Xmas in March, two replicas arrived today, this boss F1 Tiger Bass and the shoalie. Clocked out a little early today to do some Vanna White salesmanship on this toad. This blank has been worked on a lot. Originally a gift, beheaded, reheaded, repainted and now it's done. Looks marvelous. And remember, that if you want a fish to look truly big, you have to showcase it in the kitchen. this is by far and away the crowning jewel of my collection thus far.
Wow that is amazing!!!
Awesome pics, looks great. Can u post a pic showing the mouth/gill detail.
It really looks more alive in your hands than it did when it was caught
Looks fantastic!
Nice, funny you posted this I found them via facebook tonight.

really, where?
bear in mind the interior mouth and gill detail is cast from a real fish hence all the texture. note how you can see through the gills into the mouth and out the opening like a real fish, the gills are snot shrunken or dehydrated like a skinmount..
Wow....those are probably the best replica pic's I have seen. Makes me really consider doing a replica instead of a regular mount. How much per inch was it? If you don't mind me asking.....
The Devil is in the details, the details on that replica are awesome, the best I've seen, fins have that translucence, the mouh/gill area is where most others lack, not on this replica: those are awesome pics. Congrats
Those things are SICK!! Makes me want to get a replica of my next giant.
By the way, I see that box of Captain Crunch Peanut Butter, best stuff ever.
Don't care about the naysayers but those are nice, replica or not . Its all in who does them, and how talented they are. In the first one if they added the lower tail damage you couldn't even tell if it was a replica or not.
Amazing level of detail, all the way down to those gills! Well done.
Congrats man thats a great replica and pics for us. the detail is awesome like others said from the the skin to the giils . very nice
Best replica I've seen
Glad y'all like it
I don't like your replica dude............I loooooooove it! It looks awesome. If you run out of room on the wall I have plenty of room to showcase it for you. Lol.

taxidermy has a lot of scope and variation in it.$15-20 and inch usually. the taxidermist I use gets $21 an inch. this includes the blank itself of course. It all depends on what caliber of a paint job you want. if you want high def scale tipping then it's going to be in the vicinity of $21 an inch. It may not be quite competition grade but it's heading that direction. If you have the coin there are people who can paint stuff that looks like its alive. there are many artists around the country that do museum quality work. there are also people that paint fish like maco paints cars. high volume taxidermy shops, but each scale won't get the detail it deserves.
not good for conservation in the immediate sense, but some taxidermists will give you discount for providing them a specimen.
Amazing mount bud. Congrats on it as well as such a great catch.
x2 on peanut butter captain crunch being the best cereal ever made.
and yes I must admit that captain crunch is a bit of a delicacy. it's spring break, so I'm looking to get bit today!
Thanks for sharing, That is a great mount. It's nice to see the close up details of a replica. That makes it a lot more convincing to do a replica mount.
Makes me wonder how a replica of the fish in my avatar would look...
