Well I was just wondering what exactly does everyone pay to be legally able to go fish in their home state. I also if it is known would like to know how much out of state fishermen pay to legally fish in your state. Id like to see what state are setting their fees at and what they are.
So I am a Resident in NH.
Annual NH Resident Fishing License - $35.00
Annual Non Resident Fishing License - $53.00
In Mass
Annual Fishing Resident: $27.50
Annual Fishing Non-Resident: $37.50
Here in Cali it's 37.30 for a resident tag. Don't know what our non resident is?
Tennessee:
RESIDENTS:
Annual HUNTING and Fishing licenses are $28.
Ages 13-15 are $8.
One-day passes are $5.50
Annual Trout Stamps are an extra $18.
Other types are also available.
NON-RESIDENTS:
Annual fishing licenses are $41, with other types and permits available.
Tennessee Resident: $28 Combined Hunting & Fishing.
Additional license/ fees for trout, ducks & geese, turkey and deer.
Plus, Federal Stamps, of course!
However, in the Mid South, most outdoorsmen fish a number of states in the region which requires out-of-state licenses in almost every case. There are a few, small overlapping juristdictions that allow limited reciprocity. Last year I had licenses in TN, KY, AL and AR.
PA = I think it was around $23 this year. Extra fees to fish for Trout and they put a trout stamp on your license
Resident freshwater license in Florida is $17. If you are fishing with live bait and a cane pole (or any other pole without a reel) you don't need a license.
NY - 19.00
Seneca Nation Territory license - 35.00
Here in Nebraska it's $20 per year. Good from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31
WI $10 fishing license for residents
Arkansas
Resident Fishing License - $10.50
Trout stamp (required to take trout in certain waters) - $5.00
White River border lakes stamp - $10.00 (allows AR residents to fish the Missouri portions of Table Rock, Bull Shoals, and Norfork)
Resident Hunting License - $25.00
Waterfowl stamp - $7.00

Arkansas has some very reasonable fishing and hunting license fees, which I think is a big contributing factor to the popularity of both hunting and fishing here in the Natural State.
Virginia freshwater is $18 for a state license. You can get one for your local county for less not sure the amount. Also certain lakes/rivers require trout stamp and if you fish the Potomac you MAY need special Potomatc license or Maryland or DC license. That depends on what sections of the river you fish-- it gets very complicated.
Here in Michigan:
Resident = $15.00.......All species = $28.00
Senior (65 years or older) = $11.20
Military = $1.00
Nonresident = $34.00.....All species = $42.00.....24 hr = $7.00
These fees are for 2007. Rumor has it they will all be going up considerably for 2008.
Falcon
Here in NC it's $15.00 for a resident license good for 1 year from date of purchase.
$25 (sigh) i dont need one yet but next year i will
You can come to GA from out of State and fish for seven days for under $10. Resident is $9 for a year.
Boulder Colorado here! 25 bucks for a license. Another 5 bucks if you want another license so you can have two poles in the water.
Rhodey is like twenty something. Its sad because they stock nothing but trout, and put no money in for bass or anything. Just trout!

Well, they charge for a whole year when you can only fish six months! :
You guys have it so cheap!!! My State is slick. There is a freshwater and saltwater license. One is about $19 and the other $21. They tack on a fee or two and it comes about to about $48. Frickin' highway robbery if you ask me. This is resident. I don't even want to know what non residents would pay.
Kentucky is $20 fo a resident fishing license. There is a $5 trout stamp fee.
PA = $22.00
Trout stamp + $9.00
Lake Erie stamp + $9.00
(combined $15.00)
Non resident = $52.00
We dont call Pennsylvania "The Land of Taxes" for nothing >

1/2/2007 70 degrees 20+ fish The only month we dont fish is Febuary and thats when we fly south for a few weeks
Got to say Connecticut is tough, most states give minors 16-18 a break but CT is Adult =16 and over. 16 year old out of Stater's $40.00
"Take a kid fishing and your VISA Platnuim card in CT"
Like Branuss had already said, our license here in Cali are $37.50... However, we also have a two rod stamp (which, depending on the type of fishing I'm doing, I sometimes use) and its $11.55, and a Bay Delta stamp which is $5.50 more....
So, all total, its more like $55.
But as I always say, my fishing license is far and above, the best money I spend all year !!! I'd pay $200 for an annual license if I could be assured that it would be put to very good use, and not all wasted away in beurocratic BS and red tape :-(
Hey tin2win, you said > Its sad because they stock nothing but trout, and put no money in for bass < Heck, they do pretty much the same thing here in Cali ! :-)
Peace,
Fish
They stock the trout were there are ZERO BASS. :'(
Just went up to 12 here in Alabama. Up from 9.50 I think. The lifetime freshwater also went up from 150 to 250.
In the few lakes they put trout in that have bass (Breakheart, Stafford, Watchaug)for example. These lakes are the better lakes in the state imo. They usually throw out quality fish and I have caught 3 pound largies with 10 inch brook trout tails sticking out of there gut. So they do it them.
But back to the trout and Rhode Island. Its funny it seems like everyone in the state fishes for trout from the second saturday in April (opening day) to the third saturday, then you never see anyone fishing anymore. I just cant figure this state out. Cant wait to get out of college and move to the shores of G-Ville
Here in Indiana it is $17 not to long ago it was $4. It's robbery. They take in 3 to 4 times as much money but yet complain that they have no money for things that were taken care of every year with less. I know things cost more but come on. I want to know were the money is being spent.
Same here. Its going somewhere, but it seems like it isnt going where it should be >
Mississippi resident license for freshwater is $9.85 , there's an additional charge for saltwater fishing not sure what it is. I dont do any salt water fishing.

NH is the same way. 16 and over you need a fishing lic, 16 and under its free. Im afraid most of the $$$ raised via license fees are not going to stocking waters and other Fish and Game resources but to offset the raising costs for the Fish and Games employees such as Healthcare and Retirement.
Geez a lot of you guys got it good. Costs me $45 for my California license after buying the bay stamp. Of course there's a ton of other stamps you have to buy for various other things. Another $60 for non-resident Oregon license, and another $20 for a harvest card to keep salmon/steelhead/halibut/sturgeon.
Where else do you have to have your license visible besides California? Charge you another $5 for the holder, and it's easy to forget when you can't just leave it in your wallet.

Gotta have the two rod stamp. I use it more for trolling for trout, macs, etc. Very seldom for bass.

Yout got jipped. $5?!?! They gave me mine for free.
I'll be 16 next yr, so im gonna have to pay $53 for a NH non-resident license. ********** it why is NH one of the most expensive ones? :-/lol o well. ;D

Yeah I have the two rod stamp as well for trout. No I didn't pay for a holder, I just made my own.
As mentioned earlier a Virginia license is $18 for 12 months from the date of purchase. I have also purchased a 7 day Florida and 7 day Missouri license this year as well so I think I am up to $60. I need to start thinking about buying a lifetime license for $255.
NC Freshwater $15
NC Saltwater $15
Unified salt and freshwater $35
I am not sure if the unfied license includes Trout Stamps as I live on the coast and have never been Trout fishing in the mountains.
$10.00 Freshwater resident
$6.00 Saltwater resident
Total $ 16.00 to fish from side-to-side and top-to-bottom of MS.
FREE
In Florida you don't have to be "OLD" to fish for free,
but you do need proof that you've had 65 birthdays.

a regular license is 21 but with the dollar tax its 22 and with the trout stamp its 31 cause they are 9 with the dollar tax.
