Hey folks!
If you've been around here long enough, then you know this is the time of year I introduce major design and functional improvements to the site. Today is one of those days.
By now you're noticed the forums look a little different. I've introduced a "refresh" of the forums with a cleaner look. I've also made changes to the navigation menus to reduce clutter and make it easier to move about the site.
Plus, you'll notice we have a little contest going on. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter, and you'll be automatically entered for a chance to win a $250 Bass Pro Shops gift certificate to spend how you choose!
Enjoy!
Glenn
I like it Glenn. Thank you.
I like what I'm seeing
I thought my browser or firewall was corrupting the view...lol
I feel like I'm getting squeezed from the right, just a bit
Nice, Glenn! I like it! More COLOR! WOO HOO!!
I thought it looked different - well done and thank you! Looks nice!
Good stuff - thanks!
Looks good!
Mike
When using on a phone it makes the screen wider. When I look at my notifications I have to scroll to the right. No biggie though
LOVE THE LOOK. great job
Looks good on my computer, but the mobile version takes a lot more scrolling than the previous.
The content is what makes the forum, but a change of scenery now and then is nice. **** job.
Keeps us old timers on our toes.
Why does good show up as **** ?
I like the user name area being a different color so its easier to distinguish between posts when scrolling quick.

May have fat-fingered and used a "k" instead of a "d"
Love the fresh new look!
Everything looks compressed to the middle of the screen. I prefer the old design much more.

Agree. The mobile version may need a little tweaking. Found the notification, but it was pretty far out there
Looks good, thanks Glenn !!!!
I like the old mobile version more
OK...more feedback...the ad that vaults into the middle of the screen...annoying. I get that sponsoring advertisers want space front and center...but that's almost as annoying as the thingy on photobucket that has me considering moving all my photos...
I thought my side must be doing something different, but okay change, it works
I appreciate the updates. If anything, it keeps the site from getting stale. Where is the link to the contest for the gift card? I saw it at the top the page when i originally opened the page, but ignored it because i was afraid it was just spam and now i cannot locate it.
It should appear on your next visit to the site. If not, you can visit other sections outside of the forums to see it. Alternatively, you can subscribe to our newsletter here.
Any of those will enter you. But remember, only current subscribers are eligible to win. In other words, you can't subscribe then unsubscribe shortly thereafter.
I like the new style. It's working fine on my android phone. Everything is centered and easy to read.
New site needs a bit of work on mobile side.

Yep, thinking the same thing.

I have about 20 PMs all saying the same thing.
No reason to think I don't know about this.
The fix is not easy nor fast. It may take a few weeks to sort it out.
Thanks for your patience!
I also like the old style, faster and easier to browse on my iphone. Any possible to make it like theme option?
Another thing, the banner on the first page is too long for iphone so the screen will move side way. Anyway to make it auto fit according to screen size?
Take your time, Glenn. I wasn't complaining, just offering feedback. I'll live with whatever you decide is best.
I got a big ad for mystery tackle box that goes clean off the screen!
Great looking update! Thanks!
I liked the pre rapala version better...
I thought it was my phone glad I saw this!
I like it, Glenn. Simple, easy to read and understand. Good on the old eyes. Nice.
The new layout is going to certainly take some getting used to on a desktop. The layout is a bit wonky and everything feels very compact and things are in odd places.
The mobile is very difficult to navigate and do anything that should be a simple task. I'll probably stop getting on here with the mobile site being how it is now.
Thanks for all your work on the site, Glenn. I know this is still in a beta phase so I won't point out individual things. Also, this is raw feedback and not meant in any way to be discouraging or hurtful.
Just on my end personally, it looks like the overall feel and design of the forums took a step back in format and looks. Sure, design isn't everything, but the look just doesn't scream modern or attractive. I thought the previous forum update before this one was a really good design and helped update the look; this one makes the forums look about 5 years older.
However, I'm 16 and I'm wanting to go into some sort of marketing major and probably working with graphic design and I'm OCD about presentation and display, so it's probably just me. It doesn't really deter from the way I use the forums, and as always, will take some time to get used to.
I haven't looked around too much but I already have noticed some helpful little things here and there that make the browsing experience easier, so it's not all negative feedback

I think it looks good.
Maybe I cannot find it but I miss being able to read a thread and with one push return to the forum home screen.
Since the last update one has to back out of a thread into a grouping of similar forums and back again to the home screen.
I like being able to go from the general forum to the everything else forum with a button click or the fishing gear to fishing reports forum.
I was on the fence about it, then made one post using Firefox and now I can't post anything or reply to PM's. I can't figure it out, thought maybe I got banned. I click in the reply box and it's like a field you can't click in. Had to log in on Chrome to post this.

Yup. Look at the top green nav. It's there. We tried to hide the link by calling it "Fishing Forums".
Hey guys, if you're having problems (aka "it won't work"), please...
Clear your cache and restart your browser
That will solve your problem. Please do not PM me about it. I cannot offer personal assistance.
I like it Glenn!---Thanks
My favorite so far is comment merging. I don't recall the old version doing that, but me likey. Thanks Glenn!
I like the new site!
I think that's been around for a bit. It's a little more seamless now. It's a great feature if you want to add more than two pics per post.
