How long has this new site been up???? THIS IS HORRIBLE!!!
Been up for around a week and a half. But if you want to throw the criticism out there an explanation of might help.
I like it..

Thank you for your expert opinion. That helps
I love the new layout!!
the new look is anything but horrible, it makes things a lot easier than the old site if people would give it a chance and learn how to use the new features. the only thing that bothers me about the new look is the board is no longer centered, but is now justified to the left....
Like it.
Like anything else, it takes time to get used to change. I find nothing wrong with it. I like it!!!
Another vote for "love it"!
Fine improvement of the old.
If you never saw the old, and registered now, there would be no problem with appearance or function. Any gripes are simply because it has changed, and is awkward to use until you navigate around a bit, and get used to it.
Still getting used to it but slow but sure figuring everything out.
I love it. It's beginning to feel like bassresource again.

It's human nature to resist change, especially as one grows older.
But if ole coots like Fishing Rhino and myself can acclimatize, I'm sure you'll be fine.

WHY ?????????
I see you very seldom post , it might take you a few years to like it.
I like the new format a lot, once they let me log in
Perhaps some constructive criticism would be received better than just whizzing in the soup.

I personally really like the new layout and this is the first negative opinion I've read. 1 out of 31K plus members? There will always be someone who doesn't like the accomodations.
Just take some time to navigate around and you'll get used to it.
If you get confused which I did just ask a question.

This thread helped to realize how that little red minus button works.

I agree, mine also works. I think the new site is great, much cleaner looking.
Well, to be honest, i am not a fan of the new colors, kinda miss the old. However, in terms of improvements on the site, i think they are great. Just my ten cents
I'm not sure as to why people are voting down his post? Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Constructive criticism would have been a better route, but are we really grading the guy because he doesn't like the new layout?
I think everyone here believes in having their own opinion, and constructive criticism, but when someone tells you that you are horrible, I think we are now down a different path.
You say Tomato, I say...Tomatto?
Give the guy a break. He probably logged in and was abruptly slapped in the face with an entirely different website. Some people aren't so conditioned to change as others are.
I posted about this the first day it was back up. What I don't like is the color scheme. It is harder for me to read. I don't know if it's because my vision is worse than normal due to cataracts growing or simply because the color combo is tough for me personally. I had the same problem with an airgun forum I frequented. They went from a brown background with all black print to a white background with black print in the threads and blue print where this site is green. Much harder to read. Maybe some of it is my monitor. I'll have to check this site using my old computer. Monitor on it is better.
I didn't put the old monitor on my new computer because my grandsons use the old computer for gaming. Figured I'd leave it there since all I do online is read.
I've yet to figure out how to edit my posts after it's been published, also spellcheck/correction function does not seem to appear. I won't say the site is horrible but I did prefer the previous version. Reputation buttons, knowing what forum another member is viewing or how many people have looked at my profile are functions that don't interest me, all the power to people that like those features.

Snook, once you have posted something, you should have an edit button at the bottom of the post, thats where you would edit your post.

I hit that button a thousand times, it doesn't work. Let's see if I just figured it out.

Cool, I did it. Didn't realize I had to open post in a new tab or window. Thanks.

What are the + - buttons?

It gives people reputation and you can press it if you think the post is good or not
At the risk of getting some justified or unjustified bad press I will say, I don't understand what the + or - buttons intend to accomplish. I'm new here and it took me a while to figure out what I needed to do to get back on. I got it done and I don't usually have any need to have lots of features but I certainly don't understand this feature. Does anyone have the ability to really explain what is actually being accomplished by these buttons ? Maybe there is a search function I could do that will explain it for me.

If enabled, you will see reputation options in the corner below each post. You may see an icon representing the reputation other members have given for that post, along with icons to give reputation. To give the post a positive reputation, click the icon or to give the post a negative reputation, click the icon.
I understand this, but what is it's purpose ? What is to be gained ? Is information being collected for some reason ? Is this a solution to a need ? If so what is the need ?

Hey Get. here's a quote form Glenn from another thread:
"Hey guys, don't make this out to be something more than it's meant to be. For quite some time, we recieved feedback to have some sort of way of "voting up" a post, or being able to "rate" a post besides just saying "x2", which some took as a meaningless way to add post counts.
So there you have it. It's now up on the site.
The "reputation" part is meaningless, other than an indicator of how many "x2" responses you get. LOL!
Let's keep it light hearted folks. There's too many negative things in life already.
Thanks!
Glenn"
Glenn, forgive my ignorance for not knowing all the functions on this site yet and used a copy/paste function here.
Just think of it as an "Agree/Disagree" function.
Thank you Jigfishn10
