I'm planning on throwing bigger baits, and fishing the outsides of deeper structure this year. I'm guessing this means less bites, and bigger fish. I'm also planning on fishing a a place 25 miles from me, that I've never fished before. On a local bass fishing website, i'm always seeing 6,7,and 8 pound LMB being pulling out of there. The state record LMB is 11.5, so I'm planning on having a BIG year in 2010.
I'm going to predict my biggest Largemouth bass of 2010 will be 8 pounds 3 ounces, shattering my Colorado record of 5.10.
My biggest SMB is...lol... 2.13. I've only caught about 6 of them in my life and I'm planning on fishing for more of them in a lake I don't fish to often. So I predict my biggest SMB will be 4.4.
How about you? How big is your biggest bass going to weigh in 2010? Make sure you put in the state you think you'll catch it in.
I'd be happy to break 5 pounds this year, which I didn't last year.
Headed to Lake Fork the last week of March so I guess I'm crossing my fingers for a double digit.
As far as my home state of Colorado goes, hoping to spend enough time on the water to catch a mid-4lb smallie at P-lo. I too plan to hit up raccoon city so hoping for a 7lb largemouth.
10+
If it gets late in the year I'll go spend a few days on Falcon. That should do it.
Well I don't want to jinx myself so I'll opt to look like a jack@ss and say just a smidge over 18lbs ;D
Smallmouth: 12 lbs 4 oz
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
QuoteI'd be happy to break 5 pounds this year, which I didn't last year.
same here. my fishing buddy and i have a deal whoever catches one 5 pounds or over gets a steak at the finest steakhouse in town, the other person has to buy. this is the year though, for me. i can feel it
QuoteSmallmouth: 12 lbs 4 oz;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Well let me be the 1st to congratulate you on breaking the long lived record, beer and steaks at your place I presume?

Good luck with that RW! Please e-mail me photos of that hog the moment you get them on your computer.
My goal is LMB 12lbs + from GA.

VA and snowballs chance in hell I'll get anywhere close... but I'll be fishing more lake with trophy size fish this year and can see myself pulling a double digit out of briery creek
Thai, that is the body of water to get it done. That is my choice too.
I'm guessing I'll get more that one over 10#. Might get a 12#.
Its going to be a good year! ;D
8lb+ smallie on Erie, western basin (Sandusky)
10lb LMB in Ohio? (It could happen, but also going to KY Lake and Gville)
I plan on camping out on Toho this tournament season so I'm gona say 10.2
I'm gonna say 7lbs and hope for bigger. I caught 7 fish last year between 5-6lbs. and my wife caught an eight.
The bass in my avatar was 7-12, caught last October. If it made it through the winter, perhaps it will be just over 8 come the spring/summer and I can catch it again. So - the goal is 8 lbs.
i would be be happy with 10+ i have had several double digits on i think but never landed one. Couple years back at Lake Fork i put a 9.6 in the boat
Going down to clear lake for the elite series and am hoping for at least a 7 pounder! well see though...
I will break 6 lbs this year. Illinois.
Gonna shoot for 8lbs+ first. Break my old PB by a good amount.
Then I can shoot for double digits by 2011.
I'm hoping to finally break the 10lb barrier.....Won't go so far as to "predict" it, but that's certainly my #1 goal.
My PB is 9-12, and I netted a 14-6 (yes, 14-6) for someone I was fishing with last December, so my appetite is more than wetted.
Hoping that 2010 is the year....
BEN
My PB so far is 9lb 11oz caught last year. Since i have a trip booked with George Welcome to the Marsh next month, i will say double digit for sure.
I'd like to catch a 6# SM this year.
My goal is 5+ pound LMB from ohio/indiana in 2010.

I'll be there that time as well. It's home sweet home for me. Best of luck to you.
As for me I'm just hoping for a 10+ this year. Last year I caught 3 PB's on Fork, each one getting bigger, with the last one going a little over 9. So I really do think I'll break into the double digits this year.
I'd love to break my PB. I think sticking something like a 13 lb LMB would do nicely. I'd also love to get into a 6 or 7 pound Peacock.
I predict my biggest will be 7+ and it willl come out of Shearon Harris lake in North Carolina.
My goal would be to beat last years of 11.1 pounds, but realistically I would say at least 10.5 pounds.
10+ I landed a 8 lber last year and im looking for that double digit fish this year in Florida
I'm hoping to join the DD club this year. I came somewhat close last year with a 7lber but it should be good this year w/ all the rain. Tight lines.
rewriting the record books, new world record largemouth 30lbs.
7.5 pounds Ohio had a 7.25 last year LMB 6.5 pounds New York had a 5.5
last year SMB
I landed a LMB last spring weighed 9 lbs. 8 ozs. out of my pond I go to, I'm hoping this year I can get her at 10 pounds. It would be my new PB.
hopin for a 7# LM and hmm how about a 5# smallie out of OH/MI/IN
Currently my PB is a 4.6 pound smallmouth, and a 3.14 pound largemouth. Looking to break 5 pounds, either smallmouth or largemouth, or both!
Quoterewriting the record books, new world record largemouth 30lbs.
i like your style, lol
Don't ask me what it is... but last year I caught 4 bass that each weighed exactly 7 lbs 5 oz! And two were in the same day... so at this point I will settle for one that goes 7 lbs 6 oz ;D
Illinois
I predict a 13lb lmb but what I realy want is an 8lb calico and I think I will get that too.
I would like a 5+ largemounth and a 5+ smallmnouth on my home lake. I am also fishing a few other lakes this summer like Erie, st-francis and hopefully two mountains. Each of these lakes can easily put me in the 6+. So thats my goals 5+ at home and 6+ on the road.
Mine will probably be a 4 pound smallmouth bass out of lake st. clair.
Already caught a 6.9 last week. I hope to break 10 this year, but after a cold spell here in Alabama, there is ice on the water again.
10 again, I've hit it 3 years in a row and hope to do it again. Wish I could get the 15 lber I've had on my line a couple of times.
I caught a weak (just under) 6# smallmouth in Ontario.
I will be looking for a 5+# smallmouth and a 7# largemouth in Ontario....those are BIG bass for up here.
Going for a PB
6lb+ Smallmouth from Lk. St Clair
or
6lb+ Largemouth from any lake in Michigan
10+ LMB
5+ SMB
1.5+ Bluegill
2+ Red Ear
20+ Striper
I will have the pleasure and priviledge of fishing lake Guntersville several times this year and predict I will catch a LG mouth over 8 maybe in the double digits..and will be fishing lake Pickwick so hoping for a 6+ smallmouth. Good luck to all and God Bless.
Hoping for a new PB LM....SM and Walleye
LM...7-3 or better
SM...6+
Walleye..6+
i would like to catch a 16# lmb it would be the mass. record
6lb. Smallie and a 100 fish day.
QuotePredict your biggest bass of 2010
I'd guessing around 70 lbs from New Jersey
Striped bass are included, right? :-? :
Roger
Share-A-Lunker
Landed an 8 pounder today, lost one at least 10 pounds. So my goal this year will be that 10 pounder that got away from me today!!!
;D Id rather not jynx myself lol
I make no predictions but hoping it comes on a fly rod, I wish we had striped bass down here.
I'll be pleased with at least a couple 5 or 6 lbers.
4lb in Wisconsin.
The goal is 12lb LMB...not all of us So. Cali guys nail big uns every outting...
Also I'd like to get a DD striper, never fished for those before.
Im stuck on 8lbs ive got 2 which ill take being in michigan but eventuly need a double diget! Im gunna go largemouth 7lb Smallie 5.5lb. I think thats reasonable I'm on a streak of 4 years with atleast a 6lber so i dont intend on ending that
My "BIG MOMMA" will be 9.25#'s and will be caught in Florida LAST WEEK . Oh wait, thats not a prediction---thats braggin'.
im gunna say right around the 4.5lbs mark.
BUT id be thrilled to break 5 pounds!
And on my new lake, I think thats a real possibility! Stay posted! ;D
QuoteThe goal is 12lb LMB...not all of us So. Cali guys nail big uns every outting... ;)quote]Heck id love to break the 10lbs mark, but those kinda fish are hard to comebye in this part of the country!
lmb-27 lbs
smallie-16.5lbs
So I don't jinx myself I am going to shoot low and say 4 lb.
I'd say 5 pounds on a smallie
and 10 on greenies
Maybe my uncle will take me stripper fishing, alas i have no idea how big they get so, 50lbs!
Hello,
I am looking for that 16-pound that I caught in the lake in my backyard in 2004. I caught him on a live Bluegill that was larger than my hand and used my Muskie/Pike rig to catch it.
That's my goal - a 16-pound Bass for 2010!
Lets see in Indiana...my largest ever was a couple years ago on a small, hard to get to watershed was 25" 9lb. caught on a LC moonsault chart. shad crankbait. I would be tickled to break double digits.....10lb. 1oz.
going to try and break my PB LMB of 5lbs 14 oz.
Moved to ottawa Ontario thin month and will shoot for a 6lbs 14 oz.
I am going with 9lb+
My goal is an 8 pounder but I would not be at all upset with a 7. I know they are there, its just up to me and a little luck. I got my digi scale, my tape measure, and my camera all ready to go.
Im going to hit the strip pits in Ohio hard this year and hope I get lucky enough to get a replica for the wall.
Bigger than my hand.
Tom
I'd be happy to break the 5lb mark this year. Had a lot of nice post spawn fish that just missed the mark. DOH!
QuoteI'd be happy to break 5 pounds this year, which I didn't last year.
X2

50 Lb Stripper! You'd probably need to drug test that one.
I just love to fish so size don't matter to much as long as i catch some but I'm going to fish the bigger lakes in NY this year so I'm hoping to get at least a 7# but if not that's OK
88 lbs.

...or check their ID. ;D
As far as stripers go, as in striped bass...I know of at least three caught from kayak that were over 50. Several over 35...
i'd be happy if i caught anything over 5 pounds
I'm in MN fishing for dinks from the sound of it. ;D
I'm hoping for a new PB, which would be 6-2 or better.
I'm not sure how big my biggest is by weight, but for length wise, I'm looking for 19 inches, which is master angler in Nebraska. The lake I fish out of about 99% of the time, the biggest I've gotten is 17 3/4 inches. My skills, I hope, have improved enough to be able to get one of those 19 inchers, or bigger, out.
Hoping to catch another monster like this one...
If I succeed, I'll probably have it mounted...or put on a key chain or something.
5 pounds..the big one always gets away
Easy. 6+ pounds.
A number of them.
At my double secret pond that right now I am the only one fishing.
Gunna be fun looking at this thread in few months to see who hit their mark, and who didn't.
60 degrees here in Boulder today and every pond is iced over. Complete torture!
QuoteHoping to catch another monster like this one...

Right there with ya Stasher 1!
I'd love to go double digits but I'm not necessarily thinkin it's gonna happen this year. It'll happen when it happens.
I'm shootin for 7+ plus this year in NC
