I'm excited to begin reading and digesting the info inside
Good deal! Take your time though I think it's impossible to digest it all in the first reading. Even after many, many years, I still find small things that I overlooked or simply couldn't understand properly the first times through. My reading copy is highlighted, page marked, and referenced constantly

Awesome - enjoy the read!

Cover reminds me of those old Disney outdoor films that were narrated. Looks like a really cool book. Might have to pick up a copy.
Certainly worth it the buy. Perry's writing style is entertaining while also very informative.
I plan on picking up a copy of this book soon after hearing all the interesting things being said about it.
Y'all think reading that will make winter pass easier?
Wrong!
Now y'all gonna wanna get on the water to apply what ya read!

I'm in Florida - we have no winter

I appreciate the vote of confidence.....but I am a very slow reader
Ha ha, I hope it grabs a-hold of you! One of the first things "Buck Sez" is that he's not a writer, and he's got the writing style to prove it.
But there's a wealth of info in there.
As Team9 said, it's one of those re-read sort of deals, things from this book will sort of "hit" you at odd times like the middle of the night or during a slow fishing trip, etc...

Yep, and one other comment for all you guys reading it for the first time. Don't hesitate to ask questions when you come across stuff that doesn't make sense or needs clarification - because you will have questions -

Yup ~ and even when read & studied a couple of times, until you "see it in action" and are able to prove it to yourself; "Spoonplugging" could seem like many other "How To" bass fishing periodicals you may have read. When in reality, it is so much more .. .. .. ..

Are there any sites that have them for less than 20$? I looked at quite a few different places and couldn't find anything less than that, but it seems like there should be some more reasonably priced than $20.

Nope, not unless you get lucky and find one online or in an old book store or garage sale where they might not know the value

I ordered mine today on eBay for $22, but shipping was $11. This was directly from Buck Perry website though. I inquired about the shipping and they use two day priority with insurance so it makes sense. I did a bit of searching and did not find it any cheaper, so your best bet is probably to order directly from them on eBay.

Same here except we have a rare winter storm coming through that dropped temperatures below freezing here and ice everywhere. Supposed to be back in the 70s next week. ?
Has anyone ever noticed that the older fishing guides and books are considerably outdated? I tried reading up on a few bodies of water, and a few older books on presentations, and just bass in general, And it seemed like everything in them was quite.... wrong. Now, I expected the ones that were issued about a specific body of water would be terribly inaccurate, but the others I was in shocking disbelief. Is this book any different in that aspect? If it is I might pick one up for some light reading.
I read that book back in the '70's when I got my first tin boat. You can still get all Buck's products here:

Interesting that much like BP's writings - even responses about the info seem timeless . . . .

@Team9nine & @MFBAB maybe we'll have a few more with the proper definitions!
Well, I just ordered a copy of spoonplugging . Hopefully it's worth it, it sounds like it will be. Never paid that much for a book before.

In the long run, if read with an open mind and a willingness to put it into practice, it will catch you a lot more bass (and all other types of fish) than a Megabass jerkbait will for the same amount of $$ lol

Good point, I guess I should be a little more willing to pay more for information than lures.

I'm gonna swing by Half Price books and see if I can't get lucky with a copy there. I've picked up most of the fishing/hunting/guns books and magazines at their stores for considerable discounts.

In another book thread @Smallieseeker mentioned Goodwill stores often have a surprising selection of books sometimes. Might be worth a stop. I saw they were selling several I-F books online last night.

I may have to stop by after work. I will probably be in the direction of one to get gas and go to the grocery store so it will definitely be in my path.

You never know what you'll find in the thrift stores, they tend to be pretty disorganized but I've found one or two gems doing that. Also, just on Amazon you can find some of the classic fishing books at times for basically 1 cent plus the shipping cost (3.99), not really sure how that works but I'll take a shot on almost anything for $4
