i think we should invite some pro fisherman to a pond and see how good of a fisherman they really are . ;D
Be carefull what you wish for
I think it's North American Fisherman magazine that does that every month. They talk a pro into going fishing with them on a body of water that the pro has never been on, and then they give a play-by-play of the entire trip. Pretty entertaining, really.
In general, they don't do as well as you'd expect.
If ever KVD would come to my everyday lake and fish against me that day you could easily put your money on me cuz I 'd whup him good, let KVD fish my everyday lake for 3 days then I would not be that shure I 'd whup him, give the man a week and I 'll be putting my money on him.
Just because a pro is a pro doesn 't mean the person is unbeatable, they are human operating at a level you could hardly level in the same circumstances.

Bassmaster does that bit. "A Day on the Lake with ______"
Ya... ide also like to see a guy like me compete on a big tour event. I guarentee I would do well.
I consider myself a pro. Just not sponsored. Been fishing for 20 years. Bass fishing mostly as well.
These pros are great fisherman period tho. Very experienced and educated. I bet they'ed smoke me most of the time.

Make up your mind. Would you do well against them or get smoked most of the time?
I know I can't compete with them.

Wow, I must really be a pro then. I've been fishing for 30. Imagine how much of a pro Catt, Marty, RoLo or any of the other old farts around here must be.

How much extra would it be to force you to use braid and spinning gear only?

$20 000 and an extra mini-fridge stocked with Red Bull and tapioca pudding.
I get a kick out of Bassmasters a day on the lake.
I mean when you ask a pro what the biggest mistake amateurs like us make i say 96% say " They don't have confidence in the bait or they change baits to often"
But when those guys do a day on the lake, they change lures like ever five minutes ;D

Some of the lessons I've learned in life whether it's fishing or another activity 1. There is always someone better 2. Don't ever over rate yourself and under rate the other person. 3 Proof is in the track record while sitting here posting and making next to nothing many are making an above average living in their chosen career.......bet on the favorite
60 years experience with last 10 fishing everyday and even on my home turf I would probably get smoked by a top pro.

Ahh, I see you have a problem playing the ponies.

Fixed that for ya. That statement now correctly applies to Burley.
;D
For those of us who have fished the Bass-N-Bucks, Bass Champs, Media Bass, & Texas Tournament Trail, we have competed against many of the Pros regularly.
While I haven't won one in a few years I have finished higher than many Pros on more than one occasions.
There are many who are not "touring" Pros but but Pros none the less
I think if you went head to head against a pro without any practice on an unfamiliar lake then you might win one day but where the pro shines is when you do that ten times and they win 8 or 9 out of the 10 times. I have been fortunate to fish with some of the Elite guys and they can process water and information much quicker than a weekend warrior can.
There have been a few that have struggled on the "Day on the Lake" articles but most of them catch 15+lbs (some pushing 30lbs) so I would say they catch them pretty good as well.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that cracked me up. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I would really enjoy fishing with a pro on my home waters. Screw fishing against them.
Burley has upgraded this thread. But that is how a pro rolls.

There we go. I'll take the back deck, and likely be a better angler by the end of the day.
unless there's money on the line there's no point in trying to figure out who's better than who as long as your on the water weather with a friend or a stranger at the end of the day you were fishing witch is a grate day
Something that you have to realize is the fact that all of those guys more than likely caught their first bass out of a pond. I think they would do pretty well lol.
"City Limits" is just like that. Ike goes out on a body of water he's never fished and has a certain amount of time to catch his limit. His only "advantage"? Fishing with a local who knows the lake.
That said, I fished in a tournament against Gary Klein on a lake he had never been on before where he only had 3 hrs prefishing the day before. He not only won, he absolutely smoked the field of 200+ teams.

iiiiiii dont think so.There are a lot of pros that live right on lakes and fish them a lot because they're their home lakes and a lot of times they dont make it very far in the tourny.

...i would put my money on a great local angler over any pro any day if there was no preparation for the lake. Finding the hotspots on a lake is a daunting task, i have my money on Raul any day. It's just logical. After a few days of prep, well, the tides start to change.
