Welcome Aboard!

Sweet! Good to have another good sponser.
Tremendous!!! Always good to have support!!
Keeps the site going!
I thought I saw that this morning !!!
Welcome to BR and thanks for your support !!!
I've been a member of Fish Hound for a couple of years now. Their product testing is the best deal out there; you pay reasonable shipping costs ($1.49 in many cases) and get a product to test and report back on. They have a product called "Bug Bam" which is the best thing to keep bugs away while fishing. If i use one of the wristbands I can go out in the Everglades and no mosquitos bother me at all.
Been wanting to try fishhound for a while now.
Same i have been thinking about joining just been waiting to hear more feedback.

Do it! Have I steered you wrong yet???
haha i can't argue there!
I am ready to take my secret weapon to Grand Lake next month!
Jump on the bandwagon!
I just signed up last week, what are the odds!?
There was a post before about fish hound and it said you can get money for places like TW for $.50 on the dollar. Is this true? Like if you spend $200 fish hound will somehow give you $400 to spend?
I remember a thread saying that MTB was better than FishHound and vice-versa, but I'm guessing that opinion may be different now.
Any more experiences with FishHound? I literally just signed up for MTB and am always looking for a new reason to spend money on lures.
Glad to hear about another fine sponsor. Welcome.
Ive clicked on " A hot girl vs. fishing lure" never found a result yet.
I really like that commercial.
So question. I'm looking at their cranks to see about signing up. I see shipping is 1.49. Is that per lure or 1.49 for the order?
I believe that is per order. I think you are allowed to get 4 items per order if I'm not mistaken. I wish the Fishound guy would provide some clarification.

It is per lure. Some other things are a little bit more for shipping. I am recently testing the boomerang tool. If I'm not mistaken, it was 2.49 shipping.
So where is the savings?

You pay $39. An average bait is I'd say $5 to $7 retail. With the paying the 39 you get 125 to spend. The 125 goes towards what the bait would cost if you purchased at TW or BPS. You pay 1.49 per bait.
If you order anywhere you practically have to pay shipping. Unless they have a special and there's no shipping or reduced shipping costs if you purchase over a certain amount.
You also get $25 worth of coupons a month to use at places like TW. I used my $5 TW coupon last night and purchase some Hydra's that the had on a daily special. I saved 1.49 because TW had them on sale and I applied the coupon and received $5 off.
I do see the savings.
guys theres a code to get your first month at 5.00 its ytube50. I got it and I cant be more happy!!!
For my first gear review I got a ISH popping frog in white and a color called california something lol. after seeing him fish those in MLF I wanted to give frogs a try. I got a semi deep jerkbait and a skipping jig. the frogs alone are 8.99 each on tackle warehouse and 11$ in ebay. I paid for everything around 11$(membership and shipping) and All I have to do is report back a review. ITS awesome!! Im already reviewing a lot of products in my posts here(indirectly).
I'll probably end up getting a sub. I like the fact that I can pick what I want, and you get FULL PACKS OF PLASTICS.
So shipping is $1.49 per lure?

Sounds like it from what everyone else has said. I hope it isn't, cause if is, I still can't see the savings
I took a look at it and the numbers just dont add up to me. At first it seems like a big win but when I dig deeper I have to question it. Lets say you spend $39... you get $125 in points. A $6 rattletrap is valued at $8 plus $1.70 in shipping for a total of $9.70, you couldve bought two at that price.
So lets assume its $9.70 per bait or roughly $10
$10x4 = $40 for 4 baits, had you spent $10 more at TW you wouldve had shipping for free. If we only bought rattletraps at $6 you couldve had 8 of them... double.
So the next argument is that you get $125 for $39, lets again assume only rattletraps....youre looking at roughly 12 baits taking up your whole order for the year, depends if they let you use your credit for shipping.
So in the end you might have saved $10 to have a very limited selection of lures. The giftcards and what not I am sure add up as do the credits for subitting reports so that youre not losing money.
Neat concept, more along the lines of what I wanted to see MTB do. At this point I think theyre both cool ideas but I wont shoehorn myself into anything. You guys start opening MTBs with MS mini slammers in them I might change my mind.
Again, MTB gives you one decent lure now, and samples for $15 a month. That's $165 with their yearly rate, and $180 if you choose to pay month to month. Fishhound is $39 a year, and you can pick what you want, and you get full packs. Not just lures or soft plastics. We are talking line, fish attractant, terminal tackle, fishing apparel etc. Even once you pay shipping, you're still coming out way better than MTB. Fishhound from what I understand, gives you points for posting fishing reports, product reviews, photos of your catches, and videos. Just by posting a review of what you get gives you $2. And that's per lure, which you are allowed to get 4 at a time. So they basically give you $8 credit for each order provided you post reviews of the products. That $125 they give you isn't for the entire year either. From what I've seen and had people tell me, it's still cheaper and a way better deal than MTB is at this point. It's just a shame MTB went with samples, as I was pretty happy with them before that. Fishhound isn't perfect, but I like their *** whole lot better than what's out there now. I'd love it if the Fishhound guy took part in these forums a little more. He should be lurking in everyone of these threads ready to answer any questions we have.

I think that MTB has gone out of his way, more than once, to explain their packaging strategy. It's only $15, so if you don't like it, just stop the subscription, which it sounds like you already have.
I'm sure MTB appreciates the feedback, but whining about the "FULL" packs in every thread is not going to bring them back, or change their branding strategy backed up by their marketing research.
I just signed up for MTB and am excited to get samples of baits I wouldn't normally buy. Even a full pack wouldn't last me very long and I'd be going back to purchase more or wait for a new bait.
FishHound does sound interesting and I'm waiting for more reviews. It sounds a little more complicated than MTB, but I'm always up for getting new baits.
Thank you both MTB and FishHound for supporting the forum and offering great deals to BR members.
U pay the $39 for a year sub at fishhound and u get $125 dollars to use. The 125 goes to the price of the retail price and all u pay as a member is the shipping per item.

Fishhound and MTB are very different services, and the FULL PACKS I speak of is one of the differences Fishhound brings to the table. As far as "whining" goes, you're doing a much better job than me. You seem to have a problem with every post I make, so maybe you should just pipe hell down from now on, as you seem to whine any time I post something not in line with your way of thinking. I don't know what your problem is, and I really don't care, but don't start a war here buddy. This is a discussion forum, and if you can't handle other's opinions, maybe these boards aren't where you should be. If someone has a differing opinion that me, I don't bash them or get butt hurt. Guess maybe I'm a little more mature than you. I provided MY feedback to MTB, and why I cancelled. If you don't like it, tough. I outlined the differences I saw between MTB and FH, and sorry but getting full retail packs is one of them. Again, you don't have to like MY opinion, but I don't really care.
I like that we can earn more points other ways, by helping grow the community.
That's been about the only thing holding me back was the shipping fees, i joined as a free member today, but once you get that $3 flat rate fee for 5 items, up and running i'll be willing to up my subscription.
Are the St Croix rods up on the site, i didnt see them?
Rick, how is the shipping to Canada? Will the combined shipping also include us up here?

When do you foresee this to take effect? Ballpark not exact.
I'm holding onto my points until they get the flat rate deal going.

Do they carry over month to month and accumulate?
Sort of reminds this ole timer of " S&H Green Stamps." You got some for when you bought items, pasted them in your Green stamp book, and when you had enough books, could go to the store and redeem them for merchandise. Lots of people used to do this many years ago.
Lots of buying and pasting.......not too much valuable redeeming however.
The formula is sort of "myriad like." Lots of " you can do this, and gain this, and do that, and get that, and only pay that, to get this."
Very interesting!
I'm enjoying the excitement!!

Was there some point to the rambling I just forced myself to read? 30 seconds ill never get back
Sorry to carry on so, Rockchalk, and waste your time. LOL!
I've been "Finesse Fishing" for awhile and sometimes I tend to "finesse a point."
You'll have to come to your own conclusion. ( actually, you may find that your point and mine may be similar)
