to plug the hole.I had about 2 hours when the wife and mom went out.So I hastily get everything together and at the last minute decide to take my cell phone just in case.So I find a ziplock bag and make sure ( twice) that its sealed.I head out and get to my first spot. I keep checking where the phone is to MAKE SURE its staying dry.I probably checked 10 times and its high and dry.So in the meantime I get a large fish that followed my baby brush hog.It engulfed it and swims off.So I swing and the fish pulls off.Dang!So I fish a little more, look over, and now my phone is lying in water and it somehow seeped into the bag.So I paddle all the way back home with the yak full of water( again)In going as fast as I can to dry the phone iut( usually sticking it in a bag filled with rice will save it.So I get home and there's only 1 small bag of rice so I supplement it with some garlic mash potatoe mix.So now the phone smells like garlic and still doesn't work.
So I regroup during the afternoon and find a couple small holes and patch them.zHeaded back out in late evening and caught 5 or 6.But I missed10 Including 2 big fish.Can't seem to get the hang of setting the hook in a kayak.Yak leaked a little but not as bad.I think In going back to my familiar Jon boat.And I'm almost back on track with this NEW phone.

Gushing blood for hours and you didn't bleed out. I'd say that's pretty lucky in itself.
