A 11# catfish while bass fishing. She was everybit of 30+ inches. What sucks is I thought it was a GIANT bass because it was fighting so hard and got really excited till my dad netted it.... then I was like WT.H.
Caught bigger saltwater fish though
Huge Mako near Ocean City, Maryland, no idea about weight, on a "jig" made out of a Bud Tall Boy can and baited with cutbait.
Woops, sorry, this is a FRESHWATER thread, LOL.

11# Bowfin
10# Drum

5+# SMB
22# Brown Trout
18# Steelhead
34# Chinook
18# Northern Pike
I caught an 89 lb spoonbill (paddlefish) in Oklahoma about 15 years ago. Not sure about the length, but it was over 60" for sure!
Sturgeon, St Mary's river, Michigan........no idea but a good 5 feet on a nightcrawler.
Many muskie on Lake St Clair in Michigan
Only 20-30 inches. It would be different if redfish counted
43" Northern Pike <> Jig & Strip

8lb. Mudfish (bowfin), at a lake here in Ft. Pierce. 15 Lb. Aligator Gar in the North Fork of the St. Lucie River, And my PB 7lb. Largemouth, in another lake here.
48" musky trolling a spoonplug on small lake in northeastern Ill.
30-40 inches
Caught a big old mud cat out of the Monongahelia River in Pittsburgh, PA that went about 10+ lbs. Caught it on a Mepps Bucktailed Spinner near a sewer outlet and some guy asked me if I was going to eat it. I said heck no and he asked for it. I gave it to him. We need a barf smiley for such things.
43" striper caught in the delaware river. We were using live herring.
Mine is a 45' 25lb musky caught on the Potomac, on top water. Now that was fun! ;D
Caught a grass carp over 50lb last year on a Mulberry! Saw them feeding on the berries that were falling into the water from the tree so I gathered some up and skewered one on a Mosquito hook on my UL with 4lb fireline and cast it under the tree. Had a hit immediatly and had to follow the fish with the trolling motor for a while before landing it. Bottomed out my 50lb scale easily. Shallow sandy lake with no structure for him to get into was the only reason I landed him on such light line.
Matt
Caught 23" and 21" channel cats on a 4" soft shad and a crankbait, respectively.
16 lbs 4 oun largemouth bass caught on producto 8' purple worm at Lake Panasoffkee Fl
Quote16 lbs 4 oun largemouth bass caught on producto 8' purple worm at Lake Panasoffkee Fl

A monster blue catfish in NC while slow rolling a spinnerbait in 25ft of water! Well over 30lbs on my scale!
32 inch blue cat on a minnow. fun fish.
Why do you start a poll by polling only for the length of the fish caught and then immediately asking WHERE it was caught? : Make up your mind.
35" ,25# flathead catfish caught at Lake Pleasant north of Phoenix Arizona. Caught on a Quantum Mantra reel and Quantum mediun weight rod with 12# test line.

The world record musky; 56" @ 69lbs, my PB musky was 47" @ 37 lbs. and is my longest and heaviest fresh water game fish.
This musky was caught on light tackle fishing for smallies; 8 lb mono and 1/8 oz black hair jig. Spent many hours casting big musky lures and end catching this fish with my bass/walleye tackle, Lake of The Woods, Sabaskong bay.

Freshwater: 24 3/4" LM that was 8 lbs. Caught her using a Black, orange and white 1/2oz Little George.
Saltwater: 71" Barracuda that was 67 lbs.

I guess we are both wrong; 60" @ 67 1/2lbs, Cal Johnson is currently listed. I referenced the Lawton musky, now removed. You apparently referenced the Spray fish, also removed by the IGFA. However you look at it ; 54" musky is 50 + lbs, a trophy fish. Any photo's??

Spray's record musky was stricken from IGFA records when they learned that he dispatched the fish with a handgun
(common practice back then). All the same, the National Freshwater Hall of Fame still recognizes Louie Spray's record muskellunge
after a protracted dispute. As it happens, the musky taken by Calvin Johnson, a sports writer, is also under suspicion.
The whole musky saga is a sordid affair that casts poor dispersions on anglers and angling.
I believe I've photos of all the record muskies and will post them one day when the time is right.

Pinch the tail next time, 50" is a big ego boost.........lol
I accidentaly snagged a paddlenose catfish while trolling for stripers that was about 4'.
Spray's fish is still the world record everyone is trying to beat even if it isn't official Alot of people out there that think it wasn't as big as reported also. I think the reason they took it away was cause he shot it with a handgun before bringing it in the boat. Its still listed as the state record for Wisconsin also. I pretty sure theres a 70 pounder swimming in greenbay it just has to be caught.
Alright, my biggest fish was a shark of some type. My dad and I were bottom fishing for grouper when this 6 to 7 foot shark took my bait. I fought that thing for 20 minutes and when I got him along side the boat I asked the guide, "How are we going to get him in the boat?" He just smiled and cut the line.
Now, back to the real world of lmb. Maybe two pounds? I know, pitiful but I am just now learning to bass fish. My dream fish is swimming today, waiting.
Hey Im fishing a tourny this weekend at lake panasoffkee and won't have time to pre fish dose anyone know wehere i should fish this lake and if i should try flippin the grass . I have never fished this lake before . can anyone help me out

I think your alligator gar was actually a long nose gar. We don't have alligator gar down here - closest is NW Florida.
44" musky on a pencil popper. wow that was fun.
