We used to pack by hand in a garage when we first started, but after a few months the pallets were hitting the ceiling! Now we use a professional service that helps us manage the inventory and pack the boxes. It's done manually but the use some technology to assist as well.
How do u get these mystery boxes

THIS IS THE WORST BOX I HAVE GOTTEN SO FAR. THE MAIN LURE A REACTION STRIKE SWIM BAT IS PAINTED ALL SILVER BUT ITS A CHEAP PAINT JOB. ONLY HAS ONE SMALL #4 SIZE TREBLE. THE BUZZ BAIT I GOT LOOKS OK AND THE SOFT PLASTICS ARE ALWAYS GOOD BUT FOR $18 RETAIL PRICE OF THE SWIMBAIT. IN THIS COLOR ITS A RIP OFF. IL POST A PICTURE IN A LITTLE BIT. I HOPE EVERONE GOT A BETTER BOX THOUGH
THESE ARE THE PICS OF WHAT I GOT ON THIS MONTHS BOX. THE SWIM BAIT LOOKS REALLY LOW QUALITY. SMH.
LOOKS CHEAP
that company makes musky lures... many reports of lure breaking. seems to be a low quality company
Bassin28, thanks for your feedback on the Reaction Strike Revolution Shad. We actually featured another Crankbait from Reaction Strike in our very first box last August and the feedback on that product was pretty good and we did not have any major complaints about the quality of that product. In fact, you can see the reviews here: http://mysterytacklebox.com/reaction-strike-xcbs-crankbait
If the lure you received from us had a defect or quality issue with the paint (as it looks like it may have in the picture), you can email us at info@mysterytacklebox.com and we will work with the manufacturer to replace it for you at no cost.
Probably my least favorite box so far out of the three I have received. I am not a fan of reaction strike lures as I have received some in the past (not from MTB) and didn't care much for them. They just seem cheap to me. I do however like the buzzbait, can't wait to try it out!
I got mine today and the swim bait in my box was in perch color. Didn't look too bad, but I've never used the brand before. I'll use it a bit before I make a final judgement. As for the plastics and buzzbait, I'm excited to try them out and hopefully I'll have a chance to tomorrow afternoon.
I just got my first box and I was happy
I actually got a spinnerbait instead of a buzzbait.
These River2Sea swimbaits look good.
I also like the finesse plastics.
I got a Rapala Skitter Walk in baby bass.
Reaction Strike's 4" Fathead Jr in trout.
Vicious Ultimate 12# copolymer. 100yds
Lake Fork Tackle's Flipper in a green pumpkin with red and black flakes.
Whiskey River Bait's Saloon Girl black with blue flake.
2 of the VMC XL Wide gap worm hook.
Out of the 6 I've gotten this is my favorite!
those Big Bite Baits lures are awesome! Can't wait to get my first one next month.

And I thought mine was good! Lucky you!
Sounds like you got a nice box 5fishlimit! On a side not about my box.. overstock has the revolution shads for $4.67. There's no way I would pay $18 for one!
Got to try out the buzzbait today. It runs great and makes lots of racket. But while the double hook is neat, it does pose a problem. Every couple casts the longer middle skirt gets boogered up and jammed up in the gap of the hook. So you have to stop and pick it out carefully, trying not to rip the strands off. It gets irritating pretty quickly.
Thanks for the field test info! I was wondering about that myself. Gonna give it a try this week.On 5/15/2013 at 5:59 AM, Pegwedge said:Got to try out the buzzbait today. You're welcome. It's just such a hassle testing out fishing equipment. I wanted to try out the swimbait too but didn't get around to it. I did finally try out the River2Sea Rover I got last month too. Now that thing is going to see some use.

I've been using the Rover as well the past few trips I've been out. I really like it a lot. Had a couple blow up on it last trip but did not connect. What color did you get?
I got the "Stock Trout" color. Looks like a rainbow trout pattern. I didn't get any hits but I wasn't really expecting any. It wasn't a topwater kind of day/time.
I also got the skitter walk except in red head color. Any one like this color, seems really odd to me.
I don't know why people complain about value in this. Half the fun is not knowing what you are going to get and getting to try out new items you normally wouldn't buy.

I agree, it's suppose to be a surprise when you receive it. Now if there is some real damage or something was wrong with the product (defective) then I would contact whoever to get it rectified. Go try out the stuff out, see if it works? Why knock it without trying it.

That's the color I have as well. Looking forward to puting it to some more use. Plan on trying that buzzbait this evening!
I got the same chrome swim bait paint on mine looks fine and I like the chrome I have a lot of luck with chrome lures and as in luck I mean northern pike usually bite them off lol. Chrome is a toothy fish magnet around here.

and Chartreuse! In the waters I fish, if I have that I have a 50/50 shot it will be a bass or pike.

this is the box I got. Only my skitter walk was chartreuse. It was weird seeing the reaction strike swimbaits in there. I was in North Carolina on vacation and grabbed a pack. Surf fished with them and absolutely wore out the big flounders on this bait. So im saving them for my return trip. I have no clue what im going to do with the Saloon Girl, thing looks crazy. Im thinking its supposed to be a topwater, but it feels like it will sink like a rock. Maybe a drop shot? Excited to try the LFT flipper, I have been eyeing that bait up for awhile. Already have one rigged up as a jig trailer for the weekend.
Fished the buzzbait this evening. Was pretty pleased with it. I had the same issue with the skirt as the other guy on here and it is not very quick to plane but I did catch one on it before switching to a trick worm. The double hook had him good!

Glad you had some luck with it. I noticed that it did take a few more cranks to get it on the surface than most buzzbaits I've used but I thought that might have just been me. I'm going to try to get out in the evening this weekend and give it another go.
After seeing some of the items, I really wanted the Rapala box. And I got it! My brother actually received the same box as well.

I hope I get that one too, but whichever I get, I'll use them all at least once.
What was the name or brand of the spinnerbait/ buzz bait?

We get it. You don't like MTB, but your constant posts on the threads make you come off like a bitter ex girlfriend.

x 2
I got the rapala box. Fished with the skitter walk already and it has a unique sound....very easy to walk.

I got this box and nothing to complain about.
I have field tested the spinnerbait (white and cht) color. I used it for a couple of hours. Missed one strike with it, it looked to be a pike..as it was passing a weed line the pike took a swipe but it was over zealous as it missed and basically jumped up in the air. It runs pretty true and liked the action. The main issue I had was the shape of the nose, it at times collected weeds. Overall it performed well.
Justin, other than the Gunfish. the Skitterwalk is my favorite walk-the-dog bait. Somewhat underrated bait IMO.
This months box was definitely my favorite...
Mostly because my son got his first box this month and didn't steal all the stuff out of mine!

You know, no one cares. You feel the need to come to these postings every month. We get it. You don't like mystery tackle box. Keep to your fishhound or whatever you promote and don't bother with us that like the mystery tackle box.

Yeah I will probably pick up a few more in different colors. I like the size and sound it puts off.
Anybody want to buy a pet rock. There are gimmicks born every minute.
I'll never understand these people that come in here to bash MTB. If you don't think it's a good value, then don't buy it. Freedom of choice is a wonderful thing. Why pee on everyone else's Cheerios?
I like the idea, I think its good gift idea for a new angler or young angler.

Got this box too. My Skitter Walk was the white with red head. Would have preferred the Baby Bass. I'm happy to see some more variety in this box. I already spooled up the Vicious line and plan to test it out this weekend.

Not sure what your point is. This is a great way to sample products that you normally wouldn't buy and it could expand your bass fishing skills. People get so stuck on certain brands and refuse to buy anything else.
Looks good guys. Don't knock that red head stuff, I found a skitter walk in this color and have had a lot of luck on it at night! Not something I would normally use but I have caught enough to convince me!
Jim
i love that... its almost time for another box!
Speaking of boxes, had to share this amazing unboxing video by BassUtopia. These guys are awesome:
