Fished out? Is it possible. 2024

fishing user avatarKsam1234 reply :

Soooo I have been going fishing 3-5 times a week now .. and I think I finnslly have been all fished out.  Anyone ever feel that way.. I might be going crazy '! Got the fish blues hah

fishing user avatarNHBull reply :

Unlikely,.......it is that time of the year!  If mid September comes and things haven't changed,  ????

fishing user avatarJar11591 reply :

Even when I fish every day it still doesn't feel like enough.

fishing user avatarSam reply :

They are there.

And they know you are there.

They conspire against you.

Keep trying. As stated above, when football season arrives it is a new day in bass fishing as they get ready for winter.

fishing user avatarOCdockskipper reply :

I never get tired of fishing, although I do occasionally get tired when fishing.  It is amazing how rejuvenating a nap can be.

Right now, I am tired of the hot weather & sweating like a pig midday while fishing.  In a few months, I will grow tired of having to wear layered clothes just because the weather dips into the 40's.  But tired of fishing?  That does not compute.

fishing user avatarriverbasser reply :

ive taken vacations where I just fished everyday for about a week. after that week I didn't fish again until the next weekend;)

fishing user avatarMIbassyaker reply :

I'm confused -- are you saying you're tired of fishing, or that the fish are tired of you?

fishing user avatarSummertimeCarl reply :

I can definitely see it happening, honestly.  When I get bored of fishing I try to switch it up.  Maybe take the ultralight rod to a nearby creek or try to kayak a new small lake.  New water especially is always exciting for me.

Both lol. I mean I had some good days. Just the other day I went piking for 3 hours and got 4

pike and a 4

pound LMB but just got tired quick and today I could have went fishing but just didn't have it in me.

fishing user avatarOCdockskipper reply :

I am getting tired of working, so I have a deal for you - You do my work & I'll do your fishing.

fishing user avatarbigbill reply :

Been there and figured out some of it. I fish the same small spots over and over. What bait is hot this year might not be hot next year. Of course time to change baits. I change baits, colors and presentations till I get action using crankbaits, etc.  if no action I go to brushogs, wacky rigged senko on a 24" Carolina rig.

I throw a few different lures too like rapalas, bomber shallow cranks, Norman thin n, inline spinners, spinnerbaits, yum money minnows, topwater poppers, spooks, etc. I use the baitmate bass attractant. I switch to garlic flavor too at times when no action is happening. Another thing I notice is the water conditions can change as we go deeper. It could look clear or stained on top but as we go down it can get even more stained, darker. Don't be afraid to throw brighter, larger colored baits. Don't limit yourself stay motivated and focus on your presentations too.

fishing user avatargeo g reply :

I fish 5 or 6 days a week, and have for the last 40 years.  To me its a form of relaxation and enjoyment and always has been.  Regardless how tough the day is, when I make my first cast all that pressure disappears.   Put on a some ear buds, your favorite music, and focus on the line in the water.  Its the cheapest form of therapy you could ever find.  When it stops being fun, stop doing it.  It should not be like work, and when it starts feeling like work, take a break!!!!!

fishing user avatarNorcalBassin reply :

I've been satiated after a nice trip with consecutive days of successful fishing, but I think I could pretty much live on a lake and never feel fished out.

fishing user avatarSlipknot_Fan666 reply :

I get tired of fishing on occasion. Sometimes a few weeks break is all I need other times I need a few months. Got out of it for about a year once and sold all my gear. I'll never sell my stuff again.

fishing user avatarMI.Kayaker reply :

tomorrow will be 98 straight days... so no.

fishing user avatarBluebasser86 reply :

I don't think I've ever been fishing where I wasn't thinking about my next trip on the drive home.

fishing user avatarislandbass reply :

Certainly, especially if I had the chance to fish a few consecutive days. But it only lasts for about 5 minutes, lol.

fishing user avatarBruce424 reply :

Usually for me it's laziness. If im betting done with work early, im like alright I'll go fishing for a lil bit. Then I get home and sit down... I'm done. Or I don't feel like driving to the lake. And i kno its stupid for me to say that.

That's why I need a lake house...?

fishing user avatarCatt reply :

Uhhh.....no!

fishing user avatarMichaelCopeland reply :

I never, never, never, never get tired of fishing! I only take breaks from it out of need not want. That's because my girlfriend needs me to do something or whatever. Otherwise I could fish all day everyday!

fishing user avatarFrisbie385 reply :

No way. I can't get out on the water enough.

fishing user avatarBoomstick reply :

That's possible? For the most part, I only get out on weekends and I wish it was like 4-5 days a week instead! Fishing is relaxing.

Yeah, I'm more "summered out" than "fished out."

fishing user avatarMassYak85 reply :

Unless I got skunked every time I don't think I would get tired going that much. And even then I think I would just stupidly persistent and force myself to go.

fishing user avatarsoflabasser reply :

Its hard to say if a body of water is truly fished out or not unless you have a Fisheries Biologist study the place for the number of largemouth bass in a particular body of water. Maybe the bass are not biting since its a highly pressured lake or maybe most people are fishing at the wrong time of day with wrong techniques.I often fish bodies of water that many think are fished out yet I catch big bass out of these same bodies of water. As for fishing too much, I don't think that's possible if you only fish 1-2 days a week.

Yeah I guess it's just the summer I'm sick of.. the area I been fishing is full of weeds and duck weed.. get hung up every other cast. And lots of bugs! Flies and mosquitos an gnats everywhere .. but it's been 2 days now and I miss the water already ha.
