Saw the new episodes started today on Versus for fishing shows finally.
I caught Bill Dance the Bass Pro's and The Next Bite which are 3 of my favorites. I see Hank Parker is on tomorrow so I got the DVR set for that one. I know its a re-run but I see Outdoor also has a Bassmaster Tournament lined up for tomorrow as well.
About time something other than deer hunting was on.
Is it about dang time! I have nothing against hunting for I do hunt some, but It would be nice if one day these channels finally gave fishing an equal amount of air time. I mean the last I heard fishing in America was only second in popularity to chasing a little white ball down some fairway, yet every time I turn on Outdoor or Sportsman its always hunting. In any event looking forward to finally watching some fishing again.
My DVR is actually sweating, from all the new shows!
Happy to see Lunkerville is on NBC/VS channel. I think it's the best bass fishing program. Authentic.
Zona's show is great entertainment. Can't watch Mr. Dance reel in one 6-7# fish after another...after another....
I check the "big" shows out too for the occasional gem segments and there are some. But honestly those
programs feel more like moving marketing slicks. I get the appeal of tournament fishing for some, it does not draw me.
Does anybody have a place online to watch fishing shows?
Blaine at Backwoods angler has some posted here; http://www.backwoodsanglertv.com/WATCH.html
I've also found some good videos on youtube.
MyOutdoorTv.com has a ton of fishing and hunting shows on it. They are mostly older episodes right now but you can kill some time wading through all the episodes that they have of so many different shows.

I used to Chase that little white ball down the fairway. I've found fishing to be much more enjoyable. Plus I don't have to pay 80 something bucks to go catch fish for the day.

My issue exactly as well. I like golf. But anything I'm not good at I want to practice to get better, and I just can't afford to go golfing as much as it would take.
In fact, some courses are so high, and CC memberships have dropped so much, it almost pays to just join a CC if you are a serious golfer.

At the company I used to work at my bosses oldest son, who also happened to be one of my good friends and my direct superintendent. Used to take me whenever work was slow. We would talk for fifteen minutes about work, and he would charge it to the company as "work related". Heck there was a month that we went 9 times. After he left, I really just couldn't afford to do more than go to the range. When I quit playing I was generally getting even par on 18 holes.
I started golfing a lot once I got out of high school. I had never done any golfing other than mini golf before my graduation. So pretty much, I sucked! Im like Jigfisherman, if Im going to do something Im not very good at, Im going to practice as much as possible. So I got to thinking, playing 18 holes 2 or 3 times a week was pretty darn expensive. I figured that money could buy me a pretty darn nice bass boat. Then I got to thinking about all the lost balls, new clubs, broken clubs, broken tees, food and beverages at the coarse I could update all the gear and tackle I already had and actually have some good stuff. So I bought a boat and a bunch of new gear!! Best decision I ever made!

Nothing against golf. I use to work for a Yamaha Golf Cart Dealer and got to golf just about anywhere in Northern IL for free, just saying its great that the fishing shows are back, just wish they got as much air time as hunting does.
Have to say I was pleasantly surprised to see some new shows on last night. I thought it was going to be another 1-2 weeks before that happened. Time to fill up that DVR.
Glad to see the new shows are returning to versus and the other channels as there has been plenty of hunting shows on and I had to get WFN as one of my channels to enjoy fishing shows. Plenty of Bass fishing on WFN throughout the week.

I just hate all the saltwater fishing shows on WFN.

True I'm not a fan of the saltwater shows either but I can get around them moreso than the hunting shows.
Hadnt heard of that channel before. Now I know why not on directv
WFN is also on dish network as well
Two of my favorites Kim Stricker's Hook N Look, and Lindner's Angling Edge, are on WFN. I don't have it with our new package, so I hope both of those are on VS

I like both of those as well as Getting Schooled with JP Derose and Lost Lake. I added it as a separate channel for $3 because in a package it was $15
yea my dvr is already workin double time lol

I havent been able to find Lindner's Angling Edge. Last I looked at their calendar they had no times down for Versus. But they have all their 2011 episodes posted on their website you can watch. Hopefully they do this with their 2012 episodes as well.

They just posted on Facebook about it.
Their new episode starts tomorrow, and will re-air on Saturday.
Also, found that Hook n Look is on Outdoor channel exclusively which SUCKS bigtime, since I don't have it, and it is a GREAT show.
I prefer the saltwater shows, but not too much trolling for pelagics. I like shows that highlight sightcasting in the flats or backcountry with lighter gear or fly rods. My favorite show is the "Spanish Fly"(Jose Wejebe).

Well now then, if you were chasing a little white ball down the fairway, that's pretty good in and of itself. All too often I'm chasing mine into the rough, or a hazard, or the woods. But I blame the course designer for putting the fairways in the wrong place. One of my favorite expressions when someone hits the ball really fat and the divot goes further than the ball, "Play the divot."
You're into "soldier" golfing huh Rhino?
left, right, left, right.

I used to tell people after cutting a big beaver pelt, " I think I know what you were doing, you were standing too close to the ball....after you hit it".
WFN came with my verizon, so I watch it all the time. Lost lake and classic patterns are two of my favorites. The have big bass monday, so monday is my sit inside and watch fishing night now haha
Who care about New Years?!!? TODAY is the new year for fishing shows
Just like you all have mentioned, I got my DVR ready to go for the whole year...good thing I got the 500 GB hard drive.

Mine is "don't twist your ankle on that divot walkin back to the cart...or when i do it " i'm just gonna go ahead and lay down in the grave i just dug please cover me up on your way by"..

LOL same for me and my wife knows if she needs me to do anything it will have to be before 7 and after 10 lol because I'm glued to the tv.
Im a deer and turkey hunter, so the hunting shows dont bother me.(except by now they are on their third rotation) Have been watching wfn alot. Guess im lucky where i live, i have wfn, outdoor channel, and the sportsmans channel. There alot of good shows on vs too, but i think they are changing the name of the channel. But wfn(world fishing network) has got the best fishing shows by far.

Thanks for the kind words Jim. And just so everyone knows, the NBC Sports airings are different than the WFN broadcasts, so you can DVR them both. NBC Sports will be showing re-edited episodes from season 4 and 5 and WFN airs season 6. Season 7 begins in July on WFN.
Tomorrow, I go fishing with the infamous Low Budget Hooker in Rhode Island on NBC Sports. Check it out at 2pm (or DVR it and all the shows Wednesdays at 2pm).
Mike D I saw that episode. I like how he said color didnt matter and you proceeded to catch more bass then him. After that came the famous line "What are you throwing and can I use one?" Great show!
