fishing user avatarSoFlaBassAddict reply :

I'm thinking about going this year. Trying to work it into my schedule right now is the only thing holding me back. I didn't make it to the last ICAST in Orlando and swore I'd do my damnedest to go next time it was around here.

fishing user avatarGatorbassman reply :

Glenn is going but I'm staying at home. Wish I was going though. It's always a good time seeing you and all the other friends we have made over the years.

Is ICAST open to the general public?

fishing user avatarbuzzfrog reply :

This simple answer is no. You have to have a pass and it is only sold to companies, buyers, and press.

fishing user avatarBassn Blvd reply :

Eric, I'll go with ya if you can get us in.

fishing user avatarSouth FLA reply :

I'll be there with Mike representing our company as a non exhibiting manufacture, more news to come later.

If I drive up, can I piggy back with you guys to get inside?

ICAST is NOT open to the public - that includes looky-loos riding in on somebody's coat tails. Everyone is there for business purposes, and don't have time nor patience for window shoppers and gawkers. Simply put, you'll get thrown out - seriously. They don't kid around there.

Hate to be blunt about it, but this needs to be crystal clear.

Bobby - You're on! I'd be delighted to join you and your crew!

Good deal. Hope you guys are able to get some potential business out of it.

Doug, if I go up, I'll be working with a company that's got a booth that's debuting their products here in the states. I've been invited to go, just not sure on my schedule at this point. As much as I want to go, I've got a few jobs that have unexpectedly come up down here that have to take priority.

What I really want is to get a contract with a couple of the companies that build the bigger exhibits. Seems like most of those are pretty set in stone though. :(

fishing user avatarBassn Blvd reply :

So much for that idea. If we get tossed out then there's always Disney World.

What kind of companies are allowed? Mom and pop businesses or big corporations?

Just curious, I know some of yall have in the past. What exactly is it that you sell?

fishing user avatarBassn Blvd reply :

I'm at ICAST here with my partner Robert (SouthFla). I'm a first timer and to say it is a bit overwhelming is an understatement. I know I walked 10miles yesterday and I still haven't seen everything I want to see. It's virtually impossible to name all the fishing industry leaders that we met yesterday...Got to spend some time with Steve "Big O" Parks, who is every bit as gracious and encouraging in person as he is on this forum. We met Glenn...a great guy.who you can just tell his integrity by talking to him and by the way he conducts this forum. Robert and I discussed with Glenn about becoming sponsors of this site and we are very excited for that to happen. We plan to launch our first product in the coming week.

Overall, it's been an awesome experience. Attended a very useful seminar yesterday. Met many leaders of the fishing world. There's a ton of elite series pros here. Spent time talking fishing with Skeet Reese yesterday. Talked with Chris Lane who was doing some video shots with my friends at the Gambler booth. Had a beer with Chris Zaldain and Brandon Palaniuk at the hotel lobby Wednesday night. They approached us having seen our product and showed considerable interest toward it. We're very encouraged about that.

We're having just a great time here. I'm literally a 40 year old kid in a candy store. Bobby, I'm going to try and find you today. Anyone else I've missed, please send me an IM.

fishing user avatarSoFlaBassAddict reply :

Very cool, Mike. Glad everything looks to be working out for you and Robert. Having seen the product you guys are working on, I can't blame the guys that are interested. :D Definitely going to be a good seller in the near future. Wish I could have made it up there to hang out a bit with you guys. I'm stuck down here in the middle of a putting together a giant proposal for Fiat. :(

Can't wait to hear how everything worked out once you guys get back into town.

fishing user avatarSam reply :

Glenn, if there is a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Orlando I bet Big-O would love to take you and the gang there!!!

The Bait Monkey can strike any where at any time about anything.

fishing user avatarGotfishyfingers? reply :  :cry4: Darn, wish I was there. I like the fact it's in Orlando, not Vegas.
fishing user avatarSouth FLA reply :

ICAST was a blast! I had a great time networking and seeing all the goodies! I would like to thank fellow board members, Glenn, Bobby, Shane, Mike, and Steve for all your help in making contacts that can help Mike and I in the future, this community truly is great!

Congrats to both Robert & Mike. You guys have worked hard to bring a quality product to market. Best wishes to you both. Great support team here at bass resource. :respect-059:

fishing user avatarpiscicidal reply :

You're right, Dwight. Such a great support team here at Bass Resource.

Bobby Uhrig, it really was a pleasure meeting you yesterday. You are doing it right. Your company, your products and support staff are all top notch. Robert and I really appreciate all the great advice you've given us and we thank you very much for your help and helping us establish new contacts.

And Steve "Big O" Parks...I can't express how much Robert and I appreciate your help. We are just so impressed by your enthusiam, your knowledge, and your support. You have literally changed our business model (and for the better). Whatever accolades you receive on this forum are not enough.

Thanks, again, to Glenn and the entire Bass Resource staff. You guys are top notch also. This is the best bass fishing site on the net, and it's not even close.

I am already looking forward to seeing you all again at ICAST 2013.

fishing user avatarBig-O reply :

Enjoyed meeting you and Robert as well ;) Your ideas are on the money and know you'll do fine with them... Keep it up! At my age, I'm just glad that I can still get an idea every now and then :Idea3: Enjoyed seeing Glenn too, he stopped by the 1st morning and we caught up on things. It was a busy day for sure.

fishing user avatarGlenn reply :

I enjoyed meeting everyone at ICAST this year. It's like a big annual reunion of sorts, and a great opportunity to meet new friends as well. Robert, you guys have a great idea and I can't wait to showcase it here! Looking forward to helping you. Big-O, it's always a treat to talk to you. I think the members are going to like the video we put together. ;)

And Bobby - had a blast as always with you and the crew. I always look forward to see you guys every year. Next time, we ARE going to get you on that slingshot! :)

I also had great conversations with the Pinnacle and Power-Pole folks.

I'm convinced we have some of the best sponsors in the industry. It's going to be an exciting year next year for certain.

fishing user avatarBobby Uhrig reply :

All of your bills and invoices have been sent in the mail-

fishing user avatarroadwarrior reply :

I was hoping the Megastrike logo would reappear in the sponsor's column.
