Here's the "official" fishing buddies map.

The more people that join this, the better it will be! Network with those in your area and make new fishing buddies!
To join:
In the upper lefthand corner, click "Join!"
Then it will ask you for your city and state (it will guesstimate based on your ip address, but this isn't always very accurate). Type that in. Then you can add more details like your username and a "shoutout". In your shoutout, please list if you have a boat or not, what lakes you like to fish, etc.

Aint Texan is the one to thank for the original idea, and Peter mentioned a kayak-fishing sight that had a frappr map.

Personally I like the idea. I am going to sign up as soon as I post this. We try to keep as few stickys up as possible so there is more room for everyone's post on the first page. We will bring this up in the Mods forum and decide what to do with it. Thanks for taking the initiative to get this going. It's a great idea

If I get some time while in Iraq (sometimes I get REALLY BORED) I'm going to make a master list to post up somewhere for those that can't get to see the map with flash. That will be a project...but shouldn't be too rough.

Very cool but just a note. Glenn may have issues with using the name for liability reasons, please run this by him via PM. He had to step out for a day or two but is due back shortly. Anything involving the name or branding must cross his desk first. Thanks

I guess I'll PM him with the "Fishin Buddy" link and all the post threads. I can see why they might want to drop the "Bassresource.com" part incase The_Muddy_Man is actually The_Axe_Murderer or something like that ;D

Very cool idea. I'm in. Got a 14ft jon with 2 seat. Not completely ready to take out yet but should be soon. Back seat is usually empty and I'm always ready to fish and meet somebody new. On the same token if anybody is looking to fill a backseat I'm up for fishing somewhere new too. Don't mind to drive an hour or two.
