Current Air Temp is 53. Barometer 30.07 and rising. Bright blue skys. Wind N 7mph. Expected high is 64. Time now is 10:22 AM EST. Should I go? Hmmmmmmm.
Duh...
Rw. Its tough to fish at the lake I go to when it's a clear blue sky. You see the picture of the Cypress Lake on my posts. Average 6ft. No real drop offs. Slowly tapers to the edges. Post front. A storm just passed yesterday. What do you think?
"Cypress Lake".... that's not Lake Cypress in Florida, is it?
Banks Lake in Lakeland Georgia. That's where they filmed the movie "Gator" with Burt Reynolds in the early 70's. It's about a 25 minute run from Valdosta, Ga.
Ya can't catch 'em from the couch!!!!!
Anyday fishing is better than, well just about anything.
Whether you catch 'em or not.
This past Saturday I fished a 3 hour jackpot air temp was 57 degree's
water temp ranged from 46-48 degree's and it rained for the better part of the 3 hours that we were on the water.
We didn't get anything in the boat, my partner lost one, but 11 of 18 boats weighed in fish and 1st was a 5.8 largemouth, 2nd was a 4.8 smallmouth.
(I had said in an earlier post that the smallmouth weighed 5.8, my mistake.)
Go get 'em
I would atleast enjoy the day on the boat, but that's just me, cause I have snow, ice and crapy weather to deal with....lol.
I'm loading up the boat now. I'll be leaving shortly.
good luck! let us know how you do
Any day of fishing---is better than staying home, sitting on your couch in your underwear watching TV wishing you were fishing. It probably will be a slow catching day but you will be doing what the rest of us trapped in offices or hotels wish we were doing. Glad to see you went --we will be awaiting the report. 8-)
I caught 3 keeper bass and 1 Pike.
Yea!
Getting out there was the right thing to do. Congrats!
It was a good day. I tried a different area to no avail. I went to where I had been catching them and caught 3, bang, bang, bang on a Bill Norman crankbait. Water Temp topped out at 61 degrees.
Way to go--- You did the right thing. It is getting to be the right time of year to have some fantastic fishing.

YOU WANT TO KNOW IF YOU SHOULD GO FISHING???????
Current air temp 22, barometer 29.66 and steady, wind out of the North at 15-20MPH, snowing, wind chill around 8 deg., .....come on up here and shovel, and I'll go down there and fish......
Yankee. Spring will get up there soon.....
Man, you just had to know what we would say...............

Guess you're glad you went out! Congrats!
Avid. Your weather should be better than mine right?
I'm new at bass fishing and I have questions.
Can you fish for bass at night?
If so what should I use? jigs, spinnerbait, spoon
Thanks
Lorenzo
Actually it's kinda cold here in Florida too, it didn't hit 80 today. Break out the long sleeves!

GRRRRRRR......................
Toss a line. Lord knows that when I've gone in perfect fishing conditions, I struck out. And when I went during sideways rain and chocolate milk water, I boated bass on a weird bait. It's the thrill of the hunt brother!
Now aren't you glad we twisted your arm and made you go fishing!!!!
R-TRAP- I'm looking at 38 degrees, 20mph N wind, blue skies. I also have a UPS truck with approximately 150 stops, 400 or so packages and a boss who wants more stock options so he's cut more resources than necessary.
Do I go in to work?
wanna trade decisions?
Yep. I'm glad I went. The bruises from ya'll twisting my arm to go will eventually go away. ;D
